I discovered Max changmin when I watched Sm town's concert for new years eve. I felled in love with him after watching his Fever performance. And now this! I can definitely say im a fan now!
This song has an american southern blues sound to it with a twist of gospel music as indicated by the background singers. Max's voice is powerful and has that gospel sound. He is quite capable of belting out the melody and vocalizing the runs. This is a great example of how K Pop is made up of many genres. I really enjoyed this song.
Yes!! This is what I was thinking too! It’s very southern rock with that twist of blues and gospel- I kept thinking of the ‘O Brother Where Art Thou’ soundtrack and thinking this would fit on there well!

Recommendation to new fans: With TVXQ you always search for LIVEs, be it 5, 2 or solo promotions like here, you will discover a huge number of songs of different genres, they seem to be the only SM group who has tried all of them, jazz, rock, ballad, pop, funk etc. Since their debut they have been known as one of the best vocal groups, check any performances starting with 2003. As for Changmin, my personal prefernces are his rock ballads, I like his cover of Rusty nail, his Forever love from Nissan stadium live and many others.
The presentation of Max Changmin's Devil is a powerhouse song, the choreography is excellent, the location, and production sets is outstanding, but to hear Max's voice is powerful,is like you into a motion picture movie trailer or soundtrack movie I couldn't get enough of Max Changmin's face, including the outfits for Max Changmin and his back dancers . ( Shout out to Max Changmin's stylists) I love this music video!!! I'm definitely going to buy that album! Thank you SM Entertainment, to have Max Changmin's comeback album! I love Max acapella!

He did a fantastic job with this song, it's as powerful as the original and the visuals and vocals are just stunning. I loved the cinematography but I really hope SM doesn't end this concept here. It has so much potential with the imagery throughout and at the end of the video.

Tvxq is part of the 2nd generation kpop groups from the Golden Era. Tvxq has been around longer than 12 years. Originally 5 members but now there are 2 members. For reference the new kpop groups are considered 4th gen. Fyi, they are also known as DBSK

Beyond expectations, the way they arrange the song, the beats, the pauses, everything, with his vocals, this was truly (in my opinion) different from anything.

I just watched the music video and then went to listen to it on Spotify and it sounds like they removed the extra sound effects, so they’re only in the music video and not on the Spotify version

Honestly, it’s because Max and TVXQ are 2nd gen K-Pop. He won’t win any awards either. It’s frustrating but it is what it is. That’s just how K-Pop works.

The beginning part of the song is so fresh! We rarely hear Changmin using so much of his low registers with minimal bg music and I’m absolutely loving it!
