You really should solder or use wire nuts on the power connections. An un-soldered or insecure connection can build up heat and start a fire. Be completely safe for pennies.
Wouldn't it have been better to instead of splicing the wires together, just get a wire connector. That way if you ever needed to replace the unit again it's just pull the connector apart and plug the new one right in.
Flash Gordon you probably don't have this type of cooler then a thermoelectric cooler won't get that cold they generally only cool 20-30 degrees below outside temp

I have an Avanti SWC2801 Wine Chiller. It has no power at all. The receptacles check out okay and there are no tripped fuses in the electrical panel. Is the above problem in the video also symptomatic of the unit not powering up or just the failed cooling kit?? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

This looks like my twin-star wine cooler, i had to move the upper controller to the lower to get the lower unit to cool. where can i by a the control board and cooling unit? Twin-star says mine is obsolete.

Well done video. My wine cooler is doing the opposite. Everything freezes even with the highest temp setting, so I'm guessing a thermostat issue?

I have a Candor unit. Power went out. Played with connection. Got power, fan, but will not cool.
