Gotta admit, didn't think they could keep a franchise like this so fresh up until #4. Keanu is killing it! Once again, John Wick doesn’t disappoint.
That wouldn't have been the case if they turned it into the Fast and furious franchise. I'm sure all the suits were like "MAKE 10 of them!" but the actual smart folks making this were like "Nah"

The way John Wick has kept a far more consistent level of quality than The Matrix films... Is it safe to say Wick is now Keanu Reeves' true gold franchise?
100% it is. The John Wick series is one of, if not, the best action series of all time

The big appeal (at least partly) of The Matrix was how "cool" everything looked. The appeal of John Wick is that it's just 100% badass every movie from beginning to end.
Both of them have flat-out distorted their genres, but the Matrix was a 1-shot wonder, while the Wick series has only gotten better, and has spawned a number of side projects that could become extremely good (eg. The Continental show and The Ballerina movie). In particular, the Wick series' use of long action shots and the amazing cinematography is likely going to put it in film schools for decades as a model.

"He just jumps on the car". Im glad Sheera notices almost everything. John knows he cant dodge it in time so he just jump and roll on the windshield. The little details in these movies is insane
i get u bro. the way he jumps reduces the damage he's taken.
but the way he falls twice from 30+ meters (just from this movie), gets wrecked on 200+ staircases, and is still able to lift his toe, is insane.
I love that the ending has just enough mystery where you’re satisfied if they leave him dead but it’s not completely illogical if Keanu Reeves wants to come back and do another.
Number 5 is on the way with Wick in it.

When John said "Take me home" I had this gut wrenching feeling that he meant with his wife, in the graveyard, because that was the last time he truly had a home, it was with his wife.
It's amazing how we still have actors like Harrison Ford going at it one last time as Indiana Jones at 80yrs of age, we got Tom Cruise finishing off his final M:I movies at 60yrs of age, and Keanu Reeves going at it once again as John Wick at 58yrs of age. That definitely says something about these Hollywood legends right here.
And they're going strong, too. Cruise's latest stunt involves a motorcycle, a cliff, and a parachute lol, and of course no stunt doubles. Matt Damon tells a hilarious story about how Tom Cruise just keeps going through "safety guys" til he finds one that will approve the crazy s**t he comes up with.
It also says these young actors can’t carry a franchise.
I think it says they just really love acting and they love their craft, I have nothing but the utmost respect for actors like this that give it their all, I hate how it worked out for Harrison but I can still appreciate his dedication

A prequel would be pretty fun, especially if they threw in a few close calls with his eyes or maybe some good-natured blind jokes with a blind common friend... maybe even a blind master that taught them both at some point.
fun fact: the reason the bowery king exists is because lawrence fishburn really liked the first movie so he asked keanu to put in a good word for him, so the writers came up with the role specifically because of larence fishburn

Clancy Brown who was also the villain in Dexter New Blood and Mr. Crabs in SpongeBob was also Long Feng (the leader of the Dai Li) in Avatar The Last Airbender and Yakone (Amon's father) in Avatar The Legend of Korra. He was also Lex Luthor in the DCAU (DC Animated Universe) in Superman The Animated Series, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited.
Such an icon. Honestly I always recognize him by his voice before his appearance even in live action pieces

I saw it in theaters this year and tbh i wasn't expecting this movie to be not only epic but also very surprising. I don't regret seeing this movie.

I love Koji's sacrifice because besides his code of honor of brotherhood its also that he KNOWS that he and his daughter will be chased after by the high table for the treason of helping John Wick. It's the reason why when Caine said, "take care of your daughter" Koji responded with "I AM." Him & his daughter know that Winston's concierge Charon was killed as a consequence. Don't forget, HIS DAUGHTER AKIRA IS HIS CONCIERGE 😢

What do you have to say about the stupid elements of the franchise?
The running theory on the ending is John and Cain planned the duel together, with John being poisened by that last stab by Cain before they get to the top. They kept missing on purpose to get closer with John betting that the Marquis de Gramont would want to get a glory kill. Cain gets free from the table & secures his daughter's safety and John faking his death gets his freedom too. John's dog acting spooked at the end kinda implies he sensed John somewhere.
That's kinda what I figured because the dog was looking in his direction

What I love about the ending is that it's open to interpretation as to whether he's dead or not. Notice that John was shot in the same two spots where he shot the doctor in the third one.

caine and his daughter were freed because the marquis released him from service before he got killed, that's why he didn't have to die too.
i actually thinks the ending is perfect. like he gained his freedom and he has nothing else to fight for. the reason he fought in the beginning was revenge and he got that, he fought for freedom and he got that. He died a legend.

