Just ordered my first Recteq, and decided on the 1250! Can't wait for it to show up! This video gave me confidence that I too can put it together in 7 minutes and 39 seconds
This video could use more hopeful information like what bolts to use and where they go. I some areas of the bolts are hard to install because it clashes with other bolts on the side.
Recteq needs a better video with better installation instructions. Including the names and numbers of bolts needed.
Have now cooked 4 meals on my new 1250 brisket Chicken Chicken wings and burnt ends and bacon wrapped port tenderloin. All were excellent. Smoker is very well made I’ve cleaned it all and vacuumed the pot. It’s a pleasure to own. The cover while well made is snug and I already have 2 tears from the sharp edges on the pellet hopper. It needs to be a touch larger or more heavily reinforced.
Thanks BBQ DAD, easy, squeezy. Got em put together in record time😎
My 1250 just arrived today! Thanks for putting this video together. Can't wait to get using this baby!!!
Got my RecTeq 1250 in last week and this video helped a ton to put the grill together.
Thank you!!!
Just got my email that my new 1250 shipped!!!!! Can’t wait to get this beauty.
Great video! ❤
Thank you so much! This is very helpful!
So simple BBQ Dad can do it. Should I upgrade my 680? Hell yeah!
Anyone else have issues when attaching shelve bolt, hitting small bolt that is on link on barrel assembly?
that part was a real pain to get through.
hell yes. I honestly was putting it together for 3 hours. Didn't help that I had to start/stop this video 50 times.
Yeah no kidding. Maybe next time make a slower video . They made a 7 min video for a 3 hour assembly . Pain in the ass
Yes remove the tie-downs on the upper part or it's not possible. HORRIBLE design decision. the Light would be an amazing addition from my old RT-700. These tie-downs are purely marketing, no actual R&D.
I have images but you can't upload them here
mine is on its way, I like the assembly music who is it so I can listen to it while assembling mine?
This is supposed to be an instruction video. How about actually talking and giving instructions? Why are the bolts washers and nuts labeled if their label letter is never referenced? When installing the legs dont give instructions on installing all 4 legs then AFTER say to leave 2 bolts off until the next part. I like the rec tec products but this is a terrible instruction video.
Same issue here this is a joke.
Yup
Totally agree. I was very disappointed. I spent over 3 hours putting it together... along with watching this video 50 times.
Yeah, I ended up just downloading the manual and using it.
Along with maybe mentioning what sized wrench will be needed.
What a pain in the butt. Just put a manual in with the grill. No directions on which bolts to use for what. Had to pause the thing and rewind it so many times I was humming the stupid song in my sleep. Very frustrating.
Would you recommend the competition cart for the 1250 if it's going to be mostly on a back deck? I'm just curious how sturdy the included base is going to be compared to the comp cart.
Wish this came more assembled or RecTeq offered some sort of additional service to have it assembled
Or that they just labeled the parts (especially the hardware). This was frustrating to assemble!

I just wouldn’t have the patience to assemble it. I assembled many Traeger’s but the wifi controller’s were already attached with the harness wires.
Thank you!! I got it done. Appreciate y’all.
Great video just got mine and this video made it a breeze. Also great job on how you labeled the hardware made things super quick.
Anyone else have issue with 1 of the leg bolts not lining up
Installing the front folding shelf was just about the most obnoxious thing ever. I had to remove the nuts from a factory installed screw on each side. If you look closely, the assembler in this video removed them but there's no mention of it.
Yo
Issues with this: The manual does not cross reference bolts to job numbers. Biggest complaint was the "new tie downs", there is less then 1/8" clearance to attach the upper leg bolts. I just freaking removed them completely. Why in this video you show them removed "close up shots", and did not mention removing them is beyond me. Just stop putting them on the RT-1250 or put them some where else. YOU CANNOT get those legs on with them in place.
What name did you give the rt1250?
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'm kind of shocked that neither the video or manual tell you what sized wrench will be needed for assembly. Seems like a pretty key piece of info to have before starting the process.
Not hard to figure out 😂
@@jzs05stanggt1 and yet their customers serv reps didn't know when asked. Feel free to share with the class what you think it is.
It would be nice if the listed tools needed
Just curious but does the 1250 have a hopper dump?
no
Looks cute compared to my BFG
Need all the distracting music for the assembly
Drop the music. Slow down. Have two videos for the RT 1250. One video for the standard legs and another for the competition cart. The blister pack for the hardware is not conducive to happy thoughts. It takes a 17 mm wrench, post it, print it, say it. You know how to do this better.
These instructions suck.
These instructions absolutely are beyond bad!
Could you explain? It's pretty easy, step by step instruction. Happy to look at ways to improve though!
