They absolutely love eating Salvinia minima (floating plant) I covered my water area with the excess from my aquarium and noticed that it was slowly vanishing... Which never happens with floating plants. I woke up one night and saw them dragging it out of the water and eating it. They will carry it quite far too.
No more than 4, aim for more females than males... Males can become feisty in smaller spaces. This tank has a larger 'footprint' than a typical 20 USG and I find with 5 they can get quite aggressive. I use Anubias, Crypts & Java Moss for plants and I use dragonstone & lavarock for decorations as they do not affect water parameters
@@BigFishLittleFishAquatics alright! thank you! what about the plants? right now i have 3 different types of pothos, a false aralia, and some sterilized and quarantined moss from outside, is that okay? (sorry, didn’t see the plant part when i wrote this!)
No worries, your plants should be fine... although I have not had experience with false aralia, so cannot comment on that one. I put moss in with mine and they ended up eating it all... but it may be because I only put a little in...
Do moss bring worms I to the water? I used them last time and I noticed little white worms, not sure if it's from the plant 😩 no I don't use any plants :/

That is awesome! Good to know :)
Nice tank! It's come a long way!
Thank you
The melting thing is so cool! I never thought about how they get out of the old shell before
It is pretty amazing when you stop and thing about what they are doing!
Thanks for the update on the tank and crabs. Would love to see another follow up including feeding. Could I keep these in a 24" x 12" tank?
Yes, absolutely, stick to the 2/3 land 1/3 water and you should do fine. You may find starting with 3-5 being a good number. Thank you for watching :)
Thankyou for that I will try them :)
@@denisemajor7124 You are welcome, any questions don't hesitate to ask :)
Awesome vlog!
Thank you
how many of these guys are good to have in a 10 gallon? also, what plants or rocks would you suggest for a tank for them?
