3:08 Aaron comparing a Laurence Fishburne character with a Samuel L. Jackson character is hilarious to me. I can just hear Sam in my head, “We don’t all look the same!”
I remember Laurence telling a story about some random guy across the street shouting at him "WHAT DO THEY CALL A QUATER POUNDER WITH CHEESE IN PARIS?" and Laurence shouted back "FUCK YOU!"
For the card scene, the playing cards have just a tiny bit of ink on them to make the numbers and symbols. Caine senses are so heightened that he can feel how the ink makes up the numbers on the corner, which is very impressive. I think it's neat that this movie reunited Donnie Yen and Scott Adkins who plays Killa. Fun fact: In the lore, the writers confirmed that after the High Table appointed Killa to the head seat of the Germany section of the organization, he basically let himself go and gained a lot of weight. Prior to that, he was a talented and strong killing machine. Scott Adkins thoroughly enjoyed the idea of putting on a fat suit to fight John Wick. It was a bit challenging but so awesome to see. If anyone didn't remember, Scott also played the evil drill instructor that Donnie Yen fought as Ip Man in Ip Man 4: The Finale and has been in a lot of action films. Also, minor thing that was entertaining when a bunch of us went to see this in theaters. There's a lot of Cantonese speakers where I live. All of us were absolutely thrilled every time Caine gave us tidbits of Cantonese dialogue, especially the cussing moments. XD
Not even a Cantonese speaker, but I know "Pokgai" from Sleeping Dogs and thoroughly enjoyed hearing it. A lot of times I see translations of it in movies to "jerk", but I know how bad it really is lol. Scott Adkins can't help but fight the legendary action movie protagonists in the 4th movie and being defeated before they die.
You can also clearly see that Killa was good at fighting too, even though he is fat, he is flexible enough and he uses his body weight and strength to his advantage.
And what a debut that was. The only woman action star with a better debut would probably be Michelle Yeoh, who had no martial arts training when she became a martial arts action star after her very first movie.
@@rushpan93people will say Extraction 2, which really doesn't broach this. Or Mission Impossible number whatever, which no doubt is amazing but still, it's so obvious JW 4 is better. Lmao. Well, we have to account for all the killing John did from a teenager to his late 40's when he first retired, including his impossible task, and then the John Wick movies. Probably closer to 70%. ;)
The fall down the stairs is an adaption of Sisyphus pushing the boulder in Tartarus, only to have it fall at the top. Another layer to the "impossible task" nature of the John Wick movies.

Watching it in the cinema was the best as other people lost it when he was trying to get up the stairs but kept falling. They were literally shouting out "Just let the man up there"
As far as like John actually accomplishing anything goes i always felt like the whole reason he gets back in, in the 1st movie is because the world he did everything to leave came back to him and stole the most meaningful thing to him which is the ability to finally mourn and process death as his own person and not a killer and so he’s been kind of getting that revenge against them But also i think he wanted to ability to die and be with his wife having been free of that world again. So he does all this so that when he dies he was no longer apart of that world he left for his wife
In all three movies, he loses little pieces and memories of his wife, until here where he's "a ghost searching for his grave." If you get into all the religious and mythological symbolism of all the John Wick movies, his "death" is a high sign of his freedom. He completed another impossible task.
You guys being so quiet during the fight scene in the courtyard with Caine and Koji was top tier. That was exactly how I was when I first watched it. Wow
Thank you Aaron for paying attention to John's dog at grave sight. I caught that first time and no one in reaction videos has caught it but you. That dog knows.
It has been fun watching ya'll reacting to every John Wick film 😎. What a remarkable franchinse that in many ways has changed or influenced hollywood action films 😎.
I love how this movie somewhat merges the eastern and western styles of weapon use. I love how John uses his nunchucks and wraps them around his neck when he needs to use another weapon. The way he does it has a gunslinger vibe to it. Speaking of, I love the little homages to the Dollars trilogy like with Caine's pocket watch being similar to A Few Dollars More and the final duel obviously echoing The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Also, Akira is played by singer, Rina Sawayama in her first film and was hired by the director after he saw her choreography on her various music videos. The end credits song was also performed by her which was just great.
