    1:58 A note about yarn and which yarn types to AVOID
    3:12 Pattern Starts
    7:51 Row 2 (pattern repeat row)
    9:44 Row 3 (a repeat of Row 2)
    📌 YARN and PATTERN INFORMATION:
    For my blanket (still a work in progress) I chained 124 (or 126) for an adult size lap blanket throw. I estimate it will take me approximately 6 balls of yarn (I will update exact amounts here once my blanket is finished!) ** UPDATE ** 5 BALLS OF YARN. 😂
    Pattern multiple is 2
    👉 Puff stitch steps: YO (Yarn Over), into stitch, YO, pull back through (3 loops on hook). YO, into stitch, pull back through (5 loops on hook). YO, into stitch, pull back through (7 loops on hook). YO, into stitch, pull back through (9 loops on hook). YO and pull through 8 loops (2 loops on hook) YO pull through remaining 2 loops.
    Chain an even number, then work your first puff into the 4th chain from your hook.
    Chain 1, skip a stitch, puff in next. Repeat until end.
    ROW 2: Chain 3, turn, work puff into ch1 space from row below. Chain 1, skip next puff, work puff into ch1 space. Repeat the chain 1, skip, puff sequence until the end of the row, ending with a final puff stitch inbetween the puff from the row below and the 3 chains.
    REPEAT ROW 2 FOR PATTERN.
    Yarn used: Ice Yarn Magic Light, 5mm Hook.

    🔥 Frequently Asked Questions:
    Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on RUclips yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
    How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
    How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
    Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
    How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
    Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
    Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet...

    Omg, Robin, i could cry..😭 when i get to the "4th yo, pull through" while making a puff, the stitches that are already sitting on a hook tighten and i am unable to pull the hook thru them without tightening them even more and the puff comes out looking shriveled up. 😭😭😭 how do you get the yarn to stay tall on the hook while pulling the rest of the puff's yo's onto it? I've done it over and over to try to figure out what goes wrong and it's as if that last 4th "yo-pull through" is too far for the hook and it ends up pulling the existing tall loops tighter and shorter.😭 please, help.😁🙏💖
    *UPDATE*🎆🎉😁
    So, i carefully got past the initial chain and the second row was an absolute breeze!! My fingers were still cramping from all the tension and suspense of the 1st row for a few minutes, omg 😂😂, but it's all good now!! And it's looking so puffy and even and just beautiful!!! Thanks for the tutorial, dear Robin!!!💖💖💖🧚‍♀️

      So glad it is working out for you! The last couple of YO's will tighten up a bit but it's just a case of pull up as hiiiiiiiiiiigh as you can - it'll be plain sailing from here on out now you've got past that first row tho! :D x

    I love the puff stitch. I have not used it for a blanket. for years I have made pentagram throw rugs to use up my stash yarns. They reside on my. Carpe diem s in high traffic areas, beside the beds and I have used them as gifts fo rs family. Happy unstashing....lol. As always, love your kitty, love your channel.

    I have been searching for an easy throw blanket to make. I love this puff stitch. I know some of the basic stitches in crochet but don't want to use a pattern with multiple different stitches. This looks great. I am going to give this a try. I love the flexibility with the yarn and hook size too.

    Nice blanket and tutorial. But you are the only one I have ever heard say to "pull the yarn through all but the last loop on the hook" ! All the patterns I have ever read in 26 years say to pull through all the loops on the hook...it makes the top of the stitch look a bit different!
    Please don't take this as a complaint because it's not.
    You do a good job of explaining and I have watched many of your videos and enjoyed them 😊

    • @HookedbyRobin
      @HookedbyRobin  4 года назад +1

      In all honesty, I do both ways for puff stitches! On my gloves (here: ruclips.net/video/-BJnHIdL0vg/видео.html ) I pull through all the loops at once which gives much more compact puffs - it all depends on the look I'm after really! I've found that this way (pulling through all but that last loop) gives lighter, slightly taller puffs which is perfect for something like a blanket 😄

      It would work for heavier yarn yes (and yes, definitely use a larger hook) - it might work up heavy in weight though :-)

    how many chain stitches to make a throw blanket for adult

    • @HookedbyRobin
      @HookedbyRobin  5 лет назад

      I chained roughly 124 (or 126 I can't quite remember) for my adult sized lap blanket - I have the full information in the description box (including a written version of the pattern) if that helps! If you want it bigger, just chain an even number to the width you would like your blanket to be x

    Please could you help me. I am making this blanket and I keep having the same problem. My first row looks fine when I do
    It and after my second row but after row three the bottom row puffs all go straggly with big loops. I have tried doing more rows to see if it does it further up but it doesn't they all look like they did when I did them. I have tried changing my tension but it still happens. I am using the same wool as you and the same size hook. Any ideas about what I am doing wrong? Thanks 😘😊🤗.

    • @HookedbyRobin
      @HookedbyRobin  4 года назад +1

      Hmmm that's odd 🤔 I wonder if maybe going down to a 4mm hook would sort that? Do you have naturally looser tension? I can be quite an angry tight crocheter at times hence why I go up a bit in hook size for my puffs

    • @loominl6215
      @loominl6215 4 года назад +1

      @@HookedbyRobin I have very tight tension and like I said the rest of the puffs are perfect. I will try a smaller hook but I like the size of the puffs on 5mm.Thanks for your help I appreciate it.😘😊🤗

    Quick question, I’m using a different type of yarn, but I want my blanket to look like yours. What weight is the yarn you’re using? I can’t find anywhere in the description that says anything about it.

  • @allabtyarn4623
    @allabtyarn4623 4 года назад

    I just tried to purchase this yarn and it will not let me. It requires a tax id number. I don’t want to resell it I only need 4 skeins (1 package).

    • @HookedbyRobin

    • @allabtyarn4623

      Hooked by Robin yes, I was. I had no clue I needed a tax id for it. I searched the internet all day today and found Ellis Yarns. No tax id required and they sell 4 per package.