Hiroyuki Sanada truly is underappreciated. He stays being THE Japanese swordsman in every film despite the man being in his 60s.
Yep, I'll always remember him playing my childhood hero Hayato Gen in the early tokusatsu serie Ginga Taisen (sometimes renamed San-ku-kai or San-kuo-kai in some countries) in 1979/80. I think he was around 18 back then (his character was 17).

john vs scott adkins was my favorite fight hands down. It also had my favorite music out of the whole movie. The music helped me beat the final boss in jedi survivor on grand master.

I have never been as physically exhausted in a movie theater as I was for John Wick Chapter 4!
During the entire 3rd act we go from one of the most intense car chase / car fighting scene, to one of the best shot action sequences I have ever seen during the abandoned building fight scene. I felt my fingers go into the same crab claw shape when I play video games on pure reflex when it started to look like so many LITERALLY over the top games I grew up on!
THEN we get the insane stair fight, which every single step John fell down I practically felt just watching. Then we finally get to the duel and thank god It was long enough in the end that we saw the look on the Marquis’s face when he realized he fucked up!🤣🤣🤣
As for the ending, it’s recently been announced that they are working on John Wick Chapter 5, plus I already believed he survived because the perfect retirement is where everyone thinks you’re dead.
I have to mention this. Your channel is probably the only channel where I never skip the intro part because the animation plus the music is so epic.
10/10 movie. 10/10 franchise. Killa was a beast!

The actor in the fat suit was Scott Adkins. He's a real martial artist and he's famous for action movies like the Undisputed franchise. You might have known him from the Expendables franchise and he sometimes appears in movies as mini boss level types of villains.
The opening quote is from Dante, and is Lucifer descending into hell ("Abandon all Hope Ye Who Enter Here" is engraved on the door). The metaphor is The Bowery King unleashing hell (Wick) on the Table. Also, they had better hope that hell isn't real in this universe, because John Wick getting sent there is how you get the Doom Slayer.
You gotta remember johns suit is bulletproof, a lot of times you think they miss they might be hitting his suit.

Like i knew i luved this series but really didnt know how much till that end, the homage to bebop at the end of the ride really hit me hard and got a little tear swelling up. that shit blew my mind : D
I loved the reference to "The Warriors" in the 3rd act.
I really wanna see what they're going to do with caine from now on. I think people might have missed it but his name is the same as the biblical caine, the one who killed his brother. And in this movie he does that twice, first with koji and then with john. Plus his character is basically what john would have been if he had accepted the elder's deal in parabellum.
Some punsihment might be in order because now he's just walked away scot-free (before the post-credits scene at least), and maybe he could understand some of the lessons his dead friends where trying to teach him.
What lesson?

And a little bit later when he stabs John's hand and tells him it's nothing personal. John goes along with it because they're still friends but I don't think most normal people would appreciate getting stabbed through the hand wether it's personal or not.
Also, if somebody threatened John's loved ones you know damn well his first thought would be to start killing people.

Honestly, my favorite part of the movie was that whole top-down sequence, where John was blowing everybody away with the exploding shotgun rounds. I couldn't stop laughing through that whole bit. 🤣
Seriously though, I also liked Caine's motivation for helping John get to the duel on time, because he understood what was at stake. After all, that whole agreement he made with the Marquis was contingent on his participation in the duel. If John had been declared in forfeit, the Marquis would have had no reason to keep his word and he would have reneged on the deal. So, win, lose or draw, that duel had to go down. It was the only way Caine could guarantee his daughter's safety (if not necessarily his own).
As much as I love this movie, the stair scene before the final duel was wild. 🤣

I absolutely love how the ending of this film can be interpreted into two ways, one that finally ends Johnathan Wick's Story has finally come to a close ( but there can always be a prequel on how he became The Boogeyman ) or that he's secretly alive ( probably living a peaceful life for the rest of his days, no more fighting. Or no more John, the loving husband, but The Boogeyman )

Pure action movies are not for everyone. Besides, which each new movie they get more successful, they have managed to build a loyal fanbase and attract more people everytime, it's no small feat.
That reference to The Warriors put the biggest smile on my face. I love that movie.
