@@darriushoops2372 great point and agree. Just got sent this and sending it to others to help them. Thanks for the video.
This is the best video on tips and tricks!
I have a helpful tip for reading the defensive coverage shell and using it for scheming your dropback pass game:
You want to know before the snap the ball on a drop back passing play whether or not you can "block it up" or if you're "hot", because if you can block it up you can work your pass routes further down the field.
If the defense is in a two deep safety shell, that means there's only 7 defenders that are either in the box or walked over the slot but still near the LOS. These are the defenders that have a short enough run at the QB that if they rush, and nobody is assigned to block them, the QB will be forced to have to get the ball out quick. If you choose not to assign a blocker to each of them, then whatever pass route concept you have called will have to include at least one "quick game" pass route to give the QB a quick option, like:
-Slants
-Stick
-Hitches
-Speed Outs
-Fades vs press
-Flats and swings by RB's and TE's
Well, it's real common in the modern era of the spread to come out in a 3 WR set ("11" personnel). This means you only have 2 RB/TE types on the field. So, if you MAX protect, you'll be protecting with 7. This would mean that vs a two deep safety shell you would have all 7 hot threats blocked up, which in turn would mean that you don't need a quick hot option in your route concept. This is important because with 7 man protection you're only getting 3 routes out, you really need them stemming intermediate / deep / across the field to have the best chance at being able to stress the coverage. When you're not "blocked up", you have to sacrifice at least one route from the downfield intermediate/ deep route tree and replace it with a short route that can serve as a quick hot throw.
Things change when the defense goes to a single high safety shell. Now there's 8 defensive hot threats to the QB. You need 8 in protection if you want to "block it up". The only way you can get this is if you go to a 2 WR personnel group ("12" or "21" personnel). If you come out in a 3 WR formation and the defense is single high, you're gonna be hot. If that logic makes sense to you, the same logic leads to the following rules of thumb:
(Keep in mind when I say you're gonna be hot, it doesn't mean you *have* to throw the quick hot route. It just means there's going to be at least one defender that you'll have to identify as the unblocked "hot" defender, and *if* he rushes, *then* you throw hot. If he drops into coverage, you just complete your drop in the pocket and go through your normal downfield progression for the route concept you have called)
- If you come to the LOS and the D is in a cover 0 shell, you're gonna be hot.
- If you come out in a 4 or 5 WR set, you're gonna be hot
- If you come out in a 3 WR set:
.......and the D is in a single high safety shell, you're gonna be hot
.......and the D is in a two high safety shell, you can "block it up" if you MAX protect
- If you come out in a 2 WR set:
.......and the D is in a single high safety shell, you can "block it up" if you MAX protect
- If you call a play with Empty protection or audible to Emtpy protection, you're gonna be hot
- If you call a play with 6 man protection, unless the defense is in a 3 deep safety shell, you're gonna be hot
- If you call a play with 7 man protection
....... and the D is in a single high safety shell, you're gonna be hot
....... and the D is in a two high safety shell, you're gonna be "blocked up"
- If you call a play with 8 man protection
.......and the D is in a single high safety shell, you're gonna be "blocked up"
Dude, thank you. I haven't played Madden or any newer games and one thing I will honestly say about cfb25 is they are TERRIBLE at explaining things you can do and how to do them to the player. Hell it took me like 15 minutes just to figure out how to pitch the ball during an option. Drills and training doesn't show anything. This video showed me almost every question I had on offense in an 8 minute video that I couldn't figure out in a couple hours of gameplay.
@@PNSinstant I felt that, it seems like when I try to do a read option i have no control on wether the qb gives it to the hb or keeps it. I try to hold x to hand it off but he ends up keeping it 50% of the time
Great video. I've watched too many tutorials of commentary over people just playing the game and actually not describing any of what it is they are doing.
really appreciate that! my goal is to make things easy to understand so you can actually use the info!
Videos like this are keeping me sane as I count down the hours lol
Same
ayyy! lets go!
This video is incredible. Clear, concise, and explained everything I’ve been wanting to know. You need more subs.
Came for the stems. Stayed because there's so much more info in this video. Thanks. you, sir, have earned my subscription.
Yeah I would need to watch it a couple of times just to get the hang of it and then practice. Thank you for your video!
You did a great job teaching this. My face was like this😮!
Incredibly underrated video! Bravo, sir! This needs to be used in a deep dive explaining to the masses what all of it means. Solid work, with amazing graphics and highlights in the video, too.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and type such a thoughtful comment! Glad to hear you found it helpful! 🙌
@@Tall6uy of course!
Man, this is a GREAT video. I haven't played a football video game in about 10 years. I understand the concepts, but I just don't know what I don't know WRT to a feature that is hiding there! THX much, man! Subbed and shared with my bois.
I really appreciate that! Welcome back to game, hope you're having a blast with it! 🙌
MAAAAAAAN thank u for this video!! Definitely got a new subscriber!!
Ayeeeeee! Thanks for the sub!
Thank u sir because last night i played this and have not played a football game in years i was getting smoked lol
Clear and easy to understand you got my sub 🔥
great video, thank you for going in detail on what all the icons and colors mean!
You got it! Glad you found it helpful! 🙌
I like how you explained your video nice and slowed down
Bro after outplaying competition and getting outplayed by competition, I bet my comp seen this vid already/got nore experience than me, shit bro I needed this glooks 🤞🏿
Seriously, thank you… because I’m returning but it looks confusing; great job!
You got it! happy I could help!
