That's the title track from their most recent album BE released last Nov. 20 which includes dynamite as well. It topped billboard hot 100 and all songs in the album was in the top 100 too haha dynamite has been in BB for 15 weeks. Life goes on is their 3rd number 1 in bb hot 100 but they've had multiple songs in the chart. They had billboard all kill with this album and sold more or less 2.2 million albums in 30 minutes from release. They only break their own records. I can go on and on but yes please check out the songs suggested by army you will not be disappointed by their lyricism and rap.

I think you'll love their hiphop genre side of their discography. You see, the BTS discography is one of the most diverse ones I've ever seen, not just in kpop but music in common. There isn't a type of genre that they haven't done. They love experimenting with sound. Once you get into it, you might even find yourself loving their other styles, such as slow music, and the vocal oriented songs too! They also have an ongoing storyline which is incredibly confusing though😂but you can take it all in one by one. You will definitely not regret getting to know them. Also, you should definitely check out their dance practices because they're so cool. Their synchronisation is unreal. One of the best in kpop

Well, they haven’t done metal, but I highly doubt any kpop group (besides Dreamcatcher) would be brave enough to try that genre.

Wow I'm really surprised you like it, because the first thing you said was you only listen to hip hop music and these bts's song aren't their usual hip hop ones. I was like "oh you are like this kind of people who like to trash the songs and say they are bad when they are actually talented and good" but plot twist! @@tyreikdagr8 yes do it, it's amazing and it literally starts off with a rap/hip-hop song, basically your style of music. BTS started off as a hip-hop group originally, they have 3 talented rappers. (1 one of them wasn't in the MMA 2020 because of his shoulder surgery, that's why you see 6 members and not 7, and sometimes there's a part where only the backtrack is here and no one actually raps his part. All 3 of them are actual rappers and don't just rap for the group to have some originality. No, they write their own bars, have their own solo rap mixtapes and some have been underground rappers for over 15 years already, even before BTS even existed in the first place.

There is 7 of them in normal setting but since one of them SUGA (Yoongi) had a surgery he wasnt there that is also why you can see some spaces left when they are standing or dancing ...

@@tyreikdagr8 If you like rap you should check out DAECHITWA by Agust D (Suga’s solo rap), CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP by jhope ft Becky G. (it’s all filmed in 3 shots and all the effects you see are real), and PERSONA by RM to round out the rapper introduction (3 rappers). Then I’d recommend MIC DROP, CYPHERS 3&4, and DDAENG EXPLAINED (the wordplay is insane and you have to experience it). For fun end this series with the vocal line rapping DDEANG.
Then I’d dive into recent live performances of their older music. And for the vocal line (4 vocalists)-Jungkook is the lead vocal but they are all incredible. Tae has a low, dark, rich voice (SINGULARITY, WINTER BEAR)-Jimin lives in gorgeous high notes (FILTER, SERENDIPITY)-Jin is airy and ethereal (MOON, EPIPHANY)-and Jungkook is a RnB BEAST in my mind but he does it all (MY TIME, STILL WITH YOU, EUPHORIA)-he’s particularly well known on Twitter for covers of songs like NEVER NOT and 10,000 HOURS) I like PAPER HEARTS, WE DON’T TALK ANYMORE, and PURPOSE. Check out their solo work as you’d like but also you have to watch vocal line LIVE performances like PIED PIPER, DIMPLE, THE TRUTH UNTOLD, ZERO O’CLOCK, and HOUSE OF CARDS.
(Another reminder: live and subtitles. They are insane live.)
Next I’d suggest watching some super significant songs/ moments like: British ARMY surprising BTS by singing their song in Korean when it wasn’t scheduled (WEMBLEY YOUNG FOREVER) and LY:TEAR (context: the group contemplated disbanding and one of the rappers wrote the beat and they all wrote their own verses). I mean they pretty much always write their own shit but just FYI! Also remember to search for lyrics on live performances, you can always find a fan who has done it here on YT.
To round out your introduction you should watch an INTRO TO BTS video-there are a few you’ll find w/ tons of views that are a must since they’re all so freakishly talented. Kind of remind me of Wu-Tang, obviously the music is different but rather for their collection of people who have perfected their craft. And they grew together.
The first two members RM and SUGA (originally underground rappers) have been together almost 10 years. They were meant to debut as a hip hop group until they added singers. Jungkook, the youngest, was like 13-14 when he joined (15 in Korean age) and the members practically raised him. They even went to his high school entrance and graduation ceremonies-they’re now between the ages of 23-28.

