So mad about 355 coming so far as a character only for that to be her ending. I get that life isn't about getting what you want and that's Yorrick's whole story. From day one, it's not about what he wants, it's about the whole journey and what he learned from it. Sad and beautiful at the same time
355 was not a "good" character, per say, but she was a fascinating character. I found it very unbelievable that Yorick fell in love with her. I could see a growing love, like a brother-sister love, but not a "romantic" love. Mediocre ending.
Ending broke me. I guess I just wanted for a second to pretend that even in media we could get that one happy ending. Maybe the one time we could get the closure that we wanted. But as you pointed out so eloquently, life moves on. It’s not cruel or sick or evil. It just moves. I miss 355 the most, I have never been devastated like that before from a book.
A great ending to a great series, I cried when Ampersand died and when 355 died, I was shocked. Seeing the characters future was a great thing. Thanks for bringing this series Danny, can't wait for your Preacher videos!

It did come out of nowhere. Guess Beth because being with women for 5 years and Hero being a former amazon. Guess she did want a piece of Yorrick. People Re sick now. No morals. People sleep with there ex fathers and brothers. Anything goes Book had to keep Beth around so they decided to make another lesbian couple
Watching Dannymalt’s reviews each Sunday morning is becoming my ritual. I really enjoyed this series and the most touching part for me was when the monkey died. Very touching scene and I like how it also provided closure to 355. It would have been nice to see York with 355 but sometimes you can’t have the fairytale ending. Good job Dannymalt.
Yorick not killing the Israeli after she killed 355 was just such growth and control. Thank you for this journey, been watching the series for a few weeks now. And excited to move onto the next thing!

What a series. It had an amazing plot and characters. Yorick would have to be my favorite character. I love how he developes and grows as the series moves forward. Alison and 355 were just as great if not better than Yorick as characters. All 3 of them had an amazing rapport with each other. I’m sad to see that this series ended but i’m thankful and happy for the overall trip.

This hit me so hard in the feels that I am trying not to sob. Seeing the growth and changes that made these characters amazing, but seeing the end is so impactful.
Whatever that royalty free music was when the straight jacket was blowing in the wind, it sounded a lot like that song by Ben Nichols called “last pale light in the west”… and It really sums up how I felt about Yoirk throughout this whole series.

I went into this comic to see some post apocalyptic world where everything goes to shit to see this unfold the way it did. Man. This story is amazing. I hope the show does it justice cus this thing is a porduct of its time but with how the world basically stood still for a cosmic second. Its amazing.
I missed the premiere but holy Heck this series is one of the top adult comics of all time and seeing that this is getting a TV series. I'm kind of curious who'll they'll get for an older Yorick for a series finale. The twists, the turns and the the take of apocalypse fiction where "men are dead but women thrive". Just I'm hyped for the TV series more and more.
I can't buy 355 falling in love with Yorick. She opened up and made friends with Allison and I loved the bond the trio formed. I also can't believe Yorick stayed with the other Beth just for a baby when he had shown growth in telling Beth D he didn't love her. Ampersand's death was devastating. 355's not so much because she killed thousands so a peaceful death in old age wasn't her style.
Beth D as in baby momma or girlfriend? I don't remember the baby momma motivations but the girlfriend was someone he did love, just everything changed when she said that they weren't going to last and she was going to break up because the whole pass on the man, but yes to the last man and maturity. Good god I hate how this series was 1 sentence from a happy ending

The point of this whole clones thing was to show that while the clones do have the same body they don't have the same soul, and the "originals". Yorick was in love with 355 because of the time they spent together, that's why the clone Yorick wouldn't feel the same way for the clone 355, the clones aren't the same people as the "originals".

I enjoy taking this journey with you. The last two volumes were a lot. I wasn't ready to lose 355 after seeing her growth. I thought they'd have more time with their feeling in the open, but like life, you have to appreciate the time you did have. I love the scene explaining why Yorick said no to having her cloned. He respected her wishes and let it be the end. A small moment carried so much weight.

Up until i heard the writers version of the real cause behind the deaths, i actually kind of liked this series because unlike most such fiction the world got no better without men, the women were just as petty, vindictive, and violent as the "toxic Men" they replaced... but in the end, instead of making it about how bad men are they fell back on how bad the US is... When i read that part, i heard only a lying Psychopath buying into more shoddy Intel, but to hear that the writer claim this is the "truth" just makes me want to chuck this in the circular file along with so many other such works... First off, it was clearly established that the effect traveled around the globe at the speed of light... no bio or chemical agent can travel that fast under ANY circumstances. SO in no way does is this "Theory" make any sense... in point of fact this is SCI FI... so the "Morphogenetic resonance" idea put forth by Dr Mann's father is the ONLY theory that even remotely fits the "facts" of the story. To then claim the US did it is just flat out CRAP writing. Something this series avoided nicely up until that point. Just like D&D did on GOT.. the writer seriously shit the bed there , but at least it was after the fact... Ignoring that it was damn good, not perfect, but damn good.
Damn this was an amazing comic. I’m so sad the show failed so badly, I really enjoyed the guy who portrayed Yorick, he really captured the vibe of the character for me. Amp was awesome.

I debated covering Old Guard. I tried to read it two weeks or so ago to prepare to maybe cover it, and didn’t like it. Only read like 2 issues, so it might be good, but I wasn’t feeling it. So I figured I’d just skip it. Still going to check out movie tho. A lot of people asked me to cover Warrior Nun too, but the reviews for the Netflix show are pretty bad, so I’m passing on that too. But yeah, if I was full time RUclips, I’d cover all this stuff, even if I’m mixed on it. UPDATE: I read it fully now, and I did like it a lot in the end. I will be covering Old Guard soon.

SO in no way does is this "Theory" make any sense... in point of fact this is SCI FI... so the "Morphogenetic resonance" idea put forth by Dr Mann's father is the ONLY theory that even remotely fits the "facts" of the story. To then claim the US did it is just flat out CRAP writing. Something this series avoided nicely up until that point. Just like D&D did on GOT.. the writer seriously shit the bed there , but at least it was after the fact... Ignoring that it was damn good, not perfect, but damn good.

Damn this was an amazing comic. I’m so sad the show failed so badly, I really enjoyed the guy who portrayed Yorick, he really captured the vibe of the character for me. Amp was awesome.

After Preacher sometime in the future can you cover The Old Guard. The Netflix movie was pretty good but when I found out it was a comic, I immediately thought you would be the best person to cover it! Keep the videos coming!!
I debated covering Old Guard. I tried to read it two weeks or so ago to prepare to maybe cover it, and didn’t like it. Only read like 2 issues, so it might be good, but I wasn’t feeling it. So I figured I’d just skip it. Still going to check out movie tho.
A lot of people asked me to cover Warrior Nun too, but the reviews for the Netflix show are pretty bad, so I’m passing on that too.
But yeah, if I was full time RUclips, I’d cover all this stuff, even if I’m mixed on it.
UPDATE: I read it fully now, and I did like it a lot in the end. I will be covering Old Guard soon.
