Rack 1: scratching off that 6 was because you didn’t commit to a position for the cue afterwards. We are ALL guilty of that scratch because we don’t pay attention closely enough early in our matches. Rack 2: I think I would have played your 2 cutting up the long rail towards the side pocket. You didn’t have a runout, nor did he. But you could have started by moving your balls into better positions and force him to open the table. Rack 4: (20’ mark roughly). Play the 2 into the side come off the long rail. 4 into lower left corner stunning to left long rail. 6 into top left corner with a soft stop shot. 1 into top right, 8 into to left. Simple, natural pattern. You made a REALLY GOOD shot on that 2 into top right, unlucky on the position off the 1. Rack 5: 😂😮 look, it was just funny because you were just being mortal. Nice cut on the 8! Rack 6: rotten luck on the 8 Rack 7: call their captain BEFORE he hits that push. You should call him on it. Overall you played well, and surely are on your way back to playing to your ability!
Awesome! Great insight on the racks. I'm def starting to come back around but, still grinding it out. My pattern play suffers a bit when my stroke isn't right!
Just realized for what ever reason that the solid number + 8= the corresponding number and color. Example 1+8=9 ball yellow 2+8=10 blue. Might help out when trying to figure out what ball is on the screen when doing commentary

according to the APA "Push shots will not be called in this amateur League. Even the professional players cannot agree about what is and isn't a push shot. In general, you can lessen your chances of being accused of shooting a push shot by hitting the cue ball into the object ball at an angle, or by elevating the butt of your cue about 30 degrees. "
Hey Josh ! On the first rack on your key ball the 1 you stunned it , if you rolled it probably would’ve had a better roll for the 8 ? I rewound and looked at it …but you prevailed .

What is it that you want to know about? The table? Or plays awesome (never played on a diamond that i didn't like). The stick? It's a cuetec true wood 2, and i love it so far. Been using it for about 8 or 9 months now.
In his defense, if the cue ball is frozen to the object ball, you can shoot through the cue ball and it's not a foul. But he didn't check to see if it was frozen, so who knows. Way to power through it boss
Greetings from Thailand ( UK ex pat) enjoy your vids. Im starting to play alot of pool and (slowly) getting better. One thing i see in your vids is a lot of skill level (SK) mentioned which you never hear about here. It seems a good way of assessing someones ability but i have no idea about it, is it a techinical assesment or not how exactly to you make that assesment
It’s a pool league (APA) designation. In 8 ball, skill levels run from 1-7. The higher your skill level the more games you must win in a head-to-match. For 9-ball, it’s a “points system”. Each ball is worth 1 point in a rack, with the 9 ball worth 2. Total rack is worth 10 points. The match is not decided by who drops the most 9s, but who accumulates the most points. Skill levels are from 1-9 in 9-ball. A 1vs5 match would be 12 points needed versus 38 points needed. Then there’s a scoring system for each match as “team level” match. Same in 8-ball. What Josh is doing is showing his level against another league player so the viewer has an idea if the opponent is new, decent, good or equally good to give some context to who he’s playing.
speaking of push fouls.. the high ranks on teams should be helping lower players on this.. I had a new player push through 3-4 shots in a row one time and their high rank just sat there... the problem was eventually, this player was pushing through on shots that had over 8" between the cue and the object ball... couldnt very well call a ref to watch every shot this player took lol... I just wish everyone was honest.. I dont know why it's so hard for people to be honest really... oh well /shrug... I had an issue with anger/frustration in my match last night and I had when that happens cause I'm generally a really happy person that just goes with the flow. It definitely caused me to lose my match. Hey Josh, keep up the entertaining content sir!
Thank you Rae Rae! I agree about the higher SL informing the lower SL players. Every member of my team knows what a push foul is, and how to avoid them!
I usually take their captain aside and advise him to correct his players when they do that . I let him know that I don't want to make a big thing of it on league night , but it's for his own benefit . If I know that the captain knows better and is just letting it go, I remind him that I hope I'm there to see it when it bites him on the ass if they get to Tri-Cups or Cities . That usually gets their attention. I've been lucky enough to witness exactly that a few times and it is very gratifying !
APA's so ridiculous. Why does a simple scratch on a missed 8 lead to a loss? You put in all the work to run out, and then just a scratch loses the game, despite the opponent doing nothing. It makes no sense lol
