    Thanks for explaining the basics. This is one reason why I love life. Learning new things. New experiences. Running into new people. The thought never occurred to me that panning is a hobby that's out there. I've recently viewed some of your sidewalk prospecting videos. Wow. How bizarre, but in a good way. People come up with this stuff. People are awesome. I was thinking to myself, why buy a bag of dirt? Then you explained it. It's a hobby. You don't expect to make money. That's why we do our hobbies, because we like it. Not necessarily to make money. Guess I wasn't thinking. Anyway, rant over. Awesome channel, you got me to use my brain today and taught me something new. You're doing good in the world.

    Hey, Shane, that was a fun video! Ya know what, when people take a look at the gold, silver, lead bullet and other paraphernalia on your bookcase shelf, that 'Quantity' of silver, compared to similar quantities of gold is going to look STUNNING! They're gonna think you've discovered the second, Virginia City Comstock(!), especially when you say..., "Oh yea, that was just a handful I scooped up and threw in a baggy."

    I love how you automatically reffered to the Silver as gold for the first bit of the weigh up lol. But an epic video and super interesting to watch! I beleive Silver is around 10grams per cubic centimetre in weight, to compare gold is around 20 grams per cubic centimetre in weight so its half the density, still much denser then most other things you will find in the pan though. Thanks for sharing Klesh!

    I've been watching you and a couple other prospectors on youtube for a little while now. You and Dan Hurd have inspired me to go out gold panning myself. I live in Colorado too and I'm going out to the Arapahoe Bar Gold Panning Park in Golden tomorrow. I've got a couple mini sluices and other simple stuff to take up there. I do understand I'm probably only going to get flakes at Arapahoe Bar, but the experience and being outside will be worth it. Thanks for doing all your videos! They're very pleasant to watch and helpful

      didn't get a lot and I'm pretty sure I was losing some gold out of my mini sluices, but I had a good time out there. Maybe .003 on the scale, but it was light enough not to register. For being in the city still it's a really nice area. I'll definitely be going back again at some point. We gave the ducks some fruit

    • @davyguy87
      @davyguy87 Год назад

      crystalized silver is actually the final step of all refinery's so any bar or round you have ever seen the silver was in crystal form at 1 point or another. it is formed in electrolytic silver cells used as the final step of removing impurity's from silver. think of it like silver plating something but instead of minutes it is left to plate out for weeks and forms large crystals.

After watching several ranging from good roi to an absolute rip-off It got me wondering If you had ever come across any that Has put small pieces of gold-plated material in them? I've never tried panning paydirt, in fact I'm just getting into gold panning. Thats why I've been watching a lot of your videos, Dan Hurds, and several others to learn as much as I can. As my daughter gets older I hope to teach her also. Even at 3yrs old she already loves the outdoors like me, I even bought her a real kids metal detector. Again Thank you. apparently silver is lightly magnetic while gold is not. I wonder if doing the magnet vs panning in dry would have been easier to extract silver. Idk tho. Could be interesting to try anyway.

    • @Klesh
      @Klesh  Год назад

      While gold is not magnetic its purest form, gold with high amounts of iron in it can be slightly magnetic as seen in some of my previous videos. that is not saying that gold is magnetic, only that the iron content makes gold appear magnetic at times.

      All gold amounts are listed in the descriptions, and you're guaranteed over that amount in every bag. The Gems and Minerals can be valuable, depending on what you get in your bag. Remember that "worth" is relative to what someone is willing to pay. Check ebay sold listings for similar items to get a ballpark value.
