That footstool at the end was a classic tournament closer. No need to wait for the stock loss... there's no coming back from a footstool that deep. There's just no coming back from a foot that deep... Where's that foot? Who knows... but there's no coming back from it.
MajorXP he wouldn't be playing fruit cake.. if anything it's very minor compared to what it was... no johns, if zero didn't think he could win, he wouldn't play...both his mains got heavily nerfed, thats why he's not doing as well..plus, everyone is getting confident and better with zeros absence...i love zero more than any smasher...i subbed to him when he has under 20,000 subs, but he's getting beat.. his injury did effect him, but it's not anymore.
Not johning for Zero, but he seemed so sloppy this time compared to the normal footage we are used to seeing. Even I watching could guess when he was going to Side B, and he air dodged more times this set than I've ever seen him do before- Still my favorite Smash 4 pro, Keep going Zero :)
There are so many players now that are on his level. He's consistently in losers now. It's amazing to see who has risen from the ashes that Zero left behind in the first year of Smash 4.
I don't like to think of it as ZeRo losing his fire, but as all of the other top 10 players getting better and better and reaching his level. Even so, ZeRo has made it to grands in both of the tournaments he's attended since his return and narrowly lost to two of the best smashers in the world (and mew2king in winners quarters). I don't think ZeRo is sinking, i think the other top players are rising.
The other players are definitely rising. I think this coupled with the nerf of Zero's main Shiek and his injury is why results are the way they were. Yes they were reading each other, but it's just so unlike Zero to do 4 air dodges in a row. He's doesn't normally fall for the same trick like that so often.

I know everyone is getting better, and Zeros been out for many months cause of his injury, but the fact that he doesn't play the best character in the game for the first time since realase and lose two tourneys in a row makes you wonder. Not really, Smash bros is like riding a bike. IN FACT, some players come back *STRONGER* than they were before. Take Shaky for example when he won Whobo 4 m-t singles back in 2012 when he was on a 6 month break. Larry was just on top of his game, and ZeRo isn't off his game, Larry was *ALWAYS* amazing and the first to win an Apex with Falco back in 2010...the man is a legend and always was.
Congrats for both players. Zero coming back after months and still playing amazing and Larry just getting better everytime, I'm happy to see results for him too for probe a character like fox still can do it :)
Always knew Larry could do it. It was just his time. Although Zero didnt play his best, they still went the full 10 games. Amazing set, probably one of the best of the year.

The God was destroying everyone for about a year. But then a mere mortal injured the God. Fearing that he was losing control over the world the God went into a deep slumber. When he would eventually awake he would have more power than ever. However it would take a while for the power to come back. The God now has to reclaim his strength for when the day comes. This is only a temporary state. However when the God comes to more form, he shall rise up and take control with more power than ever once more.

4-6 ( Mr R , Ally , Larry ) are all super close Ally has won a national and has beaten ZeRo but doesn't have that good of a record against the top 10 , Larry hasn't won a national has never beaten Nairo and has negative record against most of top 10 but has beaten ZeRo twice and is super consistent and Mr R never beaten ZeRo but has a positive record on everyone else but Dabuz/ZeRo and has only placed outside of top 8 Twice (G3 9th and CEO 9th )

Well yes, he DID lose to Nairo, Anti and now Larry, but if you compare his winning streak to other top players, he is still considered the best - but if he starts to falter and drop grand finals like this, he might not be able to hold that claim.
The man wins 54 tournaments in a row and you think coming in second place a few times sets him back? He's still untouchable as the top player for a while.
If you're at home practicing all day (not against real people) do you really expect to be the best? CPUs aren't a challenge (nor a practical approach). I highly doubt For Glory counts. He's better off going into tourneys and playing people that actually stretch his limits. Yes, he was a little off, but don't knock Larry's excellent play either. There were only 2-3 easy wins/stocks between them in the 10 games of their grand finals set and each of those came by adapting to their opponents play style.
