Everybody fears the world then you see an Italian travelling to the coldest places on earth and a person he met 22 hours earlier was so worried about him, they went out of their way to make sure he was safe! Humanity is amazing it's the power-hungry that destroy it for everyone!
Yeah but did the driver really go out of his way to make sure he's safe or was he just trying to set up the 5000 ruble taxi ride for his brother/friend?
Man, you are so TOUGH!! I am from Siberia, but a thermometer with -70 on it is just as exotic as +50 to me 😲 Oh, and those "cafes" - aren't they just unbelievable? Still, better than nothing right?? 😅
That taxi ride wasn't so bad. I took a taxi from the Atlanta GA airport to a truck-stop to meet the guy training me to drive and it was around 60 dollars US. But that was 12 years ago.
He is brave however you must not know Benjamin Rich of bald and bankrupt or Nick Fisher the Indigo Traveller! Look them up they have both done some very dangerous and sketchy things across their travels!
This is not bukhanka. This is modern van made by Toyota. Bukhanka is a 4x4 Soviet/Russian van made i Ulyanovsk. Made from sixties up to today with very minor upgrades made in this period. The real Bukhanka can be seen at 15:00 near Cuba cafe 😀
I'm planning to buy a 1980s one in St Petersburg and drive it back to Scotland. It's the best way to do it as you need to fill the van full of spares and a spare engine. Costs about $1500 for a reasonable and about the same on spare parts. Flights, agent, expenses whole thing is about $5000 which for a base for a 4x4 camper is a pretty good deal. Then budget about $3k to make it habitable and to make it usable on uk roads etc.
Wow, Davide, you are crazy! :-) I noticed your video among recommendations from YT and now I can't stop watching your videos. So crazy, so extreme, but so enjoyable to watch and the way you present your journeys is very good. I hate winter and coldness, but from now on I should stop complaining when the temperature here in Croatia drops below 0, because I see now that I have nothing to complain about. :-) Good luck with your journeys!
I really appreciate ur vlogging in Kolyma, there are so few people vlogging the place! im from norway and really wanna go there someday. I was quite worried when ur suddenly was stranded in oymyakon, it could have gotten much worse! Please take care in that extreme environment
Dave, you're mad...but we love you for it. 😂 This was absolutely amazing and what you put yourself through to entertain us is amazing. No-one gets into these tiny places to reveal parts of the world not normally seen like you do. Knowing that there's no film crew or backup team gives these videos a real edge of anxiety as we watch. (Horse milk review missing, though 🤣)
It's cool that Russia lays claim to the coldest recorded temperature in the southern hemisphere (Russia's Vostok Station) and the Northern Hemisphere (Oymyakon)
As wonderful and amazing as the people are, I'm surprised that the WW2 memorial / monument had a section on it in english. For a place that remote I never would have pictured that. Now I want to know what it says in it's entirety and the stories of the soldiers who's faces are upon it.
God damn this series is turning out to be amazing! I can't wait for the next one! However, small suggestion : would be good to make the gap between 'talking to camera" and "talking to people" a bit smaller. I. E. You tend to yell at the camera in an "entertaining way". Whereas I think people would like it more if you just spoke to us frankly, as you do to the people you meet on the streets. Just a suggestion. Luv ya!
What's the music at the intro? Is that... The Messenger? I'm sure I recognise!? Great stream either way, thanks for documenting where I can't go right now mate
Nice, I'm curiouw how it feels there. But, the van you traveled in, is not an UAZ Bukhanka. Google for pictures. They were, and are, also popular in Italy, and today they are somewhat of a cult vehicle in western Europe. I had one.

5000 rubles for a 30 minute taxi??? I mean, I know that you're out quite far but still, that's ridiculous. I wonder if you agreed on that price beforehand or if he just told you at the end that he was charging you that. The ride was absolutely necessary for you, but he did he have to charge that much? Edit: This is the first video of yours that I've watched, but if this is the standard quality of your content then I'd expect your subscribers to shoot up very quick. I love to travel myself and I watch a lot of the big travel vloggers like B&B, Harald Baldr, Sabbatical, PPPeter, etc. I see no reason why you shouldn't be in the same bracket.
This is not bukhanka, this is some japanese wan (Toyota logo on a wheel). They are wide popular in far east. You'll be dad in bukhanka). You can see bukhanka on 15:02
Oh man, very nice adventure. Really like your style dud. Very unique. But I don't think the mini bus is a Soviet Buhanka. I'm sure its Toyota HIACE, Buhanka wouldn't reach a speed of 100kmph any way. I'm not if this toyota is made by the name of Buhanka. Very Nice to watch your video. Good luck buddy.
@@kxkxsjk2 Interesting - do you know if it is possible to register (insure) right-hand driven cars permanently in Russia? I know that where I live - which is a country with left-hand drive cars - you could never get a national number plate (=insurance) for a right-hand drive car. If you come to my country from the UK with a right-hand drive car you are allowed to drive this car for one year with the original English number plates (and insurance) but that's it. After one year you either have to sell it and get a left-hand drive car or you have to bring it back to England. They won't let you register (and insure) it here. This is supposedly to increase road safety. Do you think that having a mixture of cars with left and right-hand drive on the roads in Russia makes them more dangerous?
@@wkgurr yeah, it's completely legal to register a right-hand car in Russia. I think like a half of Vladivostok drives right-hand cars (even though the direction is right-hand like in all of Russia), mostly second-hand cars from Japan, but sometimes even brand new. I wonder what is that country you live in? 🤔
@@kxkxsjk2 I live in Switzerland and I just checked about bringing a car from the UK (right-hand drive) to Switzerland. Apparently you can do it but you need a "Certificate of Conformity" (whatever that is) in order to be able to register the car in Switzerland. i don't know if it would be a problem with insuring it or if they would charge you higher premiums because its steering is on the "wrong" side. There is no demand for UK cars here because of the right-hand drive and because import cars from the EU are plentiful and all have the steering on the left-hand side. Where do you live?
@@wkgurr I live in Russia, but in central part of it, so we don't have much right-wheel cars here, 99% of them is from Europe as you said. But for Russian Far East it's easier to import cars from Japan/China/Korea, so that's why they have so many of them, I guess. Or I would say it's more cost efficient, for the same price you can get a better car

Nice journey man, the real adventure! But your bus isn’t Soviet bukhanka, but a Japanese (or maybe Chinese) made relatively new mini van)

That's what i thought. Looks japanese
