The stutter is a DX12 issue in BFV. I get locked 144fps but with bad stutter on a 3080 Ti with no ray tracing if I use DX12, but I get no stutter if using DX11. It goes away after a few hours of playing. It's an issue with streaming assets. Also, the poor quality "low setting" reflections are cube maps, not screen spaced. That's why they look awful and aren't dependent in on screen objects.

"If things are off screen they should disappear if ray tracing is not enabled" , that's not necessarily true. what you are thinking about are screen space reflections , which aren't the only way to do reflections. most of the time games use cube maps to do reflections, which don't disappear no matter where you move your screen. but inturn they are very low quality and static.

The GTX 1060 6GB and up support DXR, NOT RTX. Just to make this clear. The RTX cards have RT cores, the GTX cards do not. I want to teach you a trick now. Log in to Epic games and start Fortnite with an RTX card, setup the game you want to play w/RTX. Shut down that PC. Go to the PC with GTX card installed, open Epic, login to same account, start Fortnite. You will now have the same settings on a GTX card and it is PAINFUL. But still can be done. Both cards have to have the same amount of VRAM is the only requirement for this to trick the game. And I have no idea how long before it's patched. I found this out switching from my bedroom HTPC to my gaming rig to play Fortnite.

Ghost Wire Tokyo is good. If you could activate Vsinc with a faster graphic card with everything at max. I have time to check it at 0.25 of the speed. I did that and from the un sinc, I could see how vertical synchronization would help. Because you hit 20-25 frames per second but fragged or cut banners. As if looking at strips of papers out of sinc in a movie, The engine Ghost Wire Tokyo does that panning real good, the Z-buffer is well made. If you overclock gpu, does that mean you oc the proc. or mem?

Actually if you play Life is Strange True Colors with raytracing on you won't lose any FPS for some reason and low raytraced shadows in Tomb Raider is very much playable. I also played control with transparent reflections on and the game was totally playable. Some raytracing can be achieved if you aim for 30fps.

For anyone wondering how this is physically possible, the shader cores in the GPU are making some of the most basic RT calculations you will ever see in your life in order to achieve RTX.

"the most basic RT calculations you will ever see in your life in order to achieve RTX."
Uhm, you know that this makes no sense right? :D
Since they are slower than ASIC cores
