  • Rain DROPS is our very first sample set based on percussion sounds!
It's an experimental sample pack with 360 sounds, constructed entirely from the sound of rain. Battery 4 kits were also constructed with all 360 sounds, in 8 separate kit files.
Most of the sounds do not sound like their source material. An effort was made to create a wide range of sounds - from conventional snare and kick sounds to glitchy and mangled sounds. However, there are still a good number of "watery" type sounds - 56 in total.

    Process and Explanation:
Raindrops were spliced into hundreds of thousands of separate audio fragments using Reaper's transient splicing capabilities. Then, these were manipulated and mangled through various FX. After this, they were edited again, this time through XLN Audio's XO plugin.
For the Battery 4 expansions, the raw outputs from XO were used. Then the sounds were edited further within Battery 4. These are the sounds that will be heard in the eight(8) Battery 4 "kits".
Finally, all 360 sounds were sampled and mixed down through Battery 4.
These final Battery 4 edits are contained in the folder titled "_Raindrop Organized Samples". Within this folder, there are sub-folders organized by sound type.
These are the main samples that you can use in other samplers, or drag and drop into your DAW.
All other folders contain the samples that were output through XO, which were used to build the Battery 4 kits.
No samples were compressed. Therefore, you do have access to these as well. However, they will be harder to navigate since they are not properly labeled. Also, some of them will sound quite different than they do in Battery 4, or in the "_Raindrop Organized Samples" folder - since they are pre-Battery 4 edits.
