I just bought the TC500 a month ago when my LG front loader quit working after only 5 years.
I wanted an old school washer like this and my parents have speed queen and they are very happy with the product. I am very happy to have bought the machine and proud to support an American company in Wisconsin with American workers that can still build me an old school machine.👍🇺🇸🇺🇸.
SAME, we love our SQ
As a SpeedQueen TR5 washer owner, we are 100% satisfied. Wish you would advertise SpeedQueen more. Honestly one of the best purchases we’ve ever made.
you still feel the same about your TR5 model? so many bad reviews that say it doesnt clean clothes, and is a waste of the $$$$, anything is better than the whirlpool that our new house came with that sucks. but i would prefer not to have another issue with a washer, looking at either the TR5 or the TC5. thanks
tc5@@toni9350
I've only seen good reviews, and alot of people say it cleans clothes the best@@toni9350
I bought my mom the TR5 6 months ago. I bought a TC5 for my home today. It has the government compliance eco mode (I wont use that setting) that's it. No huge computer board like the TR7. Just a few knobs and I'm good.
You mean tc5 not tr5 there no model tr5 @ distric5198
Just took delivery today of the TC5 and I'm thrilled. it sounds EXACTLY like the Maytag my parents bought in 1964...and which lasted for 40 years. The minute it started agitating that solid thrumming, well-built sound took me back to my childhood. We dumped a GE top load washer that was less than 3 years old that embodied everything bad about today's high efficiency "washers": Insufficient water fill, lazy agitation, electronic control board that throws error codes like confetti and seems to have a mind of its own modifying the cycle as it goes. Not to mention it sounds like someone's strangling a goose when it's running. It's already needed 3 service calls. Above all, it seems fragile, NOT heavy duty. Good riddance...totally incompetent design.
Good. I hate modern pc boards and all that silly garbage that people think they got to have..I cant stand cheap Chinese junk and any cheap lousy stuff. I cant stand electronic gizmos that are hard to understand.
can i wash a king size comforter in this?
I just bought a maytag today at Lowes I'm getting the call on Friday for delivery times...I'm canceling I'm buying this speed queen
@@calixxlivin we have a Maytag piece of junk bought at Lowe’s 2 years ago, have a GE on order from Home Depot and I’m canceling that first thing!
@@calixxlivin Hi !!! May I please ask, did you purchase the Speed Queen TC5003WN and do you like it ?
I have a 2017 model....no problems and old school which makes it so much easier for my elderly mother to use.
Yes, my front load 4.5 cubic foot washer take about 1 hour and 40 minutes per cycle. True, clothes are fairly well wrung out of water but this Speed Queen can get my washing day done in a half a day vs a day and one half with front loaders.
Thanks to Speed Queen for offering applicances made for people with common sense who don't need all the B.S.
Preach! ❤
Clothes are really dry when they come out of the speed queen. You won't have to dry them twice like u do with, most washers
This month i bought a used 2017 Speed Queen washer.. it washes great and tested no issue at all.
Finally. A REAL washing machine still exists. I hope SpeedQueen never go out of business or gets bought out. My recent Maytag lasted 4 years. My first maytag lasted 20 years. Shame on American companies for outsourcing their brand and thereby damaging their reputation. Rest in peace Maytag. PS: this guy did a great review. He should start his own youtube channel.
The crappy Maytags and Whirlpools are not shamefully "outsourced". Almost all of them are American made. They're just full of cheap plastic tubs and other crappy engineering to keep the price down so that the average poor customer can by one with their average crappy wages.
I bought one in Oct ‘24 to replace a 28 year old Kenmore model 70. I have been much pleased with the Speed Queen. One thing to know about the ECO fill setting( and I do use it a lot) if you have it set to HOT/WARM water, it will fill to a certain level with COLD only and THEN it will fill some more with the HOT water. I find it useful for non dirt or grease stained clothes and washing brand new before wearing. The eco fill setting will do a wash in about 27 minutes. I have not done the lid switch bypass…yet.
Love our TR5, it's 9yrs old, will be moving this summer, taking it with us
Im sold ..im getting this set this wrekend!! 🎉
Omg...I'm in love. Lol. When my 2003 Kenmore ( whirlpool) finally dies this will be it for me. IDC how much it cost.
