I have a friend, like myself, who has a lot of higher dollar guitars except he decided to grab a Chibson to use live. He did a couple of mods and nobody could really see the difference from the real thing. He grabbed it because it turned out to be a killer quality guitar that he could abuse or use in bars and clubs and not worry about it being a $5,000 Gibson. Instead it was a $480 Chibson loaded with Gibson guts and parts. This may be the only reason why I would get one of these kind of guitars.
Well, they do not come loaded with Gibson guts and parts. You are going to have to buy those which takes the 480 up to a grand by the time you are finished.

got my Chibson on Alibaba...... it took FOREVER to arrive but once it got here - damn good guitar....... set up to play right out of the box.

@@franksmeets3408personally, I’d wish the sellers would leave the logos off ans ship the guitars as they are. Personally I like chibson’s because it’s access to guitars that most people need X amount of thousands of dollars to buy just one. Buying an Ace Frehley Les Paul custom is almost impossible without spending thousands, even for his Epiphone models. So for me, it’s access to styles of guitars that are otherwise unaffordable. I never try to pass the guitars as real and frankly don’t care. I just want a sunburst, three pickup Les Paul custom without selling my house.

Mine was shipped 3 days after the transaction. I got a notification today that it reached ISC Los Angeles yesterday, from Shanghai. The seller was very responsive, responded within 24 hours on every message. I can't vouge for the guitar or quality yet 🤞 but the seller was very easy to deal with on Aliexpress. I did everything you suggest... communicate with seller before purchase to test their responsiveness, checked other buyers reviews of the seller (all were positive), checked reviews of the products the seller had already sold, etc...

The seller that I got mine from sent pics of the actual woods they use and I picked which ones I wanted them to use. I requested the finish be nitro. I gutted the guitar, installed Seymour Duncan 59 PAF pickups, PIO bumblebee caps and quality pots and plug and switch, GOTOH tuners. Plays great, looks fantastic. My Gibson 2009 R9 VOS Murphy stays in its case. Haters are gonna hate. I gladly spent less than $1,000 for a guitar that is fantastic. Gibson priced themselves out of the market. Thats what a nearly insolvent company does that is ran by complete business MORONS.

I just received my first Chibson, a Greeny from AliExpress that arrived in less than 4 weeks in a styrofoam secure package entombed with yellow tape and it will need setting up but for the money it was more than I could have hoped for. Even the relic job was great, not exact especially on the back but it wasn't supposed to be identical, just an approximation/tribute. Totally satisfied. I noticed the bridge pickup may be somewhat microphonic but the neck seemed more legit. I plan to replace so no deterrent.

I received a copy of the EVH frankie from Ali express due to watching Fulton street beats and to be perfectly honest ive no complaints at all it plays well enough and now ive just ordered the cracked mirror paul stanley ps10 being a huge kiss fan and thats something ive always dreamed of owning same as the black ps10 my next chibson is the jimmy page les paul

When companies like Gibson, Fender and (wash my mouth out) PRS complain about "foreign rip offs" I couldn't care less, why should I? I'm left handed and they couldn't care less about me. If I wanted a PRS Silver sky my only option is a "rip off" how can you attack a company or individual for copying something that doesn't exist? I have a couple of Custom 24s, I had to buy used ones as PRS currently only offers Amercan made lefties in their $13k+ private stock range. I'm thinking of decorating my man cave with signature Chinese guitars, they only need to look the part, playability won't be an issue

i had jacey guitar shop on ali make me the all gold les paul custom with black plastics. they also did a silverburst lp custom for me. both have fret nibs bridge pins and a perfect neck profile. a little fret work a new nut and i also put gibson pickups in.. wow great guitars!

I went with that shop 5 with the slightly above average review score, I did have to wait two months to get a standard cherry burst LP, but they did have good communication, I would buy one from ebay next time,too long of a wait,even though I was happy I only paid $220 delivered,I feel it's worth it to pay extra, to not have to wait that long.
First thing I do is check his feedback. Good advice. This guy has 66.7%.......RUN!
I agree with you @FULTON STREET BEATS always do your research first care fully guys BTW i found some on ETSY as well but at a much higher price the reason i know this is because i bought a Chibson Jimmy Page Les Paul from a seller on ETSY and it's wicked the quality of this guitar i got really surprised me out of box fully setup & tuned with no damage came in mint condition by DHL and the sound quality of this guitar is amazing very similar sound to a real GIbson Les Paul Custom that i have.

