Mans just offended everyone by saying the shield slam is new in rise 😂
You do realize the shield slam was in multiple monster hunter games including world? Sounds like you haven't given S & S much of a chance.
i doubt hes played any of the older games if he thinks S&S wasnt good back then
@gabe5363 wasn't tri like the only game where SnS was on the lower end of weapons lol
@@TheArnoldification I haven't played all the monster hunter games, but after playing tri, world, and rise I can at least say it fells weaker than the other 2.
@@TheArnoldification i wouldnt know, back then my baby brain relied on kelbi stingshot lmfao
Tbh, SnS might've been better then hammer for knocking monsters out back in GU
The sword and shield has always been awesome! God Tier support and good consistant damage.
real ones know its just hammer with occasional severing attacks
Not support, SNS are some if not the best weapon to deal elemental damage/status effect.
Even in older games, I soloed gogmazios with a sword and shield back in MH4U
@@khalil8043 in mhr sns is a raw weapon
@@scuffed_z 😂 tell me you're a noob without telling me you're a noob, you probably only played the demo with the Seregios raw Sword and shield. Nah bro there are elemental sword and shields as well as ailment ones.
have you not touched sword and shield since like freedom unite?
I miss oils...
Damn, oils are the best system in xx.
They work so well with SnS, really rounds out the weapon. Oils link to the two primary traits of SnS: versatility, and item use. I don't feel that second one as much as I do in Generations
i miss lube
Sword and shield players have big wiggler.
To make up for the lack of balls 😂😂
Jocat mention 🎉
Oof
I can vouch
SnS is like playing a fighting game character. Combos for days
You've clearly not tried SnS in GU (oils for days) Iceborne (Shotgun -> Perfect rush) or 4U (Second highest mobility + moveset rework). Rise just borrows a bunch of loves from those and adds like 2 more (granted, that's what most weapons do)
Yeah honestly feels great in 4U. It's so simple and yet it works so well, and the reach weirdly doesn't feel like a huge issue there? Not sure why
@@nebula8893Mobility, you can pretty much reach monster super easily despite your mosquito needle range.
Frostcraft sns in Iceborne is literally busted in terms of DPS. Block > backhop from sheath into perfect rush, roll into sheath or another perfect rush. Hit for anywhere from 500-700 damage per hit depending on hitzones.
Frostcraft bar fills almost instantly when sheathed combined with the fasted sheath animation in the game. Velk Y gives quick sheath 3 so you can instantly sheath to refill that frostcraft bar before perfect rushing again.
@@HumbleHomunculus Playing SnS like it's a GS, sounds interesting
I don't know your channel but I don't think you're aware how truly popular SnS really is for the community. It's always been the high skill cap weapon based on the games even more so in World. Only reason it was less used than LS in World was because of the skill cap, while ls is noob friendly. Also the shield slam has always been a thing whether fist or elbow doesn't mean much.
Swag and Style is the only way to fight Rajang trust me, give it a try. It’s the best
Ahhh finally, a person with actual experience, I salute you good sir.
I have been telling people that the only way to hunt a Rajang properly is to use a SnS, but nobody listens.
"Swag and Style" I never heard that for a SnS but now im always finna use that 😂😂. Im a new SnS main after retiring the longsword. Literally have the most fun pumping out damage and 1v1'ing monsters with it. The only thing I need to get down is the Perfect Rush timing😩
Furious Rajang is a joke with Rise SnS.
excuse me
elbow drop?
SnS is, was, and always will be my favorite weapon. I don't care what anyone says. It's godlike. It's perfect. It's amazing. Sure, I also enjoy Greatsword, but SnS will *always* be reliable no matter which game I'm playing.
Yeeees, nothing is more badass than fighting Rathalos with SnS. Especially in MH Freedom. I've loved it then and I still love it now.
Jack of all trades weapon. In the best way possible.
Shoulder slam was in MHW too
GU*
Meanwhile mhgu players applying war crime oil to their weapon and curbstomping everything with striker style
Sns has allways ben awsome even in gen 1 lol you really had to master the hunt
In gen 1 it could be argued to be the best weapon, but that may be more so due to other weapons not having key features. It still baffles me the great sword couldn't charge until Dos
@@jokig I know it's wild to think that the vary thing the great sword is known for wasn't there originally and I belive it I still main sns today well a mix of that and gun Lance
@@Sirfortune881 I always used SnS, learned everything else well enough but just kept coming back. Bow as well for me though.
Gunlance is probably my second least used weapon after hunting horn though, absolutely no hate, I just have the least fun with them. Love seeing y'all fly across the map, though
@@jokig lmfao ya I can't use gunlance in rise its just to much bow is great I use to get some sweet screen shots with the bow
@@Sirfortune881 do you play on PC?
