- On this episode of the bbg we have a new wuxia game from steam under "幻境与山门" called the lost forest in english - its absolutely a hidden gem of a game.
It was recently completely translated into english and it reminds of amazing cultivation simulator, tale of immortal and vampire survival.... less punishing than ACS though
0:00-0:35 = Intro

@@B.B.G just watched the vid now, and it’s honestly looks great. It looks like what acs could of been. We’re truly entering the golden era, now triple A needs to get their hand out of their ass and get work.
Also ifs probably better to pause more often, as to build and structure things. With games like these, time is key.
@@aaronchif Oh yeah it looks absolutely amazing, ACS was good in and of itself but this is much more casual friendly

Although it seems like the games intention is to have you speed up progress after dungeon runs when you get a bunch of resources to use at once 🤔🤔
I absolutely love your first look videos for these cultivation games. I wish there were thousands of them so there could be an endless supply of these videos.

I'd like to see western wizards in games also form mana cores and have breakthroughs in games since I love the preparation aspect, preparing from multiple angles for the best foundation.

It does look like the eng translation has been worked on since late last year so im happy it was finally finished by the time i found it yesterday

Yeah i know right, im finding stuff left and right now its GREAT for us cultivation enjoyers - im actually more surprised this came with a proper english translation before leaving EA lmao (sort of, its not 100% lmao but when is it ever)

Got to playing this game cause I looked up cultivation game on youtube and found your channel. Been playing through this game and its loads of fun, love me a city builder game and love cultivation games.
One thing they need to do is make a better tutorial system because the beginning was abit rough to understand all the mechanics. There were times I felt so very lost, like what to do with the disciples and how the agency worked cause they never explained how it works, they just tell you to do it.
Oh hell yeah :D, it is a great game and there are some good cultivation games out there
But some absolutely suffer from either poorly translated tutorials or just a straight up confusing newbie experience 😂

I know I'm 6 months late, as I've been playing this for that long.

Oh i did jump back in to try out sect wars but im not sure if my save is too old but the game kept crashing in the middle of sect wars but nothing else
I think id have to start a whole new game to try it out properly 🥹
@@B.B.G Had the same problem and someone told me to swap graphic setting to something random and swap back and for some magical reason, that insane advice worked. I hope it works for you as well.

Heh a strategy rts like game - seems cool - just hope you can Increase the life span before they die of old age coz time seems to really speed up in the game alot at slow mode
Its kinda multiple game types in the one game now i have got further tbh
I did manage to increase 2 disciples lives by 500 years though 👀
I like the wuxia genre. I'm curious how the late game is here. But it looks like an entertaining early game.
The late game these days is all about the sect wars and conquering the world pretty much 😂
The early and mid game is building your sect, getting resources, refining stuff for disciples and levelling them up along with your sect guardian beast

Wow, this is expensive for a cultivation game I feel, though it looks good so probably gonna be worth the money if you're into the genre
Yeah its on the higher end for sure, not wrong there - there is quite a lot in the game though so i think that factors into the price 🤔
But yeah if you like this kind of game, its totally worth it 🤣

So there is quite a few novels with smiling monarch as a character, i used to draw the name from realms in the firmament but i also like the character of the same name from volcanic age 🤣🤣

no... it just means that when the full release is out the price will increase for those who have not bought the game yet. If you buy it at the current price then it's yours forever.
Yeah as JustMe has said; you can basically interpret this as;
If you buy it now during EA with seasonal discounts (like right now, its 20% off), its yours forever
If you buy it when its first released then you'll get a discount for buying it during its release period - no idea what that discount would be though but i would imagine the 10-20% realm 🤔

What do you think of this if you compare it to Tales of immortal?
It's honestly like a balance between TOI and ACS honestly
Wayyy more in depth than TOI but not as punishing as ACS while having features of both
@@B.B.G which is the "in depth" thing compared to TOI? Just a construction simulator I see. ACS is way more complicated than this.
@@bobobubu7850 So in this video ive honestly barely scratched the surface of all the mechanics but the in depth parts can basically be summarised into;
1. Needing multiple diff buildings & time to manage disciple wellbeing & training
2. Needing multiple different items for breakthroughs as well as managing individual stats so your character survives the breakthrough
3. Artifact management and progression to increase strength in different combat situations (there are three entirely different modes of combat/farming here as it turns out - the one in the video is just one type)
4. Intimacy with disciples affects passive skills learned (in terms of dual cultivation skills)
5. Skill books seem to only be able to be used to teach a disciple once so if they die its pretty much gone and you'll have to research/find another copy (this might change later with higher level sect library tbh)
6. Constant management of resource production with disciples
Thats what i have found so far anyway but it is MUCH less punishing than amazing cultivation simulator in that your main character cant age to death/die from a breakthrough failure but much more indepth than tale of immortal
As far as ive seen you also dont seem to need to worry about elemental effects of buildings on a per cultivator basis either like ACS

So basically from the landing page of the game;
Go down to the 4th option on the main screen
Then click on the first option at the top on the right of that interface you will be able to scroll along until you hit english!

A small aspect of the combat is basically 3D vampire survivors
The rest of it is base building and people management!

As of now its still only single player, they have only just added multiple sects (npc sects) that you can explore
I could see leaderboards/rankings for mp soonish but i dont know about full on mp

Oooh i suppose the easiest way to explain that is that this game doesnt have anywhere near the learning curve or penalties that making a mistake in ACS does
It basically doesnt take multiple runs and dozens of hours to get good/efficient at

But it does start making sense pretty quickly as you play, hopefully some of these videos can help as they go up to tribulation content!
@@B.B.G Yep I understand a lot more now but I am stuck at step 10 where we have to gift disciples to increase affinity but I don't have any items to give and idk where to get them
@@lonewarrior8217 Oh yeah, some missions arent explained too well - the gifts can be obtained from the minigame where you take three disciples in and have to survive there for a certain amount of time (kinda like a 3d vampire survivors)
You can give the gifts to disciples through the relationship tab at the bottom left where there are two faces facing each other. Some of that interface isn't fully translated last i checked though 💀

@@lonewarrior8217 Yes indeed they're in the trial tower, they tend to drop in green or blue chests and there is like 3-10 various gifts inside!
