My Personal Best Kayak Striped Bass Ever!!!!! NJ

Follow me on Instagram and Tiktok @Shoreman_docfishing for all my fishing activity. The day started out slow and I thought nothing was going to happen for me but I continued searching and fishing. This is by far the biggest catch of my life, striped bass fishing from a kayak. This catch feels a lot more personal to me because I've been grinding and finally got rewarded with this beauty. I wasn’t able to get an exact weight on this fish, only thing I had onboard was a 30lb boga grip that I didn’t trust holding this fish. It would’ve been a waste of time attempting to get a weight because I knew it would've bottomed out my boga. This fish had to be closer to 40lbs or maybe even over. All I know is, that fish was HEAVY! I own a lot of fishing plugs and the one that never seem to let me down is the “DAIWA SP MINNOW” black and yellow 6” floater. That plug will forever be a staple in my bag.
PS: THE FISH WAS SAFELY RELEASED AND THE STRINGER WAS USED ONLY FOR BETTER HANDLING AND FOOTAGE. THANKS FOR WATCHING!

Rod: Ocean tackle international 7' 2-6oz
Reel: Daiwa saltist 3000
Line: Berkley x9 20lb
Lure: Daiwa salt pro minnow black/yellow 6"

Great Catch! I have used a 30lb boga on a 40lb fish no problem holding. I think boga advertises it can hold fish weighing double the scale capacity, but not positive because I never caught a bass that big to test it

Juat subbed and nice catch. Can't wait to get out there and catch them hogs. I'm from nor cal and a catch like that here is a striper of a life time. My pb was a 32 as a grown adult w/kids. But when I was kid the biggest I've caught was a 55incher in the early 90s at hogan lake/damn.