This is my favorite weapon
sword and shield mains are true underdogs
So, sword and shield hasn't been the best for me, but it has a special place in my heart because it got me past the wall of Seregios in MH4U. It got me to try new weapons. I was not having a good time with long sword against him. Ended up with insect glaive in the end for that game.
Just picked up swield and I love the perfect combo into elbow drop
" A NEW WEAPON'S?"
Took me a lot of time but finally I mastered all weapons
Shield and sword is OP. Give me one any day.
I pick that weapon just to main akuma
Spamming kunais and Shoryukens 👌👌
"You probably like to stay mobile" and then my 3 fav weapons are lance (the most immobile weapon), sword and shield, and charge blade (the middle ground). Yes, I like shields. Brain goes brrrr when I do a perfect block
How did you guess?
Count the amount of probablys
Sword and Shield has seriously beem one of the most versatile weapons since the beginng, and in skilled hamds dominates.
It just always got overlooked cause most people assumed it was the starter weapon you grow out of.
"heh. SHORYUUUKEEEEN."
*Monster gets knocked out*
My favorite thing to do with SnS is open fights with a KO. Even hammer pales in comparison to the mighty Metsu Shoryugeki.
@@co5micwaffle742 exactly, especially shoryugeki in GU the upgrades for that move were nutty
Nono, i like the big area swing. Deals good dps and looks awesome
In portable 3rd SeS was my main weapon , now in rise i like heavy bowgun a lot .
SnS has been an incredible weapon for decades even in 1st and 2nd gen
Bro thinks we just got this new sheild bash only in rise... oh lord
I love sns cuz of the parry move (along with the buff that let me parry a supernova of all things)
You should see me rock S&S in World; follow up after the shield bash and connect and it's an instant combo with an explosive finish.
As a frontier player i just like the thunderdance sword
As a sword and shield user I can confirm that the shield is the main weapon
I've always loved the sns. It just took the developers some time to love it too.
I tried to use hammer, but it didn't feel right. I picked up Sword and Shield, and realized I could bonk the monster into next week about as well but with a sickass back hop that makes me INVINCIBLE.
Spam perfect rush, and that one wirebug move
SnS was always cool and I don't like it in 5th gen I am taking this personally
I am ALSO taking it personally
Really? Why? I thought the one in Rise is good
@@blastmole299 while in Rise I think it is pretty good (though I really think the Metsu spam is too much), in World at least they made a lot of changes that completely changed how the weapon was used away from how it used to be
@@jokig what I don't like in World is it's very reliant on Perfect Rush to actually deal good damage, and in Rise I mostly use Metsu only for roars and get out of jail card.
I like SNS in Rise cause the standard combo is so easy to do with Twin Blade, and most importantly, it actually deals good damage compared to World
@@blastmole299 I have a LOT to say on World in general, but it probably has my second least favourite SnS after the 1st gen version
i play sns because i get to punch things with the hi ninja sword, im still waiting for a punch weapon capcom lol
I miss my oils.
jack of all trades, master of everything.
After gu sword and shield had a hige glow up
Dont forget the shotgum
The most fun SwSh builds in rise are Jumping 4, evade 4, some defense, lv5 of a elemental damage, and sharpening. So. Much. Fun.
OH! Also an anti-aerial rampage slot helps a ton👌🏻
It's criminal how underrated your channel is! All of your videos are so well made, definitely deserve more views and attention! ❤
I watched this video after bullying a pukei with an sns. Cool.
Meanwhile me in Rise: Haha Catspaw/Frenzy/Hellfire go brr
For context, I run a SNS set revolving around Paralysis shenanigans, Bloodlust, and Hellfire Cloak, plus I can use a Switch Skill Swap to remove my Hellfire instead of placing it for trips to a small but quick heal thanks to Quick Breath. I value the multihits from Windmill, Falling Shadow and the other Switch Skills a lot more than Shoryugeki/Destroyer Oil and the other Switch Skills that grant some KO damage, just so I can get monsters Paralyzed as much as possible.
I'm one who is practicing with all of them
I pick the sword and shield because of defend and also attack at the same time also I like close combat 😂😂😂😂
SnS.. is the prep player.. mostly has all the traps and the "mom of the whole party".. mostly has the wide area skill.. best combat support.. carries alchemy book ammunition for bowguns.... basically the jack of all trades in a party way back in gen 1-4...
I use it because it is the easiest for me to get used to
The elbow drop is in world as well, and boy, am I a SAS simp in that game
Sns has never been bad, it's kind of always been the secret best weapon
Sword and Shield was coolest in gu. Oils!!
I like the feel of MHWorld S&S a it better. The options in Rise are insane, but World's S&S feels a bit chunkier and more vicious, especially that Perfect Rush finisher.
