Well THANK YOU for showing us how to clean this exact Primo dispenser! I am appreciative of your simple, easy to follow instructions and of your time to make the video! ☺
I do not know how to remove the nozzles. I haven't looked. The cleaning process says that the bleach water is enough to flush and clean the nozzles. On one cleaning I poked a qtip up the nozzle but didn't see anything removed. Thanks.
I'm sorry I'm late. What you see is that your water has become hard water. Your water is calcium dense. Which means that over the course of using your dispenser, there has been a calcium buildup. This isn't a bad thing. You can still drink it. Personally, I find it very hard to get rid of this, and it usually happens to people who either haven't cleaned it or have been using their dispenser for a long time.
Very good question. I try follow MFR recommendations even though per model they differ. One approach to cleaning is by adding cleaning solution to top tank, which means taking the unit apart. In this case, unplug the unit. However, this approach doesn't clean inbound lines. Another approach to cleaning is by adding cleaning solution to an empty five gallon bottle. In this case, the power is on and the cleaning solution is sucked up from the bottle through inbound lines also. I have made a few videos for Primo and Avalon on both approaches. I prefer the approach using the bottle.
They are different containers - cold and hot. I guess cold water and hot water cause different kinds of build up, so best to chill and heat each container.
Its a very light blue cap. They came with the bottles but I can't recall where I purchased the bottles. You can search walmart for "Brio Blue Plastic Top Replacement Cap - 6 Pack - 55mm for 5 Gallon Water Bottles CA55DBDP6" or amazon for "Dew Cap Replacement - 55mm Snap On Crown Top Fit 3 & 5 Gallon Water Bottles Snug & Tight Leak Proof Reusable BPA-Free Jug Lids" . Thanks
Hi! I just did all of this and now I’ve put a test batch of water in and even though everything is plugged in and switches are on now the machine isn’t working
I cleaned two different models of Primo dispensers. I am not sure if other models or MFRs have a different approach. Most will publish the cleaning approach in the manual or web site.
I found that the ice cube in the reservoir needs to be melted completely before cleaning. The ice will hold the vinegar and the water will taste like vinegar.
In my water dispenser, compressed refrigerant is cooled and passes through coil that touches the water and cools it. The container stores the cold water.

You're welcome!
Best no nonsense, quick guide. But best advise to me was at 6:20ish about winding the water tube to lessen vibration noise. 🤣 No, really. Thanks!!!
You are welcome.
I HAD NO IDEA THAT HOLDER WAS THERE 😅
Sneaky.
Me neither! 😂
This was well videoed and explained! Glad I found it on RUclips! Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
This video was very helpful, this helped me understand the full procedure from start to finish. Thank you for publishing!
You're very welcome!
Thank you! You know how to remove the nozzles to clean them inside?

This was the best and easiest to see and understand video instruction that I have found. Thank you so much for doing this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for this step by step.
Do you taste some vinegar after the new water is in?
No vinegar taste. Rinse it well.
@@DrBDIY thank you
I’ve done this but I keep seeing white stuff floating in my water. What could this be? Some kind of looks like a film.

@@kingfloyd0001 if I clean it again will it maybe go away?
What happens when no water drains from the back?
That should be a short hose from near to bottom of the tank. Clean it out by blowing into the hole at the bottom of the tank that feeds hose to drain.
@DrBDIY ok thanks I'll see if I can figure it out
Is there a reason why you don’t cycle the water through while plugged in?

Is it necessary to turn on cooler in order to clean it? I'd assume the hot vinegar water would be more effective if it remains hot

where did you get the gray cap for the water jug

Oh no. Did you cut a wire? Can you here the unit running?
@@DrBDIYyes the unit runs! I may have saturated the filter or something/gotten it wet so I’m letting it dry?
Are all 3 dispensers not working?
Great video !!! How often should we be cleaing the dispenser, i have the same one. THANK YOU !
Every six months to one year depending on your water quality.
Thank you! So helpful.
You're welcome!
Thank you for your easy to understand video . All the water running wanted me to go pee though 😂
Funny.
Does this work for the top loaders too??
Each MFR / Model may be different. They should have cleaning instructions in the manual.
How often do you do this?
Evert six months to one year depending on water quality.
What if the tubing turns brown? Does the vinegar clean that off?
Unknown what causes the stain. Hopefully not rust. Where are you purchasing the water?
Hopefully that's not mold
Can this cleaning method be for any water dispenser? Not just for this model? Thanks again! I plan on cleaning mine as I’ve never done it!

@@DrBDIY It worked like a charm on my Frigidare stand-alone 3-button cooler/dispenser (Cold/Hot/Room Temp)
I am having problems with little pieces of curled up plastic. In the bottom of my glass. I will try cleaning out the dispenser. THANK YOU SIR.
Take your time. Inspect the cooling reservoir for sure.
50% will be doing this task while drinking wine, so your step by step guide will save lives😂
LOL. You bet.
This comment has me rolling as I’m waiting for it to fill and drinking wine 😂
Thank you sir for the help
You're welcome.
Thank you for this!

Thank you bro 🤟🙏
No problem 👍
I found that the ice cube in the reservoir needs to be melted completely before cleaning. The ice will hold the vinegar and the water will taste like vinegar.
Ice cube?
@DrBDIY There is a container inside of the machine that holds the water inside with a giant ice cube. That's how you get cold water.
In my water dispenser, compressed refrigerant is cooled and
passes through coil that touches the water and cools it. The container stores the cold water.
Thank you
You bet.
How often do you do that? And how did you take the drain cover off the bottom when you overfill your glass .? Thank you, sir 👍
I clean the unit once per year. The drain cover just sits in a groove so I just push a corner and it comes out.
Do they have filters
No filters.
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
Very informative! Thank you!

the best video I have seen
Thanks!
We just bought ours and we used it and we started noticing floaty bacteria in the water. So we just tried this to see if that helps.
Did it work?
My hot works, but my cold does not.
Is there oily stuff in the bottom of the unit? Indicating compressor went bad. Does it have separate cold/hot water power buttons in back and both on?
