- My wife and I are the original owners of a 2005 Audi A4 Avant Ultra Sport (B6) and we have been contemplating replacing it due to recent repairs it requires. When do you decide to replace a car that you really enjoy? Are there benefits in keeping an older car? Let's discuss in this quick update video.

A stage 1 tune would really wake the car up without adding very much strain on the engine or effecting the cars reliability. A lot of guys would pay top dollar for a one owner, low mile, all original ultrasport 👍🏽👍🏽
I have a very rare 2001 Audi S4 Avant turbo myself which I am not parting with. I do concur a basic ECU upgrade and a TCU as needed for my 2015 S3 are a no nonsense performance upgrades. Engines rarely run at the upped peak boost and modern ECUs are very good at protecting the engine. Just follow maintenance closely. A piece of advise, going to "Stage 2" usually means removing the Catalytic converter or installing a high flow one. I'm of the strong opinion that doing this only makes sense if you also plan to upgrade the turbo substantially. It is NOT worth the trouble in emission controlled areas.
For its age, it’s a clean example.
Frankly speaking, you have made a excellent series of videos for this particular car!!! Really appreciate!!!
Glad you’re hanging on to it... keep it for another 15 years 👍🏻. It’s a great spec.
Also stopping by to show some love to the A4: Hope you guys didn't get rid of it because it's still an amazing version of the A4 that'll definitely be worth more money as it gets older
We still have it but we are replacing more parts. I’ll do an update video soon. Thanks for stopping by the channel!
If you kept it that long and still love it then your crazy for even thinking about selling it. Even if you buy a new model it won't be the same bond
Great Looking Car! Love The Content On The Older Audi’s As Some People Just Abandon And Upgrade To Newer , Great Choice On Keeping It! It’s Only Getting Even More Rare.
Thanks! 👍
Great video I love the B6 A4 content! Glad you are hanging on to it Joe! If you are looking to do some small things that are best bang for the buck, do some googling on chipping and APR Tuning (1 or 1+). This really woke up the car for me and kept things fun for my 11+ years of ownership so far!
Thanks for the tip! I'll look in to it.
@@Joe_Hutchinson - If you are serious, I found a used set that would be a good deal:

Good luck with whatever you decide. =)
I'd love to buy this, Joe. Love your videos btw.
Glad you enjoy it!
I just stumbled upon your videos today because I'm potentially purchasing one and it is encouraging and quite convincing. The only difference between the one you own and the one I'm looking at is the color and the fact that it's not an Ultra Sport. Completely bone stock , however with allot of highway miles. I'm pretty handy with repairing engines and if I purchase it, it'll be my first Euro car.
We certainly have been happy with ours. Since we were the original owners, we have kept on top of maintenance it's entire life, which helps with it's longevity. Also, relatively low miles. We just clicked over 100,000 miles. A couple of weeks ago, one of the spark plug coils was causing a misfire so we had all 4 coils replaced, replaced the spark plugs themselves and the valve cover gasket. Although I believe I have had the spark plugs replaced before, this is the first time changing those other components. I think that is pretty good for the age of the car.
Good choice to keep bud.. I made the same decision here in MT with mine where it rips up winters! I will keep it and maintain this car forever and only make it better
Right on! Audi has done such a great job with the styling (still looks good after all this time) and the engineering (only things so far that need replacing are wear and tear items) that it's been a pleasure to own it. And it feels very unique on the road. Sure, it lacks some modern conveniences, but it's such a great car that I don't mind.
Nice video...
Thanks for the visit
Keep it Joe!!
Get a new car but keep the Audi......I know someone else can always tell you how to spend your money.
Just because of the manual and it's a wagon keep it forever.
Do you still have this car ?
Yes, we decided to keep the car.
Keep it and then get the RS6 Avant :-)
That's sounds like a great plan!
At $110,000 to start...no thanks. Clearly, it's a gorgeous and capable sport wagon, but that price is a bit outlandish.