A lot of people that are buying the Frankie guitars they're saying hook up the neck pickup and I've seen a couple reviews were they did and it sounds pretty amazing

Mike, I ordered a tbird bass from rhxflame store.....Horrible experience!!! And wouldn't you know I ordered it a day before I saw this video. I ordered 09/03/23 with a estimated delivery day of 10/25/23. Well it did not come, I put in for a refund and all of a sudden I heard from them. Well I finally got the bass and what a mess it is/was. machine heads on crooked plastic nut with 1/4 inch grooves in it dime sized pots with horrible soldering job. I ordered the parts to fix the problem. The machine heads were for the bass side but this guitar uses treble side heads because of the reverse curve in the headstock. Wish Ihad seen this video earlier. Keep making the vids.I really enjoy them.

Also, regarding the Jimmy Page Les Paul you were looking at, I believe the guitar they show in the picture is an actual Gibson R9 not a replica. There is no actual difference in the bridge posts, both Jimmy's #1 in the glass case, and the other guitar pictured have vintage abr-1 style bridge posts, they screw directly into the body, not into a threaded bushing like Nashville bridges do.
What you are seeing on Jimmy's guitar is a 2nd thumbwheel that was added to help prevent post lean, which is common with these abr-1 posts. Some say it also helps with tone/sustain, but I don't know about all that.
That also appears to be a real Gibson Custom Shop case the guitar is leaning on, and it appears the seller blurred out the brass Gibson Logo.

I took a punt on a Chibson les Paul gold top. Apart from rewiring the electric’s and pots pus fret dressing and set up which cost about £120.00 It was a pretty good guitar . Good thing About this was it forced me to buy the real thing . Selling was a pain .
Between you and Guitar Max, you guys have really changed my opinion of budget guitars bigly. I actually found a chibson from an ebay seller that I'm watching, solely for it being a Tony Iommi style SG with the cross inlays. I'm kind of excited to try out a few of these guitars and see how they go.

Hey, love the content, I own two chibsons and they are so so good, quality wise they knocked it out the park. They look good and play great and cost me less than half one would cost if I went genuine.
Everything depends on the builder of the Chibson. Ifound a very credible builder who has built me a Chibson, Les Paul Supreme. It is great, and less than 1- 10th the price of the real thing. I own no less than 5 well built Chinese guitars. I have told them that they should change the logo to Chibson, as enough people are interested in these cheaper guitars, and end the controversy.
Personally I would love chibson branded guitars.
I was looking at the Ali Express guitars and after having watched the unboxing of the custom Randy Rhoads I thought I would inquire about a custom build but had difficulty trying to navigate where and how to message the sellers.
I know this is apples to pumpkins. But I used to order traditional arrows from China. They consistently could handle a 50# bow. Very well made, no way I could made them for the $.
I wish there was a way for me to share some pictures of my chibsons. I have to say that I actually like them just as much, if not more than my Gibsons
There is a good group on facebook called chinese replica guitar fan group. You can't post anything for sale, but it's a good way to show what you have
My uncle recently got burned on an ace frehley blue sparkle. I told him to go to the seller in your link. He decided to go with a guy in New Jersey. The guitar has so many flaws. Currently ordering from the seller you got yours from.

Interesting video bud. Reference that Les Paul that was photos from the custom shop and Jimmy Pages Number 1 definately not what the finished product will look like
No doubt good chinese marketing. Show the real deal in the glass case and then another bait n switch with another photo of the actual Gibson Custom shop reissue of the actual 59 in the case. Neither guitar pictured is going to be the POS they will actually send out. This guys video is the lamest shit! I was like watching a train wreck! What a lame! Part of the problem with materialistic folks having to sport a logo to be cool. There are some great inexpensive guitars that dont try to cop on a name brand and are not a crapshoot. This guy is like sporting a huge boner over a bunch of shit. I want my half hour back!

