    How wonderful to know,
even I am lost in thoughts,
    my home is right here.
    And when I wake up,
    recognizing I have wandered off,
Home is instantly there to greet me..
    Being more confident that home
    keeps drawing me back,
I can be playful and relaxed with my attitude.
The blue sky is always there
Even if covered with dark clouds..

    • @buckmiller1497

@@Hello-ig4wt I would accept Islam. What does Islam say about the nature of suffering? Buddhism says it’s related to our ignorance which leads to craving for pleasures and continued existence (the imagined self). Essentially, if we could see our true nature, our craving for all things that never satisfied us in the first place would diminish, and thus our suffering would diminish as well. Is Islam opposed to this idea? And if so, what are the reasons?

I'll keep saying it but meditation is two things: brushing your teeth (but for the brain) and a workout (but for the brain). Like a workout you don't notice the effect of the sport at the time, in a day-by-day basis, but you absolutely notice it 6 months down the line. A year. Two years. Even more if you quit. You'll be slower. More fog in the brain. More easily distracted.

That mentioned is a global phenomenon which apply seemingly to all main religions and philosophies: the hungry ego seeks gain by any available means, taking on any desirable label or affiliation which may further its aim. Even within a single mind, positive beliefs and labels may be used to obscure or justify ignorant intentions. When in a state of strong fear and insecurity, truth can be difficult to discern from fallacy. The official belief system of a group of people, especially when material gain and loss is at stake, is often followed only superficially by most members. Perhaps the only fully honest path is that walked alone, where necessary sacrifices and changes can be made without too much resistance.

Excuse me. I have three questions about meditation.
1- I am so anxious and restless during the day, and I also have a lot of mental rumination and disturbing thoughts that make me unable to meditate, what should I do?
2- When meditating, I try not to pay attention to my thoughts and focus on meditating, because if I pay attention to them, I will be overwhelmed by them and forget about meditating, is this correct?
3- When meditating, I like to end meditation quickly and come out of meditation quickly. I don't know why this happens, what should I do?

    • @FalseCogs
      @FalseCogs 2 года назад

These thoughts may differ from those of others, but here goes:
1- Disturbing, especially intrusive, thoughts are often the result of emotions unresolved. One of the tricks of the ego is to make up story after story, scenario after scenario, about "the problem that needs attention"; but all too often, the _actual_ issue is elsewhere. The trick works like this: _any_ triggering problem, or significant need unmet, results in emotional unrest; this, in turn, results in thought after thought -- about all sorts of _other_ concerns and ruminations.
One of the tips for these elusive predicaments is to _feel into the emotion_ itself, calmly allowing the thought to go on without getting dragged into it. The key is accepting the thoughts as signs of unmet needs, yet not _identifying_ with them. In other words, accept the thoughts as messengers, but know their message is not yours _personally._ One approach is to view the thoughts and feelings like a playground, or mixing bowl, where things come and go from sight, on their own accord.
Perhaps the single most important advice is not to resist the thoughts, but merely to observe them without taking sides or making stories.
2- Overwhelm is sometimes what happens when getting involved in the story, rather than diving into the feelings that drive the thoughts. If you think about it, what is the worst that can happen when you surrender to sensation? Will you literally perish, or is the ego what may perish?
3- Anxiety and fear of lost opportunity can result in sense of hurry and general unease. Feeling compelled to exit the session likely comes from a combination of (a) not seeing or understanding the purpose and potential benefit and (b) not wanting to experience those dark places, where sense of control is lost, hiding around the slippery corners of the mind.
One method for overcoming fear is to imagine the very worst things possible, to go all the way into your own personal hell. Imagine the torment and loss. Imagine the world going on without you. This practice, as absurd as it may sound, should help not only to give you a sense of control over negative thoughts, but also should train the mind to stop resisting itself.
Resistance is the greatest source of mental suffering.
      Surrender is freedom.

    Sir - I have a question:
I believe I understand what you are saying about the apple and seed as metaphor and that spending time being aware (meditating) will make the fruit that is already here in me clear to me and it will 'feed' me. My question is this - what is the cloth that you used to cover the apple in this metaphor? In other words, how am I stopping myself from seeing and experiencing the apple? Why do we humans tend to cover the apple when connecting with it will bring us so much benefit?
    Thank you

Greetings🙏 Pardon my reply but as I thought His Holiness would seldom read and reply our comments, it's best we tried to remove confusions that we understand, as a volunteer.
The Cloth covering the apple here represents our set of beliefs our morals our culture that we are raised in. And by culture I mean all culture.. Our region, our parents, our friends, the internet culture.. etc. Everything. And more cultures emerging still. Talk about metaverse! Amidst all these we loose ourself. This "ourself" is the apple as per my understanding. A word which can only be experienced with proper guidance.
Man never tried to cover this apple intentionally else he would have kept it in a locker 😄 but the short pleasures he gets from indulging in everything intoxicating around makes him cover himself unknowingly. Gradually the Apple gets lost in us. That is why the idea of awareness. Awareness teaches us that the glasses tha we are searching is actually above our head. 😄😄
"I am aware that I am reading this.. I am aware that I am actually thinking automatically... I am aware I can't stop my mind... I am aware that actually I can.... "
In this way we keep on discovering us from us! And though a paradox is discovery worth unboxing before death! Death will anyway unbox a lot of things but you know it would be difficult to enjoy the fruit then! ! The dead don't eat😄.. The living do.. 😄😄
And like in Game of Thrones.. We fight for the side that's living.
I hope I have not offended anyone and ask forgiveness beforehand for a display of words.
Peace and God be with thee... ☺
