I was also a low income single mom - twice! I put myself through school, got a higher education. I bought a house and land and was excuriatingly frugal. I burned out and took on a job as a barista, saved my tips and paid off my house in 7 years. Then I met my husband who was as frugal as I am. We married, I moved into his mortgage free house and sold mine. Now we have a very nice nest egg and I retired early. Life is sweet when you are debt free.
Thank you Kate❤ I appreciate you. Kate! I love that your viewers support you so well! Makes me smile. You work hard for it. I know. It’s not easy to put a video out every day and share life. Being that I’m not working now, I’m excited to learn more from you to make this work so I don’t have to go back to work. I’m thankful for my guy who works so hard for us. I worked hard for 31 years until I almost lost my soul and because of my guy and therapy I finally had the courage to quit and do what I love. CREATE❤ I hate to hear bout your friend who passed💔 We took in a single mom the first year I quit my job and she is working her butt off 12 hours away now. She has a dream of having her own bakery and I’m not going to stop believing in her. I told her today it will be such a kick ass success story. Keep going Kate.
I'll be your "living like we're poor," partner; I told my mother a few years back the same thing, that I was going to live like I was poor to reach my goals and she was really discouraging. I think I offended her because she did go through a time in her life where she was truly genuinely poor, but I look back and truly wish I had followed through with the idea because I think I would be in an even better financial place. So, Here's to living like we're poor (but so abundant!) in 2025! Sending Love.
I heard a great quote: "True abundance is being grateful for what you have in the present and doing the very best with that." Abundance that requires going into consumer debt or not paying off debt is FAKE! Pay. Off. Your. Mortgage. Pay off all your debt. Take very good care of what you already have. Pray morning, noon, and night a prayer of thanks & gratitude for what has been given to you. ♥️🇨🇦
Love it “madness and mayhem with a side dish of crazy!”😆😆😆. Like you I’m living beneath my means even tho my means at a poverty level. Just returned $10 worth of cans and I put it in an envelope to send to mortgage principle. I collect cans from roadsides and friends. Every little bit helps!
Loved this chat, and I love burritos too! I’m on a money saving mission again, so I have decided to shop no more than once per week. Usually I can do the shopping once every two weeks. Right now I do not buy coffees, meals out, treats, extras, etc. Pay down the mortgage and build a better savings account.🐇🇨🇦
I’m with you on paying off your mortgage. I have been paying a payment and a half for over a year and I’ve saved enough to pay it off come January 1st so I think I will just do it! I would like to retire early in 5 years so I’m trying to make a plan for that. Step 1. Pay off the house. I was lucky to purchase in 2012 when the rates were very very low but I still see the advantages of having 0 interest!
Yes! Prepare in the good times for the bad times. It is cyclical. I wish you well in paying off that mortgage. Mine is paid and it is very freeing and comforting. I can live off of less than $1000/mo. Not into mainifesting, but if it works for you go for it. I am sending prayers for success.
Oh, why not talk about politics ! Most of your community ia in the same boat of wanting and needing more and more frugality in 2925. Somehow, I suspect that we do not have many millionaries in our community. We need to share our ideas, concerns, tips and let it all hang out. My challenge is finding funds for insurance premiums which have soured. That is making me really work on other expenditures to cut back on total spending. And, I am having moderate success by paring down energy, grocery, repaires, and all sorts of things. Like you, the library is very important to me and I love it. The burritoes look wonderful. Be happy!
Hi Kate! I am still on the path to paying down my credit cards and trying to convince my husband not to refinance We fight everyday about it and it is ridiculous because he can’t even try to refinance for a year anyway( must be in second job for two years before can use it as income)… Love these daily videos. I too love the homemade burritos! Bean and cheese, rice (I think that makes it a chimichanga?), and also eggs making them breakfast burritos Endless possibilities with tortillas I also enjoy fresh salsa and a cheese quesadilla with a little sour cream on top All things we always have on hand Have a great weekend Kate Hi from SC.💕😊🏝️
Also tip do your dishes in the dishwasher start it at night after 8pm when its off peak hours, also unplug any small appliances or light when you're not using or finished using stop any and all electricity every penny counts as savings
I have found rocks in my beans before - and i take out the small shriveled looking beans too. It wasn't unit recently that I realized I was supposed to be rinsing my rice. Where have I been for 60 years? The breakfast burrito set up is inspiring. Love the idea of what can I do now to help out future me? xo
Kate, my understanding is that the billionaires can make recommendations as to what they believe should be cut but they can't do the cuts. Apparently, Congress has to pass the budget cuts. It might be possible to be done by Executive Order but I don't know on that one.
30 plus years ago we created a free trade between USA and Canada. A lot of our business in Canada went down because they could not compete with USA but there was meant to be no tariffs. Now tarriffs? So does that mean we have to put tarriifs on your imports now too?
When you say writers "rant" about politics, most of those writers are in that field and have research to back their views. That's what is great about RUclips, you can rant about anything sans research or credibility.

Kate I’ve been with you from the beginning. You are always so down to earth and sincere. Thank you so much for brining this community together.

Let's go into 2025 putting positivity and knowledge into the universe instead of doom and gloom. 🤗

I used to collect the neighbors cans. I’ll do it all if it gets us ahead.
Absolutely. I get the best cans too when I walk the dog😁.
After January 20th things will be OK, just like they were in his 1st 4 years. Sending you love, peace and positivity in this coming new year. 🥰

You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Your politics are not mine BUT I do get a kick out of you. ❤️🙏🌟🎄Merry Christmas and a wonderful peace filled NEW year. Love and Light.
I have never found a rock, stone, or pebble in my beans either.

Unless you have solar then you do everything during the day.
Finally figured out who you remind me of! Nicolle Wallace. I grew up with her.
♥️
Thanks!
Thank you very much
Good morning ❤
Morning!🌞

What?? We are supposed to rinse rice? I missed that lesson😆
Madness and mayhem with a side dísh of crazy and a to go box of cuckoo. LOL!!!!
Hi Kate, if you put foil on your baking/cookie sheets, they will always look good and you have less cleaning to do.
I find parchment paper from the $ tree works better.
Kate, my understanding is that the billionaires can make recommendations as to what they believe should be cut but they can't do the cuts. Apparently, Congress has to pass the budget cuts. It might be possible to be done by Executive Order but I don't know on that one.
That sounds good to me, it slows any damage down.

I would hope so!
It's all up to President Musk. 😉

Your lucky you have not found rocks in your beans. I found two little ones. Twice. I make beans in the Instant Pot. Takes only 45 minutes.
I have found a few rocks it makes me feel like all the times that I checked and there were no rocks all my time was worth it.