However, the director in his interview with Joe Rogan did say that he could continue and build on the idea that "maybe John died and found peace, but not the babayaga". But I would be greatly disappointed if they don't leave it at this perfect ending
I believe the director said he played a lot of Hotline Miami through the making of the John Wick films, which is why we got a few video game-esque camera angles since John Wick 2. The Dragon Breath scene here was actually partially designed by a video game designer, and the camera angle and John's movement was both a reference to Hotline Miami and to John Wick Hex, the video game that came out after JW2. John Wick even had some of the same moves he had in Hex, and the return of the classic John Wick dubstep song not only serves to make it feel like a level in a JW game, but also brings everything full circle. I love this movie so much.
I think should react to the Percy Jackson Series coming out like next year. It's going to be Lance's last performance ever, and he'll be playing the role of Zeus, with opposite him Captain Flint from Black Sails as Poseidon.
The Berlin sequence will forever be my favorite, it holds the personal element we haven't since since the First Movie (you see it on Wick's face), and it brings in every aspect of the franchise we've seen and elevates it.
Seeing this movie, in theaters, the day it released was incredible. I remember pulling my phone out at one point, n noticing 2+ hours had gone by. In no way did it feel like it. It’s pretty amazing when u realize each film just gets better, one after the other. When the overhead one shot happened, the theater I was in lost it. 🤣 Easily one of the best one shots in all of film. Gotta say though, seeing Lance Reddick get killed off was shocking. Me n my dad were like woah. Can’t Believe that just happened. Makes even more sense y the cast n crew were even more heartbroken, when they were at the films premiere. Can’t imagine what the energy was in that theater, when that moment happened. R.I.P. Lance Reddick. 💐🕊️ Curious to c where they go from here. Already aware that “Ballerina” n “The Continental” series is otw. The 4th film did well at the box office. Keanu said he’d b up to do more, as long as the films r received positively. Time will tell. 👏👏
I don't even care if the spin offs are worth anything (the Ballerina already looks set up for failure by the studio), each movie gets better and the first one was already a legendary action movie. It will stand the test of time as one of, if not the best action series ever.
John Wick 3 is my favorite. It easily has the best action imo. The library fight (killing a dude with a book!!!), the knife fight, the horse fu, the dog fu, the motorcycle fight, the video game style sequence near the end where he’s battling enemies and moving up to the next level to fight the next wave before eventually fighting the final boss. And I loved the beginning, counting down the minutes before his excommunication goes into effect.
Amazing movie! A few people I know think John taking all those hits and falls, and still make it up the stairs, is unrealistic. I think however that it was established in the 1st movie already that he is a man of focus, commitment and sheer fucking will! He held himself together until the job was done, but he was actually pretty damaged.
I wasn't expecting much from this film when I went and watched it when it came out, thought it would be fun but nothing special but I was blown away but how incredible this film was.
Rewatching the duel I feel like they spoke to each other in code. "Those who cling to death live and those who cling to life die" the overall reaction of Cane and Winston, even Harbinger seems to know what that means and John gets shot in non-lethal spots that the doctor told him to shoot in 3. They've already confirmed a sequel and John Wick without the man himself doesn't make sense.
And when Caine gets shot the second time he responds “nice” which could be him realising John hit him in that spot specifically and works out his plan.
FInal conclusion: So long as the script is good, they'll keep making them. Credit to Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski for keeping up the quality and not retreading the plots and fights.
There is an amazing breakdown from Heavy Spoilers here on RUclips and he talks about all the great visual storytelling and how the whole John Wick Saga is a telling of the story for Abel ( I think). There's also a thing about how the color tone during fight scenes are used to tell who has the advantage with blue being Wick, Red being Enemies and i think purple or something for a Tied fight. So much to these movies and man they're just perfection.
When this movie came out in cinemas, I didn't have anyone to go with. I never regreted going alone because I would forever regret not going at all. John Wick 4 is the perfect ending to a perfect franchise. Personally, this is the best action franchise ever, and John Wick 4 might just be the best action movie of all
It feels rude to say but the way lance reddicks character reacts to the shot and the fact there isn’t an over the top splat and he just falls is really well done
I absolutely love this movie. I got Cowboy Beebop vibes from that scene. Those who have seen it all know what I mean. I like to think Mr. Nobody is from the same group the main character from the movie "Nobody" is from both were Mr. Nobody and highly skilled killers with a military feel.
