I can afford Max/FER/RB... but going to hold off 1 more race at least. I think you can build more budget using a Sainz or Leclerc with Stroll, might be worth scraficing a few points to more budget in the long term. It is tempting to switch to Max though
Exactly this. I posted above also. LEC STR FER RED will get a lot of value. STR should climb up in value considerably until he reaches $15m because he is banded with all the budget drivers when it comes to price changes.
You certainly could. But -10s are not absolute must use for wildcard. I think there may be another template shift later in the season (think McLaren upgrades) that would be more valuable to use
I am able to bring up Max Verstappen without a -10 as I have 3 free transfers. My current team is the same as you do, but I have 105.5M of budget. I was thinking to wait one more week with a no Verstappen build, even maybe “downgrading” my Leclerc for Sainz (in hopes of a bigger price change) and having this build: Sainz (or Leclerc) X2, Stroll, KMgag, Tsunoda, Hulk, Ferrari, Red Bull But at the same time, it is very tempting to go with Max as he is the best X2 That lineup would look like this: Max X2, KMag, Albon, Sargent, Bottas, Ferrari, Red Bull Would you prioritize a possibly bigger price change before going for the Verstappen build for the sprint, or go right away with the Max build? As always thanks for the videos, and hopefully the overtakes situation is solved as soon as possible, as it is very annoying as a fantasy player.
Opinion on having McLaren for Japan (alongside Max and Ferrari)? I really think this will be one of, if not their strongest track all year due to the abundance of high speed corners. If I go this route I will likely look to swap them out after this race in favour of more red bull/Ferrari picks.
Thanks as always Rob and yes lets hope they get their act together next weekend on the calculations. The somewhat perfunctory answer they sent you didn't fill be with hope. Let's see though. With all the chatter of maybe waiting one more week to build more budget before you take on Max again. I'm just not sure it's worth the risk even though a lot of folk seem to think they will be safe in waiting, but maybe that information from fantasy tools will help. I just don't want to miss the boat. i think you made that point pretty well. 👊🏻
Cheers Mike! I think the acknowledgment from them was encouraging, but hopefully we see more tangible changes soon! I’m definitely hoping budget building, based on the fantasy tools news, rewards those that can’t get to max immediately. Will have to break those prices down a little bit more
I feel like bringing in Max isn’t going to be contributing as much as the Ferrari’s reducing the risk with the cheap line up and going for value add is probably a better play
I felt your pain, Rob ... that was an infuriating wait for the final results. Interesting that they didn't seem to give a reason for the huge delay. I ran exactly the same team as you and the $3M+ budget increase has put me into the exclusive RBR+FER+MAX club (along with a whole bunch of other people at this point it seems!). You must be gutted to be just $0.2M short ... bad luck, mate. I'm hoping that last race was a minor blip in Max's results. I'm currently sitting at #24 in your league and looking to crack the top 20! 😁
Thanks Glenn! A great weekend for us both. I’m not too disappointed if I can’t get to Max right now, I think there is a lot of opportunity to continue to build budget with assets like Ferrari, stroll and haas
Now we have a clear picture on how price changes work we know even if Max wins in Japan he will only go up .2M. I’m thinking of holding off on buying him for one more week in the hope the rest of my team’s budget increases so for China i can have a better line up alongside Max than both Williams and both Kick drivers...
I'm definitely leaning one more race of budget building even though I can afford Max/RB/FER. Also trying to roll a transfer into China. That being said, do you replace Albon or Zhou (Zhou has Albon beat in the last two races in Japan), and who do you replace them with? Even though Haas has looked better is Yuki the better bet in his home race? I have the same team as you but with Sainz.
F1 fantasy does take a long time to update, but it is not far off the mark with MotoGP (which offers a far superior fantasy experience, in my opinion). Thanks for the video.
I am (apparently similar) to many others, unsure if I should switch to the Max team immediately, or stick with LEC/SAI + STR to try to build more Budget still. What would you do Rob?
