Hi Sarah, my two cents would be to do wainscotting and stick with gold sconces but with a clear shade, the white globes look cheap and I don't feel they suit the theme with the beautiful brick and mirror. It's not necessary to match the same gold tones in a room, you can actually mix metals but in this case, I would stick with the gold hues. I am excited to see how the ensuite turns out. Great job and I do enjoy your videos.

Mary, as always so thoroughly thought out and curated. I think the mirror is stunning. My only negative is the wall sconces. They seem very ‘school house” and the mirror, prints, wall hook have an old world quality. I think something more in that style would pair better - but please understand you asked, so my opinion. Can’t wait to see it all completed so we can journey to the entryway and living room. Hope your New Year is off to a great start. Look forward to spending time with you on your channel. Best wishes.

LOVE THE FAUCET AND MIRROR, I THINK THE SCONCES ARE PRETTY BUT MAYBE OF A DIFFERENT STYLE, AND WON'T GIVE YOU ENOUGH LITE.

I love the brick 🧱 wall Sarah! I’m loving the look that you’re going for in your bathroom too. Love the idea of the wall sconces, but I was thinking maybe you could spray paint them more of an antique gold color. You may even be able to use the rub-n-buff on them. I think that would make them coordinate nicely with your vignette. I love the vintage look though, but I know you like to mix vintage and modern. Whatever you choose will look amazing because you have great taste!🥰❤️🤗
Have you purchased glass shelves yet for your bathroom? I have three glass shelves that I can send to you for your bathroom. I’m nervous about shipping them, because I don’t want them to break. But I think as long as I package them good they should be fine. The glass is pretty thick too. If you can send me your email I can send you pics to see if you like them or not. I can also send you the measurements (I have three of them.)

Love the schoolhouse shade on the sconces though IMHO the base looks more contemporary to me. Perhaps once it’s all done it will meld together. I really enjoy your thrifting and decorating videos!

I think the wall scones are nice. Personally I think if you got something more ornate, it would take from that incredible mirror. AND… the gold frames are not a perfect match to the mirror frame, but pair so nicely. I would wait until you get further along and leave the mirror and lights near each other and keep looking at them. If all else fails, can you “Rub N Buff” the lights 😬 ?
I love the Brick Wall… I just about screamed with excitement when I saw that ! What do you need to do the prep your walls for that ? I have pine vertical shiplap that has been on the walls for over 60 years…YES 60 years! When I was very little my Dad put it up!!! Can I put brick on it like you are doing ? Or would I need a different wall base ? I just love how you put that on… the thick grout …. LOVE LOVE LOVE…so old world feeling!

Like what you’ve picked out, the bathroom is going to look lovely. As for the wall sconces I can see what you’re struggling, it probably the most shiniest brass piece of the entire collection. It would be one thing if it was mixed with black or oil bronze to give a pop, but not sure it’s helping you out with a good set of antique looking brass pieces. I’d try to aim more something closer to the faucet brass to balance the tone.

love the brick wall I need to do that in my kitchen. I like the sconces but I agree the gold seems less in color but it might not even seem like that once all together.. not like all the gold items are sitting on each other u will have to see maybe if u dont like u can spray paint? cant wait to swe the final reveal

I think the sconce are too simple for the mirror and faucet you are using ( they are cute but I think a different style something more ornate would work better )
I do like the wall sconces. When I first saw them I also thought about the different gold tones but as I saw everything you are incorporating I agree that you can have differ tones and that in my opinion can give character! Like in your bedroom with your gorgeous chandelier! You have an awesome eye for design so I know you will end up with it looking absolutely stunning no matter what you end up doing! I love that anthropology mirror so much! And the lamp and the little hook potentially for towels! I love the direction you are going! And I love that chamber pot. The only thing I don’t love is that you find all of the beautiful ironstone and I can’t find even one piece here in Ohio😂😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️ I’m just teasing! I like the sconces very much, but you go with what you like!
I love how this ties in with your bedroom. I love the sconces and like how they are a bit more simple. Everything looking more ornate can be a bit overwhelming. I think if you changed the color to a gold that blended, i think someone mentioned this, or maybe an oil rubbed bronze color it would tie in better. But if you don't love them, then send them back.

I actually thought the sconces looked totally out of character, then when you showed the little picture of mirror and brick wall. It pops, brings it modern but still oldish looking. Perfection. I'd keep them it is totally unexpected and is just the right touch. Thats me though. I 'd keep them it makes the rest of the things like mirror and all the other metal touches; pictures stand out even more. Peace! Cannot wait to see it finished.

I like where you are going with this. The gold on the lights matches the frame on you closet doors. Its hard to determine until its all together. I know that's no help but whatever you decide will be awesome. No one will know you were thinking of a different gold. Can't wait to see it all together. You should start a design video where you help people decide what looks best. You have a real talent.
Your bathroom is beautiful! You’re holding the hardware so close to your eyes to scrutinize; the hardware will be hardly noticeable unless you point it out. I love the sconces! Yes, different brass finishes are okay.

Love the bathroom so far. I like the light fixtures, but you are correct and I too felt something was "off" when paired with the other items. My 1st thought was the bathroom has a European feel and the sconces don't. I think something fancier and old world. That mirror is gorgeous and I like it even better than the round one. I also think the brick looks great. Decorating is trial and error. You have a good eye and it will all come together beautifully!

I think going all the way down with the brick was the best idea, because I grew up in NYC and a brick wall was all the way down it is just an incredible look. The gold is amazing but the actual white globe there is something strange about it

Can you use the rub and buff on the light sconces? That might take off some of the brightness and make them look older
I’m not sure about the scones, but as you said the walls aren’t finished. I think the scones look too new next to the mirror frame since the metal isn’t antiqued.

I am feeling the same as you on the lights. Not as perfect as everything else. Everything else has a beautiful vintage look. The lights are brand new. Your bathroom is so warm and cozy. Love everything about it. Do you have a Habitat for Humanity in your area? You can find nice vintage things for your home there also when remodeling.
I do have one close by. I’ve been looking , but so far I haven’t saw any.❤️

Go with the wall sconces you won't notice the difference in colour when everything is done. Its eclectic.
Thinking is so fabulous .. all of it. As for the wall sconces ..IMHO ..think you should keep looking ..there is something out there that would fit in way better .. that's is why you are iffy about them .. cause you know it's not quite right.. it seems they are out of the them which could be ok..they seem more mid century modern..and mid century modern my least favorite ..its a whole different kind of taste lol..not for me ..but anyway ..think you should keep looking cause everything else is so fabulous that vanity you did 😍 pictures..pot plant..everything lol can't wait to see it done. It's starting to shape up. I the lights are fine, but maybe.you could use some of that rub and buff to tone it down, if you think it might help. But always follow your heart. 🦋💓🦋