It's time play a most impressive song that matches up with this very hard core action movie! A very great duel of a car driving of a very fast speed of a very grand rivalry! [ Taking you out song is a very impressive beautiful song was made five years ago. ] From passcode for epicness or Passcode band. The four ever rising talented ladies straight out if Japan 🇯🇵. The song would waste No time to get to the highest level of pure lovely perfection of total successful greatnesss of very true perfect performance skills of very grand achievements! My great inspiring wisdom for today. Have a great fabulous wonderful day.😀
They tested two endings, one that showed John still alive and the ambiguous one that's in the film and the testing group preferred the ambiguous one but I'd say it's pretty obvious the implication is that he's still alive. I think the scene with the dog at the end makes that pretty clear, they purposefully close in on the dog who very deliberately looks off quickly into a direction as if to notice John, that's not something a filmmaker includes without intention. Either way I don't think John Wick 5 will be a continuation but maybe a prequel. I'm down for whatever, they caught lightning in a bottle with this franchise and delivered with each iteration.
For a singer/entertainer turned first-time actor, Rina Sawayama has to be up there as one of the best debut roles. I need more of her character and more of her period.
When Johnny wicks gets the 🐉 breath shotty & they drop the beat from the club scene from pt 1 and then they go with sky cam from Sunday night football while looking like socom, gears ⚙️ & rainbow 🌈 had a baby I said , this movie aight
I like the movie very much,but......the only thing that bothers me is the blind man. No matter how good he is,you can kill him at any time if you want to. If he stands in the middle of room like that, you can take him out easily,Just wait and shoot him, chances enough to do so. So that part to me sucks.
The music starting at 37:00 is a callback to the first movie, when John starts chasing Iosef in the nightclub. This stops at 37:21 which is a callback to the fall John took onto the dance floor. The camera even behaves the same during the fall. Epic.
"Edited by Billy the kid Lawrence" aka the source footage will stay on screen for 2 seconds at a time and flash on and off for the whole reaction. Pass.
The action scenes felt my clunky/sluggish and slow this time around. Like the bad guy had to sit pretending to be stunned for a year before finally coming to his senses and attacking John only for john to have reloaded and shot. Basically all the recovering instances were far too long.
yeah, I kind of agree, I liked the first movies cause they let the action breathe. Number 3 with the improvised weapons was great. But this one I think he had infinite ammo in bits and the enemies came at him slower or stayed down a lot longer than before, Especially the drum scene, and the falling down the stairs was comically ridiculous.
@@ethanwoodley901 The only stunt he didn't do was falling down the stairs. They said he did 98% of the stunts John did. His stunt double also said John did actually fall down many of the stairs in some shots.

41:10 “John wick shoots the sun” absolutely based Rick
3:08 Aaron comparing a Laurence Fishburne character with a Samuel L. Jackson character is hilarious to me. I can just hear Sam in my head, “We don’t all look the same!”
It’s funny as well since Fishburne was originally considered for that role but he turned it down
I remember Laurence telling a story about some random guy across the street shouting at him "WHAT DO THEY CALL A QUATER POUNDER WITH CHEESE IN PARIS?" and Laurence shouted back "FUCK YOU!"
My mum actually asked if that was Sam Jackson
@@tiger1chu I am dumb. That went over my head. Was that a fuck you to a racist comment or a tongue in cheek one?
@@rushpan93 that was a fuck you to people who keeps mistaking Lawrence for Samuel
The cinematography on this movie is amazing. The stunts are incredible. There better be some award nominations.
I love how done with everything Donnie Yen’s character is.
Legend has it John is still falling down those stairs to this day
Legend has it Cassian is still on that subway with a knife in his chest
The fact that this is Rina Sawayama's first Hollywood role is pretty crazy lol
Also that top-down sequence is legit crazy.
And what a debut that was. The only woman action star with a better debut would probably be Michelle Yeoh, who had no martial arts training when she became a martial arts action star after her very first movie.
Safe to say one of the best action movies this year. Also Rest In Peace Lance Reddick a legendary actor
One of? What's the competition?
@@rushpan93people will say Extraction 2, which really doesn't broach this. Or Mission Impossible number whatever, which no doubt is amazing but still, it's so obvious JW 4 is better. It's one of the best action movies in _history,_ not just of any year. This film series will be held up to Kurosawa, Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, John Woo.
