I had a dream that Bob Ross showed me how to paint and then wanted me to paint on my own, but I kept having happy little accidents.....it was very peaceful though :)
While in the Air Force, Bob lived for many years in a place called North Pole, Alaska. This guy is/was so phenomenal. Imagine that a person gone for over 20 years can still have such an enormous impact on so many of us.
It sounds weird but I don't find it too sad that Bob died. Yes, it IS sad, but I think he'd be at peace with it and was ready to join the earth and be with the animals and his wife. I'm so happy he left such an impression on so many people, if I feel down/anxious nowadays, I watch Bob paint.
Dearest Bob Ross, today marks the 29th year that you left us to go paint new worlds in the heavens. You are still revered as a fabulous artist and paint instructor. You will be missed for as long as this world continues.

This painting was a lovely fall painting. I love the use of color in the background and I loved how Bob through the path on the bottom of the painting. The fence was a great touch but of course the biggest highlight of the painting was the huge tree, with its many branches stemming from the trunk. The way that Bob painted this painting was very unique because we haven't really seen this kind of a perspective with one big tree instead of a lot of other smaller trees. In my opinion he’s the best artist I’ve ever known my late grandpa introduced me to him n I use to love to go sit and watch this peaceful art it was our thing n boy if bob was coming on we were glued to the tv I miss all of that 😔
Still isn't clear when he was diagnosed with cancer the second time. Some say after series 31 and some say before. I'd go with before. Hair gives it away (probably a wig)

That's why it was a bittersweet end for him. He used to say that he wouldn't watch the news because it made him upset. If he had lived to see 9/11 or the 2016 election it just might have.

It always amazes me how he was able to mix, and play with colors. He knew what colors would come out, and which of those colors continued to be mixed on the canvas. And which color would come out before he started painting. Not an easy technique to master for sure.

Every color Bob used in his paintings was beautiful! I especially like Phthalo Blue, Prussian Blue, Alizarin Crimson, Sap Green, and Cadmium Yellow.

Its sad to see his cancer slowly getting worse through these episodes, but he never fails to amaze me by his paintings.
Always loved watching Bob Ross painting on PBS when I was a kid. Would watch them during my summer school vacation. Miss him every day.

Bob's landscape techniques also work extremely well for doing backgrounds for paintings that have specific thematic subjects in the foreground.
