Cameron Mcadoo is a professional Motocross and Supercross racer for the famed Pro Circuit Kawasaki Team in the US. Cam was the hero of the Supercross world earlier this year after battling back to a podium spot after one of the more spectacular crashes in recent memory. I will also say, it has been a long time since I have done a podcast with an athlete as driven and focused as Cameron Mcadoo.

I raced a pro circuit Honda CR125 back in the day, and coming from a stock bike I was totally shocked how different it was….the thing just kept pulling and pulling. Will never forget that day ha.
How’d you end up racing that? I’m jealous!
My favorite pro circuit bikes were from the RC era of 97-98 with the Splitfire/1-800-COLLECT livery.... so badass!
Yeah man, the Spitfire KX 125 was so sick. I agree for 125s. For 250s I like RC’s Honda with the Woody graphics. I’d 💯 give my left nut for that bike.
@@jcobra09 i watched RC win his first pro race in Atlanta 1997 on that splitfire kx125. He was straight ripping on that thing. He was still hitting the triples when all the other guys had started doubling.
He ain’t gonna tell you the truth, Mitch Payton would stand up and walk across the room to slap and fire him. Haha

So AJ made a comment about that on his last race. You can’t keep up with them when you take off from the gate they have so much more power it’s ridiculous. Aj is riding a new CRF 250R with a production motor.

I rode a 2015 kx250f with a the full pro circuit kit. The guy who owned it claimed it was a factory bike can't remember what rider but it was supposedly someone's practice bike. Thing was nuts! So much top end. It was still pulling when a stock bike was bouncing Rev limiter. I am not a kawi guy at all but that was probably the best bike I'd ever ridden.
Now imagine if that was the race bike.a practice bike in most cases, doesn't have all of the trick bits that the race bike does.the race engine will be kept for race days,sure the factory practice bike isn't a standard motor etc, but it's not the race day spec,so if the practice bike is nuts, just imagine dude...
I’m so out of shape I can barely hold on to my 21 kx250f. I can’t imagine what a full blown factory bike feels like.
I had full factory Pro circuit exhaust on my last CR250 and it just hit different never rode another 250 or any 2 stroke that had a power curve like that bike did what Mitch can do is so unique.

The kawi has great bottom and power not as much as the Yamaha, where the Kawasaki really shines is the high RPMs this thing revs to God you get a lot of usability out of each gear which I find helps a lot in races and sticky situations. Overall a fantastic bike

It is a privilege to be on a Factory bike.
Yaa maybe for a magazine test rider, but the people that are being PAID TO BE ON THEM, it is a position earned by their talent & abilities AND it is their job. Riddle me this: if BEING on a FACTORY BIKE was sooooooo awesome & such a prize 🏆, why do they FACTORY RIDERS take their paychecks?? Why do they EVER STOP RIDING THEM & just retire before some people even get married & start a family??
Like they say, no matter how hot some woman or factory bike is, somewhere someone is tired of them or it, added a bit to that bit for the example that ultimately a person has got to really want to RIDE whichever unit from above or there really is nothing awesome or magic about it.

@@jonruger The main point of my post was in relationship to the TOTAL PERCENTAGE of the PC team racers that are NOT able to compete by the end of any/all given series, juxtaposed to the rest of the teams on the roster, hence thee ""PC CURSE"" & yes, agreed that the tracks were ""TOO"" lame/same/stupid the last few years & so far this year is showing a lot more imagination & thought going into the layouts, ""TWO"" thumbs up from me!!!
With enough money you could obtain anything, but the pinnacle race machines like 1 of those bikes isn't really obtainable cuz they're always evolving. Everything is 1 off, purpose built custom part. There's not 1 piece on there that's interchangeable with a new Kawasaki that doesn't need sum attention to it for it to work for them.

I don’t like it when team members wear the exact same gear. Don’t get me wrong, the gear looks sick, but when every rider is wearing the same shit it is just boring. Gear is one way that riders can express a little personality…which is totally lacking in the sport right now. Everyone trains the same, talks the same, looks the same etc…i just want something a little different.