"You cant kill everbody." Procedes to kill everybody. Just a couple more and he'll have half of Koro Sensei's killcount.
You get a like for the anime reference. 😎
Lmao. Well, we have to account for all the killing John did from a teenager to his late 40's when he first retired, including his impossible task, and then the John Wick movies. Probably closer to 70%. ;)
The exchange at the duel is an adaptation of Luke 17:33: “Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will keep it.”
Every day this movie keeps getting better and better fr
The fall down the stairs is an adaption of Sisyphus pushing the boulder in Tartarus, only to have it fall at the top. Another layer to the "impossible task" nature of the John Wick movies.
Who is Luke? And this number 17:33? Some ratio? Sorry for my little knowledge but I don't know.
@@KuchNahiBasAiseHi No problem, Amanraj. It’s a quotation from the Christian bible. The book is the Gospel of Luke. And the number is how you write chapter 17, verse 33. If you google it like that, “Luke 17:33” you will see it come up. :)
@@KuchNahiBasAiseHi its a verse in the christian bible. Luke is the person who wrote that verse and 17:33 is the page and line in the that section Luke Wrote.
Donnie Yen was definitely the best addition to the series. He is also the best fighter of the series.
He saved the movie tbh
@@daahsri what you mean he saves the movie? It wasn't that bad
@@daahsri Saved the movie? what? did you close your eyes when Donnie wasn't on screen? It was a good movie.
@@kaiser_suzi_ nah it wasnt
@@daahsriThe best action scenes in the movie don't even have him in it, and he's only half in the third best when John needs to go up the stairs again.
He was a great addition to the movie, he "saved it" is facetious.
Watching it in the cinema was the best as other people lost it when he was trying to get up the stairs but kept falling. They were literally shouting out "Just let the man up there"
I didn't shout it, but I definitely thought/whispered it, lol.
As far as like John actually accomplishing anything goes i always felt like the whole reason he gets back in, in the 1st movie is because the world he did everything to leave came back to him and stole the most meaningful thing to him which is the ability to finally mourn and process death as his own person and not a killer and so he’s been kind of getting that revenge against them
But also i think he wanted to ability to die and be with his wife having been free of that world again.
Probably the best action movie I’ve ever scene. Keanu is so amazing.
The fact the Oscars is going to create an entire stunt category, all because of this movie is just awesome.
Makes you think, best picture?
Geez, John Wick stays changing cinema and he barely speaks at all.
Yeah, most people expected a John silhouette, but that "hmm?" head turn tells all.
@@billbill6094 that it does.
It has been fun watching ya'll reacting to every John Wick film 😎. What a remarkable franchinse that in many ways has changed or influenced hollywood action films 😎.
My favorite of the four movies, an action masterpiece.
I'm glad I watched this in theatres. It's way more intense than watching this on a tv.
If anyones curious, each successive film had a higher JW kill count, with the final total being 439 across all 4
is it strange that the most unbelievable part of the movie is how many muscle cars there are in Paris? they are extremely rare in Europe
lmao. best comment so far 😆
Not sure that scene has the same oomph if he was drifting a Citroen Berlingo.
I smirked at how long it took Winston to walk down that room.
Guys, let’s be honest. There’s no way John Wick is dead. Especially with a 5th movie coming soon.
Also, R.I.P. Charon and Lance Reddick.
Yes, sadly. I wish thay would just let him be dead and move on with the other characters.
It is already confirmed that the 5th film is a continuation on some of the characters setup in this 4th film, and won't feature keanu
However, the director in his interview with Joe Rogan did say that he could continue and build on the idea that "maybe John died and found peace, but not the babayaga". But I would be greatly disappointed if they don't leave it at this perfect ending
really hope they ditch the bulletproof everything going forward
Next: Invisible bulletproof ski masks😂
When does that start to come out? I was always interested in those as a kid but wasn’t able to read them, I’ve been interested in watching the series
@@TheNinjaBees I believe early 2024 but I keep hearing different things so hold me to that.
The Berlin sequence will forever be my favorite, it holds the personal element we haven't since since the First Movie (you see it on Wick's face), and it brings in every aspect of the franchise we've seen and elevates it.
