  • As an appliance repair technician the #1 question I get asked is what is the best brands of appliance you should buy or more specific to this case, what is the best front load washer. This video should help answer your questions as I present to you two different washing machines and lets just say one is a lot better than the other.
Doing laundry without a washing machine can be tough. Thankfully our channel has lots of videos to help you get your appliance back up and running. We will be uploading videos on multiple brands for LG, Samsung, Whirlpool, Maytag, GE, and Beko. We also cover topics on washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, ranges, and microwaves. Be sure to check us out.
Disclaimer: this video is for informational and entertainment purposes only. As a service technician these are my opinions and my opinions only. They do not represent the opinions of my service company, the manufacturer's themselves, or independent testing and reviewing agencies. No scientific tests were conducted to form my opinions.

You can't beat a Speed Queen. Maytag isn't the same since Whirlpool bought them

Personally I’d go with Speed Queen! For a number of reasons. At one point in time Maytag use to build good machines that would last for decades. Long before Whirlpool bought them out .yes you’ll pay more for a SQ but over time it pay for it self in the long run. Most Laundromats are Speed Queen Equipped. The ones My area are SQ Equipped. For good reason

I have the Myatag, it's absolutely fantastic. It replaced a SQ toploading set before it. Got these for less than half the price of those speed queens, and they are much quieter. Love my Maytags!

@@ThiokuSebastian I have the MHW8630HC, it’s the top of the lime front load model for Maytag and I love it. The 8630 is generally only available from more high end appliance retailers, sometimes mom n pop shops but not big box stores like Home Depot.
If you have a hard time finding the 8630 you can go for the MHW6630HC, it’s basically the same machine with just a few less options, but costs a bit less and is easier to obtain. Either way, they’re both fantastic machines!
Good luck with whatever you pick! :D

Whirlpool used to make a good front load, not anymore. Those new Maytags aren’t all that great. The only domestic brand front load I’d buy nowadays are the LGs

I prefer the heavy mechanical construction of the SQ...especially the tub suspension system. It's basically a commercial washer.

I have been on many ships that have speed, queens, here’s a few points
1 the vibration has never killed Queen but has killed quite a few Maytag and whirlpool
2 you can throw literally anything into the queen and they don’t care. I have wrenches bolts in peoples pockets.
3 they have some sort of magic juju that makes it so those things will never go unbalanced while loaded

Just bought a TR 5 Speed Queen washer and DR 5 drier. Yes sir they were MPR costly. But the 5 year warranty and build quality won me over. Plus if we had went top of the line GE or other the cost was not that far apart. Good video

A good laundry setup would be a speed queen top load and then just a basic whirlpool dryer. I don’t see any need to buy the matching dryer because the whirlpool dryer is reliable and has been designed the same way for decades.

I love how you politically use the word "slightly" better built that's putting it mildly. There is a huge difference in built quality between the two one uses heavy plastic, the other uses heavy metal. Lol.
If you love options and jingles, get the Maytag, if you just want a machine that's going to last and get your wash done with minimal fuss get the speed queen.
For me the speed queen, hands-down.

@One-Day-After-Another 100% agree there. The heater and recirc are two super important features for a front loader, and IMO it really makes the Maytag worth it

something just occurred to me... I'm very surprised Speed Queen did not make a drain pump door like some of the others do... I understand why some of the other companies don't but SQ not having one kind of shocks me

Will you please do a tutorial on how to drain the SQ? The SQ tub is tilted down and back for proper drainage unlike all the other machines. I know that it can be drained if wanted as well by removing the front panel and that’s where I get lost. I’ve had them All SQ is the best. The rest are made of poor quality materials (plastic) and need to be replaced every 5 years taken care of diligently and properly. They are made purposefully that way. Just my opinion. Thank you for your review.

Speed Queen stands behind their product. Depending on model, they have 3, 5 or 7 year bumper to bumper coverage. Maytag has a 5 year limited warranty.

    • @DylBuilder1
      @DylBuilder1 3 месяца назад +2

From my experience SQ’s warranty isn’t that great.. on both of my machines they sent someone out once a month to install one part to try and fix it, which left me without a working washer for almost 5 months at a time
The “warranty” is also just a 3rd party insurance policy SQ uses. So they have to inquire to pay for parts and such, which slows down the process. It’s really the same as just buying the warranty package at extra cost for a different brand because SQ just adds to the price of their machines to pay for the warranty.

@@DylBuilder1 100% agree. I had a top-load Speed Queen (the original one) with a seven-year warranty. On year 8 it rusted out and leaked water all over my floors. My husband took it out, took it apart to fix it and it was very rusted. The knob to turn for the cycles wore out too. I got overcharged for the replacement knob and the three trips the appliance repair person took ($325). I will never buy a speed queen in my life. A 3.2-foot capacity drum is horrible for families. Overpriced crap. I'm very happy with my LG top load washer that I got for $550.

@@apAvocado Yikes! Yeah, They don't make them like they used to. The tiny 3.2 is miserable to work with when you have mounds of laundry!

speed queen is by far greater unit... the others are junk... you see the less computer junk the better... look at the old washers never or very little problems... there is no magic here all the washer will do is move your fabric around in soap and water get it... all the computer sensors fail and then it cost tons of money to repair... everything breaks okay... but it much worst with all that computer junk ... and worst only a little bit of water too... people hate that... speed queen adds lots of water on the top loaders...
