- In this episode, I move to the mountainous region of Ubud to visit a resort that has spectacular landscaping. The Udaya is a lavishly landscaped resort, run by a team that loves plant care and landscaping. In this tour I show you their collection, as well as how they maintain/care for it. This is also a chance for us to take a vacation by immersing ourselves into the relaxing and holiday vibes as we observe restricted traveling these days.

This is the tour I’ve been waiting for. It looks like a hotel in a botanical garden. Hard to believe only three people keep this up. Interesting about spraying the orchid with rice water. Great, great video. It’s so wonderful “visiting” this place with someone who loves the plants and can identify almost all of them. This was the best.
The staffs love working with plants too and its so nice to see. Most of the people living in this region of Bali have respect for the environment.

You should definitely get the one with white flowers along the runners. I really can't remember the name right now, but I have a lot of them. Each segment on those runners look for soil and grow roots. Very easy to take care of, so is the horsetail (the bamboo-looking one).

Calathea LOVES Ubud. I always bought my calatheas from Ubud cuz they looked sooo healthy. But then, when I brought them to my home in Nusa Dua (near the beach) they're slowly dying T___T. I think it's because the climate in general (Ubud is in the mountain, it gets cold in the night, not really hot at noon, high humidity, etc), not just because of how much they get the sunlight.
I think we also thrive in ubud no? Every time I go there I feel at peace and rested.

The plants with white flowers in the pond are water lilies, not lotus. The plants you described as "banana" like plants are alpinias or commonly referred to as red ginger 🙂
Furiously googling these and committing them to memory now haha. Landscaping plants are so different than what Im used to.