I've had my TC5 since September 2021 and I absolutely love it. The only thing I wish it had is a water level selector. Other than that, great machine!
I just purchased a TC5003WN today and can't wait !! Unfortunately the appliance dealer I purchased from is out of stock and waiting for a shipment. I called Speed Queen and they advised Top Loaders were running 2-3 weeks behind, so it will be here soon. My other washer/dryer were Magic Chef and they have lasted 19years, but now the washer has a loud noise on spin. So I decided to go for the best !!
Have you checked the dB level? As a fellow guitar/bass guy I assume you have a meter laying around- next to your amp.
@@MOAB-UT it's funny you ask that. I took decibel levels of my old GE just so I can see how much louder or quieter the speed Queen was. Certain aspects of the Speed Queen are louder of course, but the final spin is actually quieter than my GE. I only took decibel levels of the heavy duty cycle about a week after I bought it.
Regular agitation:
Avg: 60
Max:65
Spin: 56
The POS Whirlpool that I replaced had exactly the same water options as the TC5. The advent of a selector would have been nice, but I knew I wouldn't have one going into this deal. I'm guessing the only way a newer top load washer can have a "deep fill option", is if they eliminate the selector? 🤷🏻♂️
My Whirlpool was only 4 years old. POS! 😞 I spent $250 trying to fix a $450 washer before I finally just cut bait & bought a SQ.
My older model top load Speed Queen DOES have a water level selector. >>My understanding was that removing the manual water level selector was a "government" requirement thing to save energy & prevent waste...like we are all too stupid to decide what water level we need on our own washer. 🙄 Glad I bought the last model Speed Queen made before they changed that. 👍
I just purchased this washer and matching dryer. Did my research and also have past experience with this brand. I expect to be totally satisfied with my purchase. Appreciate the review!
No other consumer washer is even in the same galaxy as Speed Queen. In the consumer washing machine world, there are two tiers: Speed Queen is all alone in the top tier, and every single other manufacturer is lumped together in the bottom tier, since it is all the same throwaway trash (although at different price points of throwaway trash). You could probably drop a Speed Queen from orbit, and it would still blast every molecule of tar out of a tar-soaked garment in 30 minutes. Truly amazing machine.
Just got mine. Paid the extra money. But it’s worth it. ❤️. Love it 😍
Just purchased one today and can't wait to have it delivered
@@richardsmith4187 you are going to love it
@@griselleisara3799 Can't wait to get it !!
Will it fit a king size comforter?
@@TacklingTheGiants I have a king duvet. But not a comforter. Barely fits.
Never have liked front load washers. Had an old top load GE washer that lasted me 28 yrs. Next got a top load Maytag that only lasted 5 yrs & gave me nothing but trouble. So next we got a top load Speed Queen washer/dryer set in 2017 & have not had 1 bit of trouble. Counting on it outlasting every other washer/ dryer I've ever owned. 😁👍
Can I put a king comfort in it?
So sad that he repeats, "Built like they used to" or "what you're used to". In other words, built like a strong, simple, solid machine that isn't a pain in the ***. But he's not joking. These machines are the real deal.
I have the newest revised TR7 and matching dryer , I’m a neat freak , the Speed Queen TR7 top loader is amazing !!!!
Definitely going to be my next washing machine
I will buy used if I have to to get quality. $1,300.00 is a lot of money for me. I'm sure your machine is built well and in the USA. Wish you well with your marketing.
Have a tr7 and it's a tank! Heavy use for over four years and no issues at all. I don't understand all the hate for SQ🤷♀️
Tc5 cleans better
What is the difference in the TC 5003 WN and the TC 5000 WN? I need to know I must get a washer in the next couple days
$250 over the TC5000I bought May of 2019.
Will it was a king size comforter
I have my 1989 GE Heavy Duty Washer and Dryer set I bought new. I went through both about 3 years ago and I will put them up against ANY new machines made today! Made in Louisville, KY when GE was really GE! Give me your old machines and you can buy new. 🙂🙂
That wasn't too long after the big round of layoffs at appliance park in Louisville. Back when my relatives went from wearing shirts that said GE is Me to GE was Me. Now GE is begging for workers at appliance park and can't get them.
