Their personalities still on display. Magic looks like he spent 3 hours in the mirror getting dressed and Bird looks like his wife made him reluctantly put on a suit for the occasion. Priceless!
MIM Film and Video LOL and he really does not want to be there and magic wishes there were more cameras lol...how these two are so close god only knows
So true my man.. It's the greatest rivalry/friendship story in all of sports in my opinion. They respected and admired each other because outside of one another, they had no one else to fear in the league. With no Bird in the league, Magic would probably have 8 or more rings and vice versa.
+MIM Film and Video They are so absolutely different yet they both make you laugh just as much as the other. A truly incredible rivalry and example of exceptional athletes. If I could ask one question of Peyton Manning or Tom Brady it would be "Are you ready for the decades of interviews you two will have to do the rest of your lives?" These pairings are rare and Magic and Bird may well be the best.
"Ervin is an outgoing guy, he loves everybody, he wants to high five, he got that big smile. My goal was to try and take three of them teeth home with me". The most Larry Bird-ish quote one could ask for.
+Vassilis Kantiotis I wonder if MJ could ever have this kind of conversation, I mean does he have a friend, I feel he isolated himself from his peers, whereas, all his peers are just Chilin, hosting basketball shows like chuck and Kenny.
+d garcia MJ is one of the most competitive athletes to ever play any professional sport ever. He hated losing. I mean a great example is the famous flu game and you can just look up how competitive MJ was.
SuperMisteryMan01 the issue is not how competitive mj was, there's no doubt he was super competitive, but so are these guys, if you watched the 80's and early 90's NBA. I'm just saying, I don't think mj has gotten over the fact that he is no longer the talk of the NBA, I mean, we hardly see him in relax mode, I don't think he's fun to be with like Chuck, oh well, who cares.
Listen to what Magic Johnson said: "We didn't care about scoring points. We cared about winning and making our teammates better." That's what basketball is. It's about a team concept. @@crysjumar1 Yeah, during the HBO special interviewing Bird, he would be finishing up 700 free throws and call it a night then think to himself, damn Magic's probably doing 800 then start shooting more...classic!

You put consistently there because of LeBron. We haven't seen him play enough center though to prove if he can't play every position consistently, but LeBron can do it too
Exactly. We didn't see Magic play on the east coast unless it was the finals. I look at the old films now and how Magic adapted to each team and set the tempo at all times. Magic is the best ever. Or maybe Russell. Tim Duncan had some of the court awareness that Magic had.
