This song shows us some of the 5+ octave range Avi has, from the low basso profound he honed in his operatic and classical training in college to the upper registers he can reach with that same training. And he still trains his voice. While any song you listen to in his ever-growing solo catalog is great, for an example of the intimacy he can achieve in a song, check out the 7 Layers Sessions video of his original song “All Is Well”, which was filmed in a church in Utrecht, Netherlands during his 2022 European tour. Then, for a 180, check out his most recent video, “Move Our Souls”, which is literally fiery.

All five of them have amazing solo voices, but Avi always hit me differently. I don't just hear him sing, I feel him sing. I'm glad you are doing PTX Christmas songs. They are incredible.

I love Avi's voice. You should check out some of his solo work when you get a chance. Many of his songs have helped a lot of folks get through rough times.

I love Avi in this one. Any time he got to sing lead in PTX was special, and his bass is always amazing.
And I always love it when Kevin sings!

Love this one! Avi's voice is just so rich and full whether in higher or lower register.
Yes, definitely check out Avi's solo music! Cheers!

My absolute favorite Christmas song of theirs....and Avi is a major part of why. They all sound beautiful but Avi in this is sublime.

The First Noel is one of my favorite Pentatonix arrangements and I don't know why it isn't more popular. It reminds me of their "Hallelujah" in the way the dynamics ebb and flow.

One of the more traditional takes on a famous carol. The harmonies just blow me away. Each little lead part was so perfectly done. Glad it was in your list!

I've always said that Avi has the voice I wish I had (I sang bass in various choral groups from Jr. High through College). Such range and a wonderful tone.
And definitely check out his solo work. Very indy/folk-rock in style, and of course his spectacular voice.
I think that Matt is the only one who hasn't released any solo projects yet.
Kevin has his own channel and does some incredible "KOvers" of songs as well as some original work.
Kirstin released a solo EP album a few years back ("L O V E") with some really good original songs (and a few of them with live "acoustic" versions)
Mitch has done several songs, and an EP (under the stage name "Messer") that show off his amazing talents.
Scott recently released his first full solo album after several singles.
That's the beauty of Pentatonix... a group of 5, each of whom could easily be the lead singer for their own group or solo work, but when they work together, they leave their egos at the door and combine their great talent into a spectacular blend that's greater than the sum of its impressive parts.

Most gorgeous version of this that exists. I love Mitch’s solo work. His cover of Your Power is amazing. I also greatly appreciate his solo work (as Messer). It’s VERY VERY different than what PTX does, but I love his creativity, his passion, his lyrical brilliance, and of course, his one-of-a-kind voice. I don’t understand all that he does (lyrically and visually in his videos), but I don’t really need to in order to still appreciate it.

🎄Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!🎄
    A wonderful christmas song -
Diana Ankudinova & Brandon Stone (piano) - What a Wonderful World (the best cover of a wonderful song by the legend Louis Armstrong).
Diana Ankudinova - Queen of Goosebumps - Diana received such a title for her extraordinary unique voice.
Also among Diana's best works are covers of Derniere Danse, Wicked Game, Can't Help Falling in You, OST Dune and OST James Bond (Art of Hans Zimmer)
Each of these performances garnered over a thousand reactions.

When a group member leaves, of course there are always multiple factors. In the 2-3 years before Avi left, the group had been developing a huge fan base, awards, etc. and were building on that by touring extensively. Avi is on the introverted side, and relies on spending time in nature to refresh his spirit, and of course touring is mostly crowded buses, hotels, theaters and cities, with little time to get away. And he also had a family member with health problems, so when they did get some down time he was flying home to be with family. I also suspect that the fact that he was four years older than the "trio" (Scott, Kirstin and Mitch) was a factor. At that age, four years makes a difference.

I highly recommend all their solo work. Some may be more to one’s liking than others, but it’s all excellent. At the top of the list should be a cover of Down by Kevin. He’s a marvel. All of Scott’s songs are amazing as well. My favorite of Mitch’s is a cover of Billie Eilish’s Your Power done on his rooftop in LA during Covid accompanied by a recording of his own piano playing.

All current members plus Avi, have non-PTX music, and ALL of it is well worth a listen. Matt doesn't have too much, yet, but I'm sure we'll hear more from him. The rest have A LOT! There are solo EPs, single releases, and collaborative side projects from all of them. Mitch's are under the name "Messer," and Kirstin's is under her first name, only. Dive in! We're here for it!

I am running way late with holiday goings-on, but this one makes me emotional too. Thank you. Yes, definitely react to Avi's solo work. I usually recommend a different one to start, but "All is Well: 7 Layers Session" is a gentle hug that would fit quite well with the season. I am unabashedly biased toward Avi's tender voice (and the blend when they contrast him with Mitch is just extra goodness).

It's not falsetta... that's a mix of his chest and head voice... Mitch is a counter tenor.

All outside PTX projects are worthy, tbh. I'm going to just say it even though people will come for me... I don't like Mitch's solo work despite him being my favorite within the group. He's talented but his genre isn't for me. On the other hand, I did really like his earlier covers and I *love* Superfruit - Mitch and Scott's duo they retired in 2019. Scott's solo work is also really good, though I haven't kept up with it (or any of them) for the past year. And Kevin's stuff is crazy. Kirstin also has an EP. I'd heard like two years ago that Matt was working on something with a church choir but I don't know if anything came of it... he might be the only one without official solo work, though there *are* some videos of him solo and as a frontman when he was in college.