I think that if the Ferrari upgrades for Suzuka look good, I could move from PER to LEC/SAI as my 2x Drs driver, keeping RED - FER of course. I think the 1M increases from LEC/SAI and the 0.5M increases from MAG/HUL should be good for big budget gains. Then in Miami, I will bring in VER with something like MAG - HUL - ALB - ZHO as my other drivers. That said, if the Red Bulls are the heavy favourites in practice, I will keep PER, roll a transfer, and likely move to VER with those junky budget drivers for the upcoming sprints.
On one of my teams I can afford the Verstappen Red Bull Ferrari so I’ve gone for that with a wildcard, on my main team I really messed up by going Aston Mercedes in Saudi after Mercedes Ferrari in Bahrain, then Aston Ferrari in Australia with Max DRS a constant, points aren’t great now and I can’t afford Max Red Bull and Ferrari on my main team, but it does open me up to a Mclaren Ferrari build with stronger secondary drivers vs the Red Bull Ferrari teams, and with Perez already looking weak it could be a blessing in disguise imo
Currently i have the budget for Redbull, Ferrari, Max, Hulk, K Mag, Logan and Bottas. I think though that there is more value with Redbull, Ferrari, Leclerc, Stroll, Hulk, K mag, Yuki. It's Yuki's home race, his form has been good. I don't think Logan and Bottas will do well - they might lose me points which Max cannot make up for. And in any case I can always change to max in shanghai
I am in the exact same situation as you. I think I might go with the Leclerc build, but I am even considering going with Sainz instead of him, as I have 3 free transfers, and I think Sainz can have a bigger price increase.
What is your opinion on My Team [Ferrari,Aston Martin| Leclerc, sainz, Hulkenburg, magnussen, Ocon]. I was thinking of changing One Ferrari driver for a mclaren driver but Ferrari Performens is really good and i dont Like that i have to haas drivers whats your opinion? Look I mean I totally understand that having a long wait for points and ur right. If you are a huge company like F1 you should have stuff done in a timely manner but I mean I can’t see this destroying the player base especially when more often than not the next race is 2 weeks away giving plenty of strategy time in between. Even with races the next week this is fine. Again I totally agree it can be aggravating to wait so so long and I definitely try and keep refreshing my browser for updated stats on the site. However I just don’t see that issue changing the player base super drastically.
It is frustrating though, that most other fantasy sports only need a couple of hours to do this, yet F1 take more time to update their score than a Sauber pit stop. I've seen a lot of players in the community in the last couple of years leave the game over less, so I wouldn't be surprised if this drives away others next season if not fixed

Pit stops are tricky. A driver can gain/ lose position while neither being passed nor pass. Not sure about official point results delay grumbling, setting your team until last hours to lockout negates any rush. Imagine Yuki starts P20, gains P10 on track, has horrible Pitstop, renters P20, and finishes P10. Calculating that without access to the sector timers, could be tedious.
I have settled on going budget builder mode for now. I think my best team for next week is probably RBR FER LEC STR MAG HUL TSU with BOT SAR turning into HUL TSU. With Haas clearly being good, and Tsunoda gradually improving plus home race. Switching LEC out to PER or SAI would be a decision I could also make depending on practice data but I hope I don’t have to do it. The next 3 races will be about building budget to have the most dominant team from Imola onwards.
Yeah definitely agree Leaps. Once the upgrades come in for the euro races and we have enough budget, I think it will separate those that have higher team values and can afford more premium assets. These next few races will be key

ZHO to HUL is the move I would say. You don’t want KCK drivers with their pit stops. Wildcard to be used when you can afford MAX FER RED + another Tier 2 driver ($15m - $24.9m).
Given the info we now have about price changes, tiers & thresholds, LEC/PER/SAI + RED + FER + STR (until he is $15m) is an absolute lock.
