Tom is insaaanely talented. Love his feel for chords and his solos. Always heard a lot of John Mayer and Dilla in his music.
It's funny because Tom uses his John Mayer signature strat on like 90% of his songs, he gets so much of his bite and tone from that guitar. But since John left Fender it seems like they're using Tom to push the new line of strats hahah. Sweet vid nontheless

For once someone who knows about John for his blues music and not his pop. Srv was and always will be his hero. His high school days were filled with blues. He’s done his thing with the trio and continuum but we all want him to go back to SRV and jimi and channel that again. That’s his stuff. I can only hope.
The whole of continuum and trio is meant to be blues? Have you never seen their live stuff?

SergeantPlant Oh trust me I have. I was just saying that it’s not necessarily straight up blues, unless he’s with the trio and doing that kind of thing. Check out my playlists, you’ll see all of the performances I’m aware of. I’m kinda a John Mayer junky, i literally know everything about him since he was 13 and started playing guitar after hearing Texas flood. Everything from his band called Villanova junction to his srv signature strat and Tattoo. I know it all 😂.
That's my point though- he's never stopped doing blues? He's still doing it all, I don't know why you think that's something he doesn't touch anymore?
SergeantPlant I never said he didn’t do it anymore...... I simply stated that he’s not known for blues by the average girl or guy that has just heard of his name. If you were to ask people I think the majority would label Mayer as a pop artist. Real fans and people really into music know about his chops. I also stated that he doesn’t do blues all the time. That’s cuz he doesn’t. He does all different genres. Which is true. Just cuz I said that, doesn’t mean I said he still doesn’t do blues anymore.... he always has and I hope he always will.
I’ve had my honeyburst performer since about June 2019 and it’s everything I’ve ever wanted from a strat / guitar all together. The sound, feel and aesthetic are all superb. It was a real challenge when hunting for the right strat for me from previous years, models and the newer lineups and I’m really glad it all aligned with the American performer.

Really great video production. Fender has absolutely the best, most high quality production videos. They make you fall in love with their instruments with each video. Not to mention the exposure to really great up and coming artists. Win win all around. I love Fender Play too.

@@MonticArckeys It was at Paradiso in Amsterdam yes! I actually met his tour manager after the show and asked what guitar he was playing. He told me it was for a Fender commercial, turned out to be a pretty cool video haha!

Anybody know the kind of pedal he's using for Disco Yes in the intro?? It's similar to the guitar effects on Redbone- almost like some type a subtle wah effect. I haven't been able to dig anything up on it. Any gear nerds out there?
I think it's a wah pedal with reverb or chorus. Not sure though