I have two, 58 jimmy page #2 is amazing and a resonator from Aiersi also very nice! My LP copy is better than some Gibsons I have owned/played

I'm excited to get an esp from ALI ... And make it my own, starting with removing the ESP logo and branding it my own. ... Wish I didn't have to, seeing as I've always wanted an ESP, but I can't afford one ... But yea 🤟🤟🤟
I've only just stumbled onto the "knock-off" realm and considered it. My first dipping of the toe is with the Ace Les Paul from the same seller you had purchased from. I did just get a tracking number, but it's still a few weeks off according to the expected delivery date. That's fine. I'm scared, though, because I think this realm of guitars is going to be a rabbit hole that a jump head first into and i seriously do not have the room for it. We'll see what happens.
Who's the seller?
If you buy a hard shell case with it, do they ship it inside the case? If so, do you think it’s more at risk for damage? I understand hard shell cases are made for travel, but I’d like to think a full styrofoam surrounding wouldn’t allow the guitar to move around at all in shipping and thus be safer for shipping?
Both ways are good. Usually when they ship in the case. The case is still encased in the foam.

So, what was the end result with the Goldtop? Is the seller honoring the return/ replacing? Sorry, I haven't read or seen all the info regarding it.
They replaced it, but they tried to run first.
This may have been mentioned already. I had reached out to one of the Chibson companies to inquire about an Ernie Ball Music Man EVH copy and they sent me the actual photos of the guitar they were selling. It differed quite a bit from the one that they used to list the item with. It was not as good as the listing photos. Sorry if this has been covered.
My advice is ask for product photos as unfortunately the listings u chose had pictures of genuine gibsons etc, so ask for headstock photos and product photos from the factory, they take a few days to respond but if they show u a picture from factory you can trust them, if not look else where, ive bought many reps and know whats true and whats not, theirs also way better randy models than the one you chose with better headstocks and accurate pins
I haven't given the details of my conversations as to exactly what I wanted. That will be the surprise. To show exactly what they did custom, and if they did it as I asked. You are correct pictures are a must to ask for. Thanks for pointing that out. The Randy Rhoads model is getting made now. I have received my 1st pictures of the very early stages. It's mine because they showed the serial number I requested. So that's a good sign. However, I didn't go with the seller in the video for that guitar. I tried ordering 2 different guitars. Both sellers said they were In stock. Turns in they are made to order. First one took 6 weeks to ship and got a refund. Second one took 2 months. And of course they don’t answer any messages after you pay.
chibson les paul or iyv green les paul? which is better ?
Are the bridge and stop bar measurements the same as a regular Gibson, allowing you to upgrade the hardware?
On most, the bridge post studs are bigger. However, there are adapters. I did thus on my replica Angus SG. You also can request them with a ABR1 bridge. The Tailpiece studs are usually the same.

My main gripe with SG copies is that they skimp on the body bevels. Instead of the nice sleek, thin edge as you find on a Gibson SG they usually have a square edge which is a no deal for me.

Hello! I have 6 Chipson LPs from a certain seller group and was blown away at how good they are, if you don’t mind using them as a modding platform. A little fretwork, new tuners and pickups needed sometimes, also have replaced some nuts with bone. I will continue to buy them!
In the case of polaris4music they quit doing customs for a while to catch on orders. They’re talking about opening it back up soon. I have a James Hetfield Matte purple les Paul from them it’s such a good guitar. The model they is great the riffraff comes from the people that don’t want to change easy things or want to change the build entirely (i.e neck, body material, fretboard etc..)

Ebay usually has a few Randy Rhoads replicas and is usually the safest. That's where I purchased mine.

All those sites for the most part use stolen photos, stay away from Jugg guitar, absolutely shit!
You need to ask for photos of your guitar being built, the whole process, from start to finish, if you’re not happy, reject the guitar before shipping

Eddie Van Halen removed both tone-control potentiometers, wiring the pickups in a simple circuit largely due to his limited knowledge of electronics. He placed a knob marked "Tone" on the volume-control pot, then used a vinyl record that he'd shaped into a pickguard to cover the controls. This pickguard was later replaced by a real, similarly shaped pickguard. Although it has five mounting holes (one drilled by Van Halen), it was installed with only three screws. A strip of double-sided masking tape was added near the pickguard, on which Van Halen placed a variety of picks. The simple circuit consisted of a single humbucking pick-up, an A500k potentiometer (the volume control) and a 1/4-inch output jack

No issues with a case. Just sticking within the channel budget.
Messaging someone is a great idea for any online guitar/amp shopping. If I message someone on Reverb and they don’t reply or reply in a suspicious manner, I’ll never buy. Even if the item is legit how is this person going to be to deal with if a problem arises. Just not worth the grief.