This movie solidifies that John Wick is indeed one of the greatest, if not the greatest, action franchise of all time.
The waiting for this reaction also feels like years Calvin 😂 Glad it's already here. Been waiting for this since it came out❤
Seeing this movie, in theaters, the day it released was incredible.
13:33 IP Man fans screaming
Chapter 5 is confirmed by the way
I wasn't expecting much from this film when I went and watched it when it came out, thought it would be fun but nothing special but I was blown away but how incredible this film was.
@@L6Stereo Yes precisely, the way this scene is done really looks like they purposefully hid clues and if it's confirmed that's really cool.
Absolutely missed out not seeing it in theaters. Especially for the shotgun scene.
This movie reminded me of a lot of comic book characters like Daredevil with the blind guy, Groot with mr klaus, and Penguin. Very cool
Killa looked and fought like a boss from the Yakuza videogame series.
Personally, this is the best action franchise ever, and John Wick 4 might just be the best action movie of all
Great Movie! John Wick has the best stunt team and choreography in cinema by a wide margin imo
It feels rude to say but the way lance reddicks character reacts to the shot and the fact there isn’t an over the top splat and he just falls is really well done
The dragons breath scene has to be one of the most well directed scenes of all time.
I still say that the John Wick tetralogy is perfect, all four films are 10/10. I don't think i can say that for any other IP.
This movie is pure eye candy. Delicious, delicious eye candy. It might be my favorite non-comic action movie of all time.
The top down sequence was my favorite. Especially since they reused the music from the past movie club shootout scenes.
I’m a simple man. I see a Blind Wave video, I click on it.
The bike that John Wick used was an ARCH. The company owned by Keanu Reeves.
I absolutely love this movie. I got Cowboy Beebop vibes from that scene. Those who have seen it all know what I mean. I like to think Mr. Nobody is from the same group the main character from the movie "Nobody" is from both were Mr. Nobody and highly skilled killers with a military feel.
I love how they reused those two legendary songs from first movie for that Dragon's Breath part, truly best action movie in years
John Wick 5: Producer Confirms It's in Development but 'the Story Isn't There Yet' - IGN
This was the best action film of the year and one of the best John wick movies since the 1st one. All of them are great! Such a thrill ride 👏🏼👏🏼
It's time play a most impressive song that matches up with this very hard core action movie! A very great duel of a car driving of a very fast speed of a very grand rivalry! The song would waste No time to get to the highest level of pure lovely perfection of total successful greatnesss of very true perfect performance skills of very grand achievements! My great inspiring wisdom for today. Have a great fabulous wonderful day.😀
John Wick healing factor working overtime in this one
I remember in imax those punches in the beginning shook the theater got so hyped
The most realistic thing about this movie are the dancing Germans who don't give a shit about fights with weapons happening right next to them
When Johnny wicks gets the 🐉 breath shotty & they drop the beat from the club scene from pt 1 and then they go with sky cam from Sunday night football while looking like socom, gears ⚙️ & rainbow 🌈 had a baby I said , this movie aight
Wanna request ‘’rurouni kenshin ‘’ live action movie reaction! Recently completed rewatching it .
Epic.
35:28 Ha, I said “It’s like Hotline Miami.” And then Rick said the exact same thing, nice.
"Edited by Billy the kid Lawrence" aka the source footage will stay on screen for 2 seconds at a time and flash on and off for the whole reaction. Pass.
I am thinking I am going to react
7:11 why does a BLIND man open a pocket watch with his daughter’s photo? Why does he even carry a photo of her when he can’t see it?
I find Rolex watches to be gaudy. 😝 I'd rather have the $10K and buy a more tasteful watch. 🤷🏼♂️
"Who's doing that stunt?! Give him everything!"
Keanu does his own stunts
The fighting and driving yes. But he wouldn't have done all the falling off buildings and down stairs stuff
@@ethanwoodley901 The only stunt he didn't do was falling down the stairs. They said he did 98% of the stunts John did.
His stunt double also said John did actually fall down many of the stairs in some shots.
So glad we got some Scott Adkins! I've been a fan since Accident Man and after looking at his other work he's easily one of the best fight choreographers/martial art actors I've ever seen.
Man I'm real sad no one ever references the Warriors tribute before Wick has to fight through all of Paris.
Waiting for a Caine spinoff.
