    Just an FYI. In the past year, Recteq has upgraded the 590 and 700. They both now include the upgraded wifi controller, faster auger and cast iron deflector and can reach temperatures up to 700.

    Y'all forgot to talk about the warranty, and it really is worth mentioning so it could be added to the list of pros. Starting with the RT-700 and going up to the RT-2500, they all have a 6 year warranty that covers pretty much everything. Recteq also has a customer service that is second to none. I absolutely love my RT-700!

    I have the OG RecTeq 680. I bought this pellet smoker new and have been using it for more than 8 years. You did not touch on the 2 biggest Pros... The Warranty and Customer Service. The few issues I have had with my RT-680 have been taken care of fast and without any questions. I have had RT's customer support return my calls on a Sunday evening and walk me through a simple fix. RecTeq even sent me the owner's personal phone number in case I have any issues! Love your videos.

    The one thing not mentioned is the support that Recteq provides. Customer service second to none. They are built like tanks. I have the 700's younger brother the 590. Perfect for two people that love to grill. What sold me is the smoke on low, and the high temps available.

    Missed mentioning the PID temperature control. Rock solid temperature control. The app is surprisingly full featured as well. Definitely trying using it to bake as well. Makes awesome pizza and something about brownies made on it are so much better. Expensive yes but it's built to be around a long time as opposed to one to replace every other year.

    I've had my RT-1250 now for about 7 months and it has been fantastic, just cooked a tri tip on it with the reverse sear, 36 degrees ambient, grill went from 200 degrees smoke setting to over 650 for searing in less than 10 minutes! Yes they are expensive but built like a tank and worth every penny.

    • @HVACRTECH-83
      @HVACRTECH-83 Год назад +2

      No they're not expensive at all actually for the quality. Really fair prices in my opinion for all rectec models. I would never say they're expensive like this video says. Now yoder on the other hand, ok I would agree if someone said they're expensive, but then again you generally get what you pay for, people say rectecs are built like tanks, but those people have never seen a yoder in person. A yoder makes a rectec look like a pit boss.

      How quick does the temperature recover when opening the lid when turning things over?

    • @byroncoffelt7023
      @byroncoffelt7023 Год назад +1

      @michaelgerald7542 usually pretty quick, 2-3 minutes depending on ambient also. Sometimes goes up to 50 degrees over set temperature after opening lid but temp control will get it back down to set temperature but can take 5-10 minutes

    I got my RT 1250 almost exactly 1 year ago. It's my 1st ever pellet grill and I love it. Great cooks out of it. I bought the cover for it for when it's not in use, and the cover is a pain in the butt to put on and off. Waaay too tight. But hey we don't eat the cover right. 😁

    I'm working with Recteq to purchase a grill and have been frustrated by the lack of an upper rack and the exhaust out the rear of the grill. I only need a grill for 3 or 4 people, so this seems like a waste of pellets and space. But now I see that with the dual band WIFI, the included $90 front shelf, the traditional chimney, the upper rack and the 6 year warranty this isn't that far a stretch from the RT700 that I jumped up to after first looking at a RT590. Besides, I can charge my neighbor 2 beers just to come over and look at it every day. Thanks for the info.

    I would add the long warranty and customer service as positives. Additionally, this PID controller can be controlled from the road on your mobile device if you leave the house to pick up something. It is IoT enabled (Internet of Things). Main negative is the wheels, the bearings go bad due to weight distribution. Customer service will send out new ones at no charge. I am a huge fan of this grill. I have had one for 4 years and it runs flawlessly.

    I have my second Recteq. I wore the first one out then had a bacon grease fire. It clogged the auger. What a mess. The grill held up when we blasted the carbon out with water. Got it up a running again. Recteq was super helpful through the process. Tough little grill.
    I have a newer larger model now. Love the quality and ease of use. Easy to clean. No more bacon fires for me either!

    I know you folks have done reviews on the Camp Chef Woodwind Pro and the Recteq. Since the Woodwind Pro is now all stainless do you think it is as well built as the Recteq? I know the Woodwind Pro has a lot more options like ash dump, easier to change pellets, 4 temp probes and lower smoke temp and woodburner. The Recteq has higher cook temp. If both smokers are built about the same then would you say it is worth it to get the Woodwind Pro. I was leaning toward the Recteq because of the all stainless construction and the fact it is better built, but now the Woodwind Pro is all stainless. It would seem that pushes it ahead of the Recteq? What do you think?

    • @Heygrillhey
      @Heygrillhey  Год назад

      It depends on what you value most. The only places the Woodwind Pro has the 1250 beat is flavor and the usability of the upper rack. Recteq takes the lead on customer service, a 6 year warranty, and a slight increase in build quality.
      If you want absolutely maximum flavor, go with the WWP. If you want one of the best built grills on the market backed by a stellar customer service team and warranty, go Recteq.

    Definitely from a durability stand point this thing is top notch. However, I didn't hear any Pro's over others in the pros and cons section.
    For sure nice looking grill that is going to last for the money but to me it lacks features. I didn't buy the less moisture intrusion into the hopper. I live right on the water and leave my pellet grill out in the damp loaded with pellets. In 3 years of ownership, zero issues. PID is the industry standard nowadays so not much pro there either like it used to be.
    Build quality is the best selling feature but not much differentfrom others on the market.
    And that top shelf headroom stinks!

    Do you need a smoke tube

    • @Heygrillhey
      @Heygrillhey  Год назад

      Yeah, if you want one. Pellet grills all perform pretty much the same when it comes to flavor except the Pro line of products from Camp Chef.
      If you needed a smoke tube in your grill before to make you happy, you’ll still need one here.

    You missed the most important point of this or the RT 700. Smokes food with consistent perfection and simplicity. Love my RT 700.

    Also the 700 and 1250 have a 6 yr warranty and Recteq's customer service is second to none.

    I hate y'all, I was just going to buy a 700 and add on the shelf and second rack until I saw this. Now I am going to have to sell a kidney for this most worthy upgrade. All joking aside, this is the review that made a difference for me. As a former Traeger Timberline owner that had to sell for a move I was hesitant about making the jump to RT, but this video sold me and sold me hard.

    The 700 does have same top temp of 700 and it also has the cast iron deflector plate. Not sure where you guys got your info from.

    2.4ghz has a better range, why this need for 5ghz?

    • @Heygrillhey
      @Heygrillhey  2 года назад +1

      We don't NEED it, it's just nice to have. More and more ISP supplied equipment is coming pre-configured to use 5ghz only. Some people don't want to go mess with their router just to get their grill to connect and built in 5ghz makes this less necessary.

    I've had that brand before, I like my Yoder YS640S the best out of all the pellet smokers I've had over the years.