I've liked sns all the way from older mh games bc I can string together my own combos
I spun a wheel of weapons to see which weapon I would be using for the return to world campaign and I got sword and shield. I was happy because I enjoyed sword and shield in Rise so I thought it would be similar levels of fun in world too. Boy was I wrong…
But not because it was the opposite of what I thought, it’s because it’s even better than I thought. Honestly, nothing will top my love for lance, but my god I feel like such a badass using SnS in World! I constantly feel like I’m taking a giant chainsaw and mutilating the monsters.
Sword and shield is basically the all rounder , you can basically do everything cutting, blunt attack, block, healing with item unsheaths and you are most likly to got a mount first. To bad it all jack off all trade but not good at anything
Jack of all trades, master of none.
Bro SnS is very strong one SnS user is strong enough to rip the fabric of reality the only thing stronger then SnS is GS MIGHTY KICK
Bro I’m sorry but 95% of SnS users cart first do the least amount of damage to the monster SnS user has joined the game me every time 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
@@chaddyboi7198 it depends on the player how they utilize SnS properly
btw I use SnS in FU and p3rd (actually my tertiary weapon)
@@alejandrorabang5083 that’s a cool story bro doesn’t change anything tho
@@chaddyboi7198 if doesn't change, then that's skill issue for you 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@chaddyboi7198Skill issue. Find better hunting partners 💀
I mean, I can drop a People's Elbow on a Magnamalo. What more can I ask?
As a main of every weapon with a shield. Heavy Bowgun included. Sword and Shield was never horrible in the previous titles. It's fast, versatile, it gives you breathing room to defend and use an item. You can even lay traps without sheathing.
So respectfully, please give S&S another chance. You'll never go wrong with picking it up.
Literally brush it off, when I first play World, kill fatalis have 4 eyes left so I made SnS, give it a try and it replace CB as my fav weapon
New elbow drop move?
hey... i do enjoy wrestling 😂😂
I use SnS because of JoCat
SnS was always cool.
“Maybe that was true in older games”
Nahhhhh
FAKE NEWS: Sword and shield had highest DPS at the end of MHW which was the latest installment before Rise excluding MHS. "New elbow drop move"???? 😅 I must be confused
SHORYUKEN
Tengo un dicho en monster hunter :
Hay dos motivos porque se usa la SnS
O eres muy nuevo en el juego o eres muy veterano jugando xD
nerfed between world and rise tbh
it was so good in World
and downright overpowered in GU
Never cared for over sized weapons in rpgs so the only weapons i use in MH are sword and shield and dual blades
Hmm interesting, we have the same mind set. Did people who use sns always gonna play dual blades?
While you two have a discussion on who’s weapon is smaller and weaker I’ll be killing the monster with my overly sized weapon while you two are in carts going back to camp
@@chaddyboi7198 Not everything needs to be some strange competition. Use whatever you like, no reason to attack others for their preference you complete weirdo
I'll just style on all y'all with back to back counters on LS. It's not about damage it's about style. Even tho I still have both anyways.
Me playing world:
SnS was always the best.
Everyone else just trying to look cool, but end up looking cringe af
It was never true. Stop with this bullshit elitism about sns or any other weapon jfc. I miss old world monster hunter where everyone was trying to prop everyone else up instead of putting them down
Tbf there was still quite a bit of elitism before, it just got amplified after the games got too popular
bro mh perfected sns in world and rise added wirebugs giving it more to play with but yea sns has not changed quite that much alwasy been good
Wait... I lame for the rest of the monster hunter series since the first one!?! I thought I was a cool hunter.
Well, I think you're cool
Nah they were cool b4 too
I just pick it so I can block
Despite it's faults, Rise did manage to make every weapon extremely viable
But i like old sns
Sword and board is NOT mobile
This guy sounds like he doesnt know what hes talking about lmao
Sns 4 life
Me when someone mentions Rise 🤮
Shit take play GU then say its lame ya dingus
It deals ridiculous damage in world not to mention its better at mounting than IG and Hammer in that title. Its probably the only weapon I got a consistent horns break on MR KT.
I used to love longsword till all the weebs and simps took over it and made it lame
Fake mh fan detected!
To everyone saying the shield slam is not new.
That isnt what he said.
The elbow drop wirebug skill is what he is talking about.
Anyway, a real hunter can and will use all weapons
Gay
Let's be honest, if you picked S&S before Rise was because you either were a new hunter and was your first class or most likely you're a fan of JoCat (or at least you watched the Crap Guides to Moster Hunter before playing it)
Charge blade exists because SnS is actually lame.
Facts bro your lame pick a better weapon😂 literally anything else would be better
Your only video is Fortnite.
