Congrats to jokic for being the MVP four years in a row. He was the MVP last year too, they just made a mistake and sent the trophy to the wrong person which was Joel embiid.
Well in that case, Jokic shouldn't have won his first two because they cheated Giannis out of it because they didn't want the whole voters fatigue issue....🤷🏿♂️

When you look at how the Nuggets are performing in the playoffs, despite defeating the Lakers, you have to appreciate Jokić even more. He makes average players look much better than they are. Where would the Nuggets be without his points on great shooting %, rebounds and assists? The guy does it all!

It feels heavily misdirected to tell the guy who just won the award that he didn’t deserve it over someone else when he isn’t responsible in any way for how people vote. If Shaq disagreed, he should have directed it towards those writing the ballots, not the guy who only does the best he can when he plays like everyone else in the league.

Nikola Jokic was drafted as the 41th pick in the second round of the 2014 draft. It was a legendary draft class. Andrew Wiggins was the 1st pick of the 2014 draft, and he was an integral part of the Warrior team winning the title in 2022. Embiid was the 3rd pick of the 2014 draft. Aaron Gordon was picked as #4. Marcus Smart was the 6th pick, and Julius Randle the 7th. Embiid has been very unlucky regarding injuries. He's played 43 games on average out of 82 games per season. Jokic has played 75 games on average per season. Jokic's teammates have been far more unfortunate. Murray has played 59 games per season. Michael Porter jr. has played 45 games per season. Jokic has helped his team to make the playoffs every season for the past six years. Jokic has gotten his name written in the history books with the following records: The only NBA player ever to lead his team in all five major statistics (points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks) and field goal percentage in the same season. The only NBA player to record a 15+ assist triple-double while shooting 100% from the field. The only NBA player to record multiple 35+ point triple-doubles while shooting 90% from the field. The only NBA player to record multiple 30+ point triple-doubles without a turnover. The only NBA player to post 30 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists in multiple playoff games. Most triple-doubles in the same postseason. Most playoff games with 30+ points, 15+ rebounds and 10+ assists.
Ain't no way 50 30 point games is an argument for an mvp case, the mvp Ain't no scoring title, and dude not only scored but rebounded and assisted and his record is also the first in the West. That's the dominance which deserves being mvp!!

But he often argues that he should have been MVP 04-05 and 05-06...when he was on Miami...only problem with that is that Dwayne Wade was also on Miami and more deserving of MVP votes in those seasons (so was Kobe)...not to mention that Nash deserved both MVPs and arguably a third in row over Dirk :)

Jokic has gotten his name written in the history books with the following records:
The only NBA player ever to lead his team in all five major statistics (points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks) and field goal percentage in the same season.

Most playoff games with 30+ points, 15+ rebounds and 10+ assists.

@kanajingly8957 that's very true. Shaq was incredible and definitely the most dominant big man ever. He also seems like a great guy. But most dominant doesn't mean MVP. He played with Kobe Bryant in LA and Wade in Miami. Shaq puts Kobe in the GOAT debate and wouldn't suggest he was more valuable than Kobe.
