omg I'm so hype for this ok so let's break it down, it's gonna be a long one! so Canibus was on a song with LL called 4 3 2 1 and at first LL didn't like Canibus verse, felt disrespected so he has Canibus change his verse and says he'll do the same, however LL doesn't change his verse and throws subliminals at Canibus. After a while Canibus disses LL and LL fires back. Now this is where Em gets involved because Canibus thinks that Em was a ghostwriter for LL's diss! Remember back then Canibus was said to be the next big thing. Canibus asks Em if he wrote LL's diss, Em says no, but Canibus doesn't really believe him. Then Em blows up and Canibus's album flops. So now that Em is in the spotlight Canibus wants to do a song together. Em was busy so he couldn't make it, Canibus gets more pushy and impatient, he sends Em a verse but Em's not so into it plus he feels like there were shots fired at LL and sublims to him as well so he says no. Then Canibus starts throwing jabs and lots of sublims, Em disses him too and it goes on and on and on... now what makes this diss here so great is the fact that Em never took him seriously, hence the playful silly beat, the comedic aspect, the song constructed as a bedtime story which is a nod to Slick Rick's song etc. and even tho not everyone will get it, he goes after Canibus with stuff that'll get under his skin like saying he's from Canada because LL was the first to say something like that plus no one really knew where he was from, then "Stan Lives" was a skit off one of Canibus's albums where he's in a car on a bridge and sees Stan jumping off the bridge and calls the cops and Stan is rescued sth like that, and because Canibus was really acting like a Stan, the line "99% of my fans are blond" so Canibus was the first to use the line "99% of your fans wear heels" in the LL diss, then LL said "99% of your fans don't even exist" so Em flipped it again. Another thing about the "Germaine propane" bar, Canibus’s real name is Germaine and in one of his songs he refers to himself as Germaine propane, plus it's a double taking shots at Dupri too. The silver paint thing, Canibus really did that at an awards show or something, the "wherefore art thou" is another jab at Canibus because of his style which was very philosophical and complicated.