@@Rebel9668 - well that is why GE "went down the tubes"! They had some of the best people building appliances in Louisville and treated them like dirt! We have to bring manufacturing back to the US and pay workers so they can have a middle class family! All the best to you and your family. Buy American!
Im a filthy landscaper and thinking of buying tc500 washer and gas dryer. My local saleman says he wont talk me out of any speed queen but he’s definitely pushing the tr series. Any reason I wonder? We need to replace a smelly electolyx front loader that has been ok. Still running over a decade later though but gas dryer just quit spinning.
Buy a tc5. Don't bother with the tr series
The ONLY WASHER AND DRYER TO BUY.
I want transmission load size select n temperature n timer load is there one
I will definitely purchase one
I bought my 534 just before they crapped out with the lousy TR models. If mine died today (not likely) I'd replace it with the TC5 in a heartbeat. Cost twice as much 'cause it's twice as good.
OK so this is the commercial one right? What about the TC 5 for home use? How much does the home use one cost, and is it super tough also?
The TC5003WN is marked as commercial heavy duty on the washer. They are built like a tank and Speed Queen estimates they will last over 8 loads a week and over 14,000 loads which is about 25 years. I just purchased the TC5003WN today and it was 1,299.00 which is not cheap. But for what you get and a 5 years parts and in home warranty, you know its going to last a very long time. Probably the last washer you will ever buy LOL
What 8 week expecting more , my kenmore would wash 2 day still going ,20 yrs..thinking about getting this one 🤔 hmm! At 1200 sounds not that promise
It may not have a whole lot of cycles on it, but has all that I would need.
Made in Rippon, Wisconsin (GOOD OLE U.S.A…. not that “China Pride Junk” like a Samsung for instance), it is belt-driven by a motor and transmission (just like the old ones, made out of steel and metal, not aluminum and plastic), and built to commercial standards just like the old Maytags from decades ago.
It’s $1,300.00 (which is expensive for a washing machine), but I won’t buy another one either. This one here, will outlive me, and last forever.
You want quality, that’s exactly what you pay for when you buy a Speed Queen.
-Charles-
Still using a Chinese main board lol
I get grimy on my job and the so-called HE top loader never got my clothes clean. The TC5 is the best washer on the market, well worth the price.
Does it fit a king size comforter?
Probably not….will fit a queen size though.
What a great & informative review!
Yeah, a Speed Queen TC5003WN has virtually all of the classic benefits that you'd greatly appreciate, IF you can even afford to get a Speed Queen to begin with.
I wish I would have got one know. I'm on my 3rd washer in 11 years so I would have saved money if I had bought this in the first place
Love my Speed Queen best purchase I've ever made I used to love May Tag not anymore mine only lasted 6 years. My older Maytag lasted me about 15 years. There's nothing out there that's good anymore. Speed Queen is about the best, love the no lock classic half horsepower motor. Yes it's a little expensive but in the long run it's worth your money will last 20 years or more. Love it I would recommend a Speed Queen best thing I ever did.
@@arlenejurgiewich4716 My Maytag Commercial 575 only lasted 6 years. Ten-year warranty covers only the motor, no labor, years 6-10. Transmission was failing, repairs would have cost $$$. Just ordered TC5003. Previous (gorgeous) Maytag A216 with crystal knobs lasted 35 years, would still be going but stopped making parts for it. Could control everything, unlike new models.
I bought one 8 months ago. I love mine when it gets broke in look out. 😂
We had a Speed Queen that I liked except that it didn't agitate with the lid open. It started sounding like the bearings were going out on the spin cycle, so we called our local dealer. Salesman said this was just like our old one, so we ordered it sight unseen (mistake). It is NOT just like the old one. Controls for "Deep Fill" and start / pause are digital (more chance for failure) rather than controlling them manually like the old one. There are only two settings for water level, medium and high (no low), so you can't control exactly how much water you want like the old one. You can't let it fill with the lid open so you can just leave it and come back whenever you're ready to add clothes. I will have to figure out how to have more control over length of wash because you can't just set it where you want like on the old one. We have to send away for a written manual or search for it online. Didn't even get a written receipt; had to take a picture of the receipt with the installer holding it. Also the energy rating label pulled off the paint when I tried to remove a small corner of it; will try a hairdryer to get it off; hope that works. It's probably a great washer, but I wish I had researched it first instead of believing the salesman that it was just like the old one.
