Amazing review bro! Not a single spoiler in 20 minutes of insightful review talk, massively impressive! You've made me want to pick this one back up, I've only read the first 6 issues years ago. I did love Moore's art for the reasons you said, but can see how Adlard's stuff grounded the series which was probably exactly what it needed. But now I'm just imagining a world where they both worked on the series the whole way through, where Moore draws the zombies and all the gross bits, and Adlard draws everything else! 🤔😅 Keep up the amazing work mate! 👌
Another great video mate! Love that you remembered to review this considering I forgot i even suggested it on the subreddit months ago! I agree with you on all your points on why this is such a good story! Woof woof!
Reading the whole series in omni format, at book 2 right now and I kind of forgot how horrifyingly evil the governor was and how from that moment humanity really took a turn for the worse
Nice one mate. I've just started TWD so haven't watched the whole vid. I've got the first 3 hardcovers and will pick them up as I go along. Glad to see you back twice in a week lol
That ad placement was 4th wall breaking genius As for TWD it’s no doubt a great series but I can help but think it got to that high mark because of the show as you say it has a rough start due to pacing and lack of vision but it melded into a great journey but yeah…that ending my man Robert ran out of steam but at least he didn’t pull a AMC and turn the walking dead into a MCU wannabe. Great review I give you props not spoiling it hope your doing good and I look forward to your bone review
This video was a journey. So much emotions and passion in this review, you convinced to think that I love this series without even reading the books. Keep up the good work💪💪💪
Marcus, I'm sorry that this is off-topic, but it's killing me that your Captain Britain Omni is before the Captain America by Remender Omni, lol. Great review, though. This series is way too long for me to even buy any time soon, so I'll be putting it off for a while.
The first time I ever attempted to read these, I would have agreed that the amount of subplots was just too much. I gotta say tho, now I feel that they do SO much to immerse you in this world. For me personally, I like knowing that there are no “cookie-cutter” characters thrown in as filler. It honestly made me think even harder about every conflict, because it portrayed all of these people as just that: people. (SPOILER:) A scene that personally struck me was when Billy is shot during the fall of the prison. We have EVERY reason to loathe the Governor, but the even sadder part is that most of his “soldiers” are folks that would probably have no reason to hate Rick’s group. The man who cries after killing Billy could just as easily have been a character we were rooting for, had he not been in the wrong place at the wrong time. The same can be said for a lot of people in the book. Revisiting these for like the 8th or so time, I even see Negan FAR differently than I first did when I finally started these a couple years ago. Regardless, coming back to Volume 29 in the paperbacks, I can feel the story sadly winding down as I always do. I personally wasn’t a fan of the ending, but you’re 100% about when the “peak” was. I always try to tell people that this is SO much more than a “horror” comic. In fact, I never even considered it horror in my mind. Once you get immersed in it, you can see that it really does boil down to being a character-driven drama, just with some scary elements. I think it has far more in common with an unflinchingly-real war film or a soap opera than a generic horror movie. It may be hard to see past the first impression it gives, but it’s honestly the greatest story I’ve read. Despite the whole “zombie” undercurrent”, the series really works diligently to reflect on just about everything that can or has happened to us in life, good or bad, and even at its seemingly bleakest, I always walk away from it with an undercurrent of hope. The Walking Dead is about perseverance and courage, and I couldn’t recommend it enough to anyone! Awesome review, man 👏🏼
I scrolled back quite a ways and didn’t see. Have you read Revival? Id love to see your thoughts on it if you have. I’ve seen more moderate reviews than glowing but I just gushed over that series and I’m always wanting to see how others feel about it
So far only read the first 9 volumes. WD was my first comic outside of the big 2, Its a great read. What I love is the world building and the brutality each character faces especially Ricks arm and what the Governor does to Michhone is despicable. Strangely the villains in the TWD are usually my favourite characters. I'm someone who loved the tv series, yes it went down hill later on but I still appreciate how different it is in comparison. Some of the deaths in the comic actually shocked me. I much prefer Adlards art compared to Tony Moore( I still like his art). This guy knows how to draw zombies. I want them to collect this series in colour one day. I'd probably get em again.😂 My one issue is pacing, it's too fast in the 1st few arcs( I agree with you on that point) while other times far too slow( the prison), I felt like certain characters weren't fleshed out enough so when they are killed off suddenly there wasn't much emotional tie at least to me. I know it was deliberate but that's just me. I still need to buy a few volumes and re-read the series. I actually know the ending but that doesn't put me off from going back. Are the Negan one-shots necessary Marcus?
I haven’t read The Walking Dead yet but I read Outcast by Kirkman and that ending was also very meh. I was so stoked about that story until about the 3/4 mark then it was just like oh……that was so not an epic ending for how amazing the start was. At least the ending made sense tho. I DESPISE when ending are like huh? It all wrapped up but it was just anticlimactic.

I'd still recommend you pick it up. They are a quick read and your best bet is buying the 4 compendiums. Best value wise.
@@stephentheshywarrior2759 Thank you. If I ever do buy it, I'll look for those.

I would love to see that top 10 shocking deaths
Yes top 10 most shocking moments from the walking dead would be awesome 😁
You have to make top fifteen moments in the walking dead that shocked you the most. Would watch the shit out of that

Love getting 2 videos in one week, spoiling us Maddogg. High quality and great watch.😀
Did those aliens arrive at the end which Kirkman lied about to his editor.
🧟...I just recently bought a whole lot of these comic books on eBay...👌🏼 Been watching the show since day one, October 31st, 2010...🤘🏼💯✔️
I actually cannot stand when the world isn’t explained as to why it is the way it is its just a huge pet peeve
