Aah, good point :)
Keanu trained with Taran Butler who is a ten time world champion in 3 gun competition (pistol, rifle, and shotgun) When he was training for John Wick 2 Taran told Keanu that he broke one of his course records while training. Keanu just shrugged his shoulders and smiled. He also trained and did all his driving stunts, Keanu is a real class act.
No matter how old he gets, he absorbs new challenging things like a sponge. He doesn't just prepare for a movie role, he scholars himself into it and adds it to the many amazing things he can do. He is aware that he isn't strong at script acting, but he shines as an action hero....so he excels in his assets. ....Love that man!
and a really nice person in "real life"
@@Nuggetmonk Keanu is just a awesome guy in general!
I would glady have covfefe with him and just chat all day :)
Just clearing it up, he didn't do all of the stunts himself.
@@Zero-wt7xf I don't think that was implied. It was stated that Keanu did all of his driving stunts, yes, but not all of his stunts in general which is understandably most likely due to health and safety issues.

Yeah, obviously. He’s killing the dude.
Its also worn that way so he can keep track of time while holding a gun. Being right handed will have your left forearm's underside exposed to you, so you'd wear a watch "upside-down" to keep track if you're a time-sensitive assassin like him.

The directors did an interview with the Screen Junkies people while reacting to the Honest Trailer for John Wick before John Wick 2’s release. They said that the gold coins are basically to let the people know that they’re “in the know”. It’s weird because it seems like one coin can get you a meal from the restaurant but can also a room at the hotel, but that was their explanation for it. Also the cops are aware of the assassins/organization but let them do their business and don’t interrupt them as long as no innocent people are killed. It’s a pretty cool world the directors created and I can’t wait to see more of it in John Wick 3, and maybe even your guys reaction to the sequel.

Keanu clearly knows how to shoot a gun properly, John Wick's reactions and accuracy are superhuman, but the gun handling and manipulations are as close to flawless as any movie has come.
I always loved the fact that the people John Wick killed in the club were literally "red shirts". One thing the John Wick series made apparent was that more stunt actors and coordinators should direct movies.
Jmacmall I also loved the fact that they reused stunt guys and would just cut their hair and shave their beards or just cover their faces completely
they mentioned that they only had a few stunt men
so they grew beards and shaved them for later scenes
They finally gave stunt doubles a good rep as directors after disasters like Punisher: War Zone.
Welll we have to make sure they have law enforcement backgrounds as well. Otherwise there isn’t any audience for it because it isn’t realistic tactics. John wick is one of the most accurate tactical shooter movies out there. Sure, it’s far fetched in engagement, but his form and shooting holds up.
@@jarjared3522 Punisher: War Zone wasn't directed by an stunt double. Or am I misunderstanding what you're trying to say?
little fun fact. the guy playing the shooter at 16:50 has "Neo" as his ingame name. ;)

11:41 what I love is the cinematography of this scene. When the camera shows John it’s slow and steady, like he is, but when it shows Iosef, it is shaky and panicked.
With a fu***ng pencil!!! ✏️😂
I wonder if I'm the only one who had to turn on subtitles the first time I saw this for that line. I could not figure out what the fuck he was saying, it sounded like beyahsil to me.
Love to see them react to John Wick 2
Now with a book.
*fucking. Dont be a bitch about it.
Scene is made even harder hitting when you see the blood trail and realize the puppy crawled over to him to die.... :(
Oh so true. That’s just so extra super heartbreaking.
I love when John enters the club because of the contrast between the terrified kid running vs. John calmly walking through that floor like he is Michael Myers out for the kill.
I love the subtle parts in the movie
John reloading but instead of letting the magazine hit the floor he doesn't let it until he puts a fresh mag in then throws it on the ground to lure them in to think he's empty
John triple tapping/Double tap. Gut, gut, head. Gut, head. Amazing
36:42 Realistically what could the cop have actually done to John Wick.
So honest trailers brought the directors with them to watch the honest trailer to John wick.
Basically they mentioned that the officers are not corrupt but that there is a certain "truce" between these killers and the law. So long as assassins only kill other assassins and don't kill innocent people, like the scenario in his house the police is chill about it.
The police officer even thanks him for letting him live.
I now want "I sleep on bed" and "Assassin Jesus" for new Blind Wave t-shirts
Definitely I sleep on bed
A quick clarification re: Brandon Lee: While you can absolutely be injured by blanks, that is not what happened in this Lee's case. Someone on the firearms team for The Crow had the bright idea of making their own inert rounds for a scene by taking live rounds, pulling the bullet, dumping the powder charge, and re-inserting the bullet in the cartridge. The problem is that this still leaves a live primer in the base of the cartridge (a little brass cup filled with an explosive mixture that detonates when struck by the firing pin, igniting the main powder charge. It's the little circle you see in the middle of the bottom of a cartridge casing, usually with a dent in it if it's been fired). That means when they used their "dummy" round, that primer went off with enough force to send the real bullet part-way down the barrel of the weapon.
Then, when they filmed the scene with Lee, that same weapon was loaded with a blank consisting of a crimped cartridge with a powder charge. The combination of the bullet in the barrel and the blank round basically added up to a complete, nearly full power round. There were a LOT of ways to avoid this, starting with not being unsafe and attempting to roll your own dummy rounds, moving on to not leaving the primer inserted in your "dummy" round, then to not clearing and making safe weapons between scenes...
If you do something stupid (look up Jon-Erik Hexum), you can even potentially be killed by a blank.
However you are absolutely correct, Brandon was killed by a bullet not the wadding in a blank. He was 6 or 8 feet from the actor who fired the gun, and at that distance the wadding wouldn't do a thing. It doesn't matter how fast it leaves the barrel, it's a tiny piece of paper, that would slow down to harmless in 2 feet or so.
For clarification, Hexum killed himself demonstrating how harmless his blanks were, firing it within inches of his temple. He fractured his skull, driving bone shards into his brain, but the wadding (even at that distance) didn't penetrate his skull.
I really hate when people perpetuate those myths like Calvin did. My "favorite" Crow myth is they used the actual shooting in the film. Hell, most people I've asked claim the wrong scene as the one they were filming when he was shot.
Keanu as John Wick and Neo is the exact reason why I want Keanu to play Deathstroke
This movies so great. It builds a great interesting world, actions great, Keanu's great
Facts.
The final fight was mainly do to the budget running low towards the end
Doug Ryniker yes sir
@@Joshinaround91 even if it was so short because of the budget I'd say it was perfect and didn't need to be any longer
Funny how people think John Wick runs on unlimited adrenaline and stamina.
Just to elaborate on Brandon Lee's death:
The problem wasn't the blanks they used. The same revolver which ultimately killed Brandon Lee was used in another scene in a close up. To look realistic, they wanted dummy rounds in the revolver but instead of buying them they created their own by taking live bullets and removing the powder out of the cartridges. The problem was: They left the primers in because they were idiots. So when the revolver was fired in another scene, the bullet got propelled just enough to get stuck in the first part of the barrel and nobody noticed it.
In the scene where Brandon Lee died they used perfectly safe blanks (meaning there is no projectile whatsoever). But of course, with a bullet stuck in the barrel already, a blank turns into a live round.
The shot which hit him was fired from about 12 feet away, it wasn't even point blank.
O shit
what
I remember I went into this movie completely blind. I was just looking at new releases and saw the poster with Keanu and was like, "Heck yeah, Keanu."
So the fact that I went into it knowing nothing, and the fact that with theater sound you could feel each gunshot in your bones ... what an incredible movie.
The fact that he did the Red Circle scene while having a fever and did it in just roughly one go....insane