Some great stuff in this video
Thank you so much! Glad you found it helpful!
Great job on video! Thanks
Thank you sir!
this was super helpful, thanks man!
Does anyone know what the red exclamation point means over a defensive player (while you're on offense)?? Seems like this only appears when your QB is pretty high rated so I think it's tied to the QB's ability to read the defense.
That means the player is blitzing. It's something you'll only see if your QB has the "Field General" ability. The ability can be one of these tiers and that will determine what it does
Bronze: When on schedule, moderate ability to see post snap blitzers
Silver: When on schedule, moderate ability to see pre snap blitzers who are close to the line of scrimmage
Gold: When on schedule, moderate ability to see pre snap blitzers and coverage shell
Platinum: When on schedule, ultimate ability to see pre snap blitzers, coverage shell, and slight ability to see disguised coverages
@@Tall6uy awesome, thanks so much! that would explain why I'm only seeing it sometimes (I've been doing a million Play Now matchups while trying to pick an offensive playbook before starting a dynasty)
great stuff man, thanks again!
So excited for this game! Tall6uy, thanks for always bringing the best previews!
thank you so much! what school are you going to play with?
Damn. Chad Kroeger know ball.
Nice! I need to find your video that does the same thing for madden. No clue what the symbols over the head were. I thought maybe qb reads, like m for man coverage or something. I don't know why these games don't launch with built in guides ... or why I can't find them if they do exist.
Good stuff. Thx
Always 🙌
Thanks for this!! Definitely needed it
Glad it was helpful! Let's cook 💪
Dude, I’ve been desperate to find an explanation for all the icons displaying above the defenders. Thank you sir. Also, I’m assuming the numbers that appear occasionally are just the coverage shells the defense is initially showing? Obviously it’s not a guarantee with the ability to disguise coverages in this game.
Great job
Whats the difference in the red, green and blue lines? I know red is what man, and blue is double team, but what is green? Is that just gap protection?
Such a helpful video. Kind of a dumb question, but when you look at the routes of the receivers almost all of them will be in yellow but there will be one in red. What does the red mean?
Great video. What are the numbers over the safeties heads? I think it's shell coverage but sometimes it's wrong and sometimes each safety has a different number in the same play.
Dameon over here playing NCAA when he should be fixing that castle
thx bro this helped a lot 🙏
Could someone PLEASE explain what the blue and red lines mean in blocking matchups? 6:46
Red = 1 on 1 match ups
Blue = a Dubble team and usually the next player to be picked up after the double team
I how do you see the receivers routes I can’t see them
@@julian470 you have to hold right trigger instead of left trigger
@@julian470 I’m having this same issue. Coach vision always popping up.
DUDE THANK YOU SO MUCH I WAS MAD THAT THEY DIDNT HAVE IT
Dope that EA hooked up the Witcher with his own channel
Question. When a WR has a multi stem route (a solid color route with a faded route stem off), does the computer just automatically choose which route to run? Or do I have to manually switch it for my receivers?
Awesome. Thanks
You're welcome! 🙌
For offline dynasty's can you play games as other schools too? Or are you limited to the user controlled school?
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it 🙌
Do u free form any of the passes to your WR bulid and if so what’s your settings for the passing and when I tab my button as WR my Qb never lobs it in wr mode in
I find in this game you really need to step up into the pocket most of the time.
Has anyone seen in a video or screenshot the settings and sliders menus. Curious if there are any differences from madden with sliders and penalties
🔥🔥🔥
Lets go! 🙌
So, the circles color under the linemen/ TE/ RB is what denotes the blocking match up to be advantage/even/disadvantage, not the color of the lines ?
Or it is the lines? I’m just confused why vs Kennesaw state all of the lines where red for Ohio state
Correct. The weird part is the blocking matchups colors don't appear on the matchups tab of coach vision. you need to look at the blocking tab of coach vision to see that.
@@Tall6uy sorry, could you be a bit more clear, am I correct for it’s the circle color under the lineman or the color of the lines?
? Do u know if the games has the ability to do d pad ?
I was watching my friend play and when the CPU was on offense, it had a WR running downfield with a (?) above it, what does that mean?
that means the stadium pulse has effected your QB and that player. So the offensive player would have trouble throwing to that player without his icon showing up. For it to happen to the CPU that means the CPU decision making is also effected.
@@Tall6uy thanks 🙏
The combinations in this game will be endless
for sure! it's gonna be a great year!
why can’t i see the plays before the snap
Let's goooo
💪💪
Baaic question: When you’re about to snap the ball how do you see the routes your players are about to run. I’m starting every play blind at the moment whereas on madden you press L2
Same issue. Sometimes I’m always stuck in coach vision so I can’t see routes or audibles. It’s making me not even want to play the game.
Why can't i snap the ball
after i pick a play, how tf do i see the routes?
@@marafty3776 r2
Remember you must do all these adjustments every play and hopefully within 5 seconds or else the ball will be snapped and you're cooked
These are just what's available. The more you know the better you can adjust!
i cant see my wr routes when im playing qb, anyone know why?
hold RT to pull up the play art. Sometimes if you're the away team the stadium pulse will effect your ability to see some of your routes
@@Tall6uyI’m also having this issue. I can’t see the route or snap the ball sometimes because Coach vision be stuck on the screen. How do I remove Coach vision?
nobody will say how to send a wr in motion?????? with
If anyone having any payment issues on xbox call them its a glitch in there system they told me wasn't going to get the game until aug 5😂