They are actually singing all this live they actually do a lot of breathing exercises before the performance and thats how they keep their breath. Like running in a treadmill while singing the whole song

It doesn’t discredit BTS as performers, they’re still plenty talented (like I said this is a problem with all kpop groups), but this is not 100% live because of how much it has been edited. you can’t argue it hasn’t been edited, there is obvious autotune and stabilizers on this audio here. listen to some bts red bullet performances. night and day in terms of sound quality- red bullet and other tours are truly 100% live and raw.

if you think this is an unforgivable sin then you are wrong. we can still love bts while accepting that their live performances are often edited, just like every other kpop idol groups are.
as someone with a degree in music who’s taken multiple sound engineering classes you can’t convince me that these performances haven’t been edited. if you know what you are listening for there is an obvious difference between completely live performances and edited audio.
edit: also, as far as I am aware a bighit “fan cam” is not a fan can because it’s released by bighit so it’s subject to the same editing and post production as mnet. a fan cam is a clip from one angle from the audience (there was no audience for these performances). yes, bighit does edit bts’ performances
just for future reference if you hear them say "the n word" they arent actually saying it, theyre saying "naega" and"niga" or something that ends with "nikka"

What makes them great is that they're the whole package. It's not just the music (melody + voices). It''s the music + the choreo, costumes, stage, the entire production that makes their performances great.
MMA / MAMA 2020 were also great performances, but for someone who usually only listens to hip hop, I think the easiest to get into BTS is to check their songs that are closest to your preference. In this case from their over 200 songs you have a lot to choose from, as others already stated in other comments. Their music is so varied that most people should find smth to like.
I've only been looking at BTS for half a year. In the beginning I listened to some songs and they weren't among my favorites, but as I listened to them more I liked them more. I have not grown tired of listening to any of their songs yet.
Besides their music and performances, with BTS people can also look forward to the messages, what their music stands for, what these guys are about. All good stuff, all good influence.
Their MVs also contain so many messages that the average listener doesn't normally get (I just scratched the surface until this point).
In conclusion I like to think of the boys as ogres (handsome ogres :D).
You know what Shrek said: "Onions have layers. Ogres are like onions."
Let go of your prejudices, look beneath the surface and you'll be a fan of BTS.

I think you would love Daechwita - by Agust D (who's one member of bts). It's a hip hop song that was produced, composed, and written by Agust D and mixes traditional Korean instruments with a trap/hip hop beat and rapping. The lyrics are also pretty fun and there are English translations on the video if you turn the CC on :)
Instead of watching all the songs' recommendations, first watch "Who is BTS?: The seven member of bangtan (introduction)" for you to know who are bts hehe

Sometimes it's not really about the "enjoying" Or "not enjoying". Most of the times it's the meaning of the lyrics. They might make good hip hop songs but the meaning to their songs gives more inspiration/self love awareness to tons of people

*bts roots are hip hop, they have branched out and experimented with their sound, they're amazing performers and lyricists. They are beyond the k-industry*
i actually am a big hip hop fan and that's why i got into bts back in 2013, although they have songs for everyone
They are grounded in Hip Hop and it's through all their albums, the 3 Rappers write and produce most o of their content while the 4 vocalist also write and produce. They use multi genre's and will mix genre's because they have a wide variety of skills/talents.

BTS has a little bit of everything, I’m thankful that you recognize how hard they work on their art. For performance purposes, any song BTS does is entertaining, but if you are more into hip-hop/rap/r&b then they def have things more up your ally than MMA performances 😅 try mic drop, shadow, daewchita, ddaeng, outdo:tear or dis-ease. Also maybe try with the subtitles on, understanding the lyrics & bars make it so much better when hyping to their music.
You picked the most ambitious first BTS viewing I have ever heard of! Wow! And yet you only got a taste of their hip hop roots, got them with one (rapper) member missing, and during covid, so all the dancers are masked and there's no live audience.

Look at Agust D's work. You didn't see him on the MMA show because he is still recovering from surgery, but the guy is a genius. Try Deachwita.
You should watch their performance for the MMA 2019 look for BTS full live, it’s great. When it comes to song, try listening to tears, mic drops, black swan and first love and singularity.

Thank you for giving them a chance. I really enjoyed watching your reaction! BTS consists of 7 members: 3 rappers (RM, J-hope, Suga) and 4 vocalists (Jin, V, Jimin, Jungkook). At this performance one member, Suga, was missing due to the recent shoulder surgery. BTS has a VERY diverse discography so everyone will find something for themselves. Here are some of my recommendations, since you like hip hop, rap and r&b:
Rap: UGH! (only has a lyric video/live performance)
Trap/Emo hip hop: Black Swan
Hip hop: Mic Drop, Outro: Tear (only has a lyric video/live performance)
R&B: Singularity, Louder than bombs (only has a lyric video)
Since not every BTS song has a music video I recommend watching it's live performances or fan made lyric videos. Every official MV is uploaded on Big Hit Labels or BangtanTV official channels. Also, you don't have to worry about copyright strikes. Everything from these channels is safe to react to.
well i'm late, but i really appreciate your reaction, it's so much more sincere than what i'm used to seeing. a lot of youtubers hear about BTS, how many views BTS reactions get, and they go "oh FiRsT tImE LiStEnInG" and then like 4 seconds in they're jumping out their chairs & screaming & fanboying & shit. i felt like you were really taking it in and you weren't faking being hyped up about it just to make ARMYs happy. i enjoyed that. i see you did end up reacting to another song of theirs so i'm gonna check that out now. :)
BTS has different type of genre, Hip hop,R&B,Pop,ballad, rap, n etc.

