    Having to redo a stage when building is never fun - luckily for the project i was doing recently the contractor was extremely competent and professional although we'd also make sure to be on the ground at least once or twice a week to make sure that everything was going well.
    For anyone picking a contractor my advice would be to find someone who's worked on a similar house/project to the one you want and don't be scared to get a second or even third opinion when it comes to things like pricing for the stages because some people will take advantage if they see you're over relying on them

      Thank you Shingai, this is what a lot of us had to learn the hard way.

      I do agree with you Shingi, a physical site visit from time to time is a must. I bought a four roomed hse and had to bring it down to build a bigger hse. Only when I went home in December did I find out that the slab I saw on photos was for the back and front of the old structure and they never filled up the old space after they brought down the old hse since they built around it and demolished it at a later stage. Now I have to pay again for back filling that space and making a slab inside a completed hse with a roof already.

      @@sammychani5594 My apologies you went through this. 100 percent it's important to be hands on, I know we might not be Professionals in the field but sometimes your gut is never wrong.

    It is also quite imperative that you put up a wall around your property before you start constructing the hse itself. Even if you put up a fence it's OK

    • @RabbiNash
      @RabbiNash  Год назад +2

      Yes that is in the pipeline. As we want to also drill a borehole, a perimeter wall will be very vital.

    Thank you very much for the insight. One day I will build my own house definitely inspired, and this channel will be big not far from now help us understand more and bring new fresh ideas on the real estate world especially for the young people how to be a step closer to the goal of owing property.

    Great content, seems like a good location whhere you are building. Could have liked more drone footage or site photo to put everything into context, learning quite a lot and looking forward to more content

    Also another video on expense of the mistake would be helpful to put things in perspective. Nice work 👏

    Well done for building. Thank you for sharing this info. It's certainly not easy to work with people who care more about money than a refined product - they themselves can be proud of.

    What was the main cause of the mistake, am sure the contractor was not experienced as you mention but at least they should be an underpinning issue ?

      Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it. So we had to redo a stage, that means paying a new contractor, buying material again and the time factor.