The cool thing about the John wick universe is everyone knows about this assassin underground world but most people just look the other way. They know better
I’m a big fan of this movie and franchise !!.
I like how they ease you into this world with a personal and sympathetic story of this man who lost his wife and then as it progresses show you how heightened it is .
The worldbuilding is interesting and the action is just fantastic. one of the best action franchises today ,if not the best .
I hope you watch the second one as well. If you love world building and the craziness you'll love it
"action films are dead"
Keanu: Hold my drink.
Keanu Reeves was also running high fever on the day they shoot the club scene as well.
the action sequence is one shot liam niession jumping a fence in taken took 8 shots
To be fair, Liam Neeson has 12 years on Keanu Reeves and I think he was/is a very heavy smoker...he was doing the best he can. It's amazing they even made him into an action star.

So many possible Mayhem jokes since those commercials aired...
Honestly, those commercials are so good. Sometimes I'll just look them up for fun.
8:15 The way I see it, the cops know/know of people in John's Society, but they more or less let them be since they tend to clean their own messes, plus there's the whole sleeping dragon metaphor. Don't disturb it and hope it doesn't breathe fire on the village.
Guys, the puppy represents Helen (Wick's wife) and the type of person John fell in love with. So, aside from the puppy being a cute puppy, she also represents Helen's love for John. They didn't just kill a puppy, they besmirched the legacy of Helen and her love for John. She saved him in so many ways that the memory of her love was sustaining him in his time of grief. Upon second and third viewing I also became aware of Willem DaFoe's character. He was the only one that bothered to show up to the funeral. Then I understood the relationship he had with Wick. He always had John's back. To me, there's more to that story. I can't wait to see Chapter 4. By the way, I'm glad you guys noticed the near perfect world building the writers and producers created, so fucking awesome!

"That man really know's how to shoot a gun". You have no idea. Go to youtube and search it. He trained with the best.
I think the set up universe really is what separates John Wick from other action series, the fact it isn’t talked about as a “secret” world is just awesome. The characters just know each other and the audience is allowed to interpret the characters in their own way and the movies can move forward with its action and performances.

Before I watch the video I wanna say thank you for all your awesome reactions and that you do the videos for us.
NOW LETS GO JHON WICK REACTION !!
One of the great things about this movie is you can actually count the bullets he fires and its very accurate, especially the club scene when he runs out, reloads, and shoots the guy in the face. Prior to that the amount of bullets expended is accurate. Such a little detail means so much.
This movie set the bar of action movies so up high! Like all the amazing fight coordination, all details too like Keanu's form when shooting & handling a gun, clearing room, hand to hand combat all which shows his long and hard work training for. Reloading constantly and not just once or couple times like in other movies. And other details that just changed action movies or at least fight scenes. Jason Bourne was big for its fighting but when I watched the 1st one has shakey cam and etc that you don't really fully know or least see what's happening or being done as it was likely done like that to hide it was a stunt double. Keanu training and doing most of his stunts makes the movie so much more. The camera can be still on them, showing them clearly and not whole bunch of cuts put together or distorted view of it.
After getting out of the hospital a day ago, this was a lovely surprise, when I finally felt good enough to get on my pc.