bts is the biggest boy band now in the whole world,u watch also the documentary,(Thise is bts by xceleste)there u know more about bts so u have a guide,because its hard to react them if u don't know there story
Also the lyrics for Life Goes On (the track you said you enjoyed) are about the pandemic and kind of the pain of losing everything and having the world come to a halt. BTS have the music, the dancing, and singing, and budget, the lyrics, and everything in bewteen which is one reason they are so popular.
The members write and produce a lot of their own stuff which is not something typical for "boybands" and they have roots in hip hop. They have this one song called "Hip Hop Phile" where they list off their influences including artists like Jay-Z, Nas, Epik High, Eminem, Eric B, Rakim, Pete Rock, Mac Miller, Kanye, Kendrick and more. Their album stuctures are also inspired by hip hop (with intros, interludes, outros, and skits) and they have this series called the Cypher series (4 songs) where they basically diss their fellow Korean rappers who said bts was not hip hop since they danced/did pop music also/signed with a label.
They've done a lot of collabs with people like Wale, Juice Wrld (before Lucid Dreams was released I'm pretty sure), Nicki, Kriz Kaliko, Warren G etc. One of my favorite hip hop songs from a member is Daechwita (by Agust D). The Juice Wrld collab is also FIRE. Mic Drop is one of their more famous hip hop/edm mash up songs. As someone who enjoys a lot of hip hop music, I didn't think bts would be for me, but they really do have the bars lol and their history as a group is fastinating :)

Yay! Your first introduction to BTS is a live performance! They are insane performers. Wait until you see their music videos. You don’t see MVs like theirs on US television. They are just amazing! I would recommend MIC DROP, Fire or Idol. They’re less “poppy” and might appeal to you more than the group’s more bouncy tunes like Dynamite.
I agree with a lot of people in the comments. Check out their hip hop and rap line tracks.

I appreciate how honest you are. You started this video explaining that you arent into there type of music and yet still want to try to be more open to other music genres. And at the end you said you werent sure if u were genuinely going to enjoy them yet said while the music might not specifically be ur taste enough to listen to them again,I'm glad how u enjoyed the performance and their energy. Kpop music might not be for everyone but I get happy when the reactors still find something to like about the videos. There are so many toxic reactors who listen to bts cuz they are trending and only sit down to say they dance good but their music is trash or say very racist to stereotypical things about bts(especiallysince bts are asian men, and in kpop),and they say it to openly mock bts cuz they laugh as they say those comments. That's why fans can be said to be overprotective in kpop(not all fans are perfect I will say this,some are toxic but many just wish for equal respect). There were celebrities who have openly mocked bts before too on camera yet for called out for it.And I'm glad u took a chance to watch bts it was a cool reaction
U should have start with smth simple, like official music videos or maybe other performance where you can see all seven members(coz one member is missing in these performances due to his shoulder injury). It's been days since they performed and I watched the MMA but the black swan's intro still gives me chills
And tis was without a crowd cause it was during pandemic. I prefer 2018 and 2019. They are all fire!!!!!
I love these guys bc they came from a small company and faced so much adversity even in the k-pop industry. They were disregarded cut off from shows and they make their own lyrics and produce which was unheard of then. And now they made what kpop is today. So proud of them. army are so defensive bc of this. Armies supported these boys when they had no money they were going to disband bc lack of $ but the fans showed up bc of their great music, talent, personalities, etc..
You'll be surprised to find out BTS' discography..ya like r&b/neo-soul? You got "Singularity", "Stigma"..you like hip-hop? You got "Respect", "Mic drop" and muuch more since bts were supposed to be a hip-hop group + 2 out of the 3 rappers were underground rappers (funfact lol) ballads? "Epiphany", "Awake" etc. Edm? You got "DNA", almost orchestra-ish songs? "Lie" etc. Pop? "Boy with luv". Rap? "Cypher 1-4" etc etc etccc

If you prefer hip hop and rap I suggest checking out the cypher series with the rap line (definitely with English translations). They are certainly much more than just pop music!
I agree with the songs everyone is suggesting especially Tear. Watch the Tear live performance with English subtitles. Also, “Change” by RM (one of the members and leader of BTS) & Wale is really good.