Do they make any like the old one though? That would be the one I want too!
They still make the original Speed Queen Commercial machine. Doesnt have any computer or dials theyre all manual timers etc. I think its called a 2000 somethjng model. Not readily available but you can still get them.
@JLNeis Too late for me, but others might like to know how to get the old style. Do you have to have your local dealer special order it?
Great Video !!! Does anyone know how I might locate a Warranty Speed Queen Service Technician for my area ... in case I ever had an issue with this washer during the 5 year warranty? I went to the website ... and was unable to locate a Technician.
Call Speed Queen Customer service at 800 552-5475, they will answer all your questions about warranty service. Very helpful and friendly folks
Did u find a local tech? Just wondering cause someone on one of these blogs said he waited 5 months for a SQ tech and will never buy again. I am interested in purchasing, but not if they can't honor their warranty!
@@rosettebattista6121 I was unable to locate a tech in my area. I did purchase a Speed Queen Washer around Sept 2022. I purchased it from an Authorized Speed Queen Retailer ... and I purchased the Authorized Retailer's Warranty since I was unable to locate a Speed Queen Tech in my area.
The appliance store where I purchased my TC5 said if I ever need service, to call them and they'll set it up for me (that's old school service!). I'm pretty sure you can call the Alliance 800 number located under the washer lid (lower right corner) to get a service tech dispatched.
2009 we bought a kenmore front loader our cloths would stink we took a sock put it in water wringed it out found dirt still in it. What we found was the thing just rinse with dirty old water trying to save water usage. Repair guy said they are not made to clean dirty cloths they are made to wash cloths someone wears to an office get the body smell out. We get our clothes dirty he suggested a top loader speedqueen that was in 2010 never had an issue again. The only reason we bought the front loader in 09 was my old whirlpool the tub rusted out after 20 years. I saw the SQ was stainless so I expect it to last until we are dead this thing has nothing electronic in it. Cost in 2010 was $799 glad I got one back then I see now they are $1299.00
I bought my Kenmore front load in 2010 for about same price. Wondering if we have thae same machine.
I bought the TR7 and feeling like it's not cleaning my whites very well.
Use the pre soak.
Pricey but totally worth it for quality and reliability
Is the Speed Queen front loader just as good as this washer? If BOTH the TC5 and front loader were equal in price, and you had plenty of space for either, which one would you choose and why?
TOP LOADER over front loader all day long !!
It had better be. Last time I checked it was more than twice the price of the top loader. I paid $1150 for my TC5000 delivered, installed, new hoses, and including sales tax.
The store had the SQ front loader for about $2200 plus tax, delivery, installation, etc...
Failed to mention the size, cu ft. ??
3.2 cubic ft.
3.2 cubic feet but unlike other models you can only fill 70%, you can fill this one all the way to the top, so the capacity ends up being the same as bigger tubs.
I'm looking for purchase TC5 230 volt 50 HZ
What happens when the water does not stop filling.
Just the longer warranty is worth buying this. I just got one today
How loud is the TC5? we are in a condo and considering it or a TR5. I can close the door to the small washroom.
How do you like it- you got the TR7? I am considering that or the TC5- any thoughts? Is 5 too loud- does your clean good enough?
@@MOAB-UT I just got my TC5 delivered a few days ago. It is loud. But the trade off is the clean clothes my front load could never match in a million years! The TC5 is more suitable for the garage or basement laundry area. If noise is a concern for an inside laundry area I suggest the much quieter TR5, which is actually cheaper than the TC5.
@@ilovegoodsax Nah- I'll stick with the far superior TC5. We are on a 2nd floor condo. Washer is 10 feet from my bed but it does not bother me. Most days I don't even bother to close the door. I measured the dB's and my dryer is just as loud. Also, if you pay attention, it is only the loudest for
Other than the model number, what's the difference between a TC5003WN and a TC5000WN?

Maytag Commurical Your supposed to buy appliances one in life time
@@scrappychildhood6633 Never buy an LG washer. Ours has been a nightmare. Never finishes a spin, doesn't wash clothes completely all in the name of "high efficiency".
On your tc5, there is a cycle labeled Bulky sheets. IT agitates slower but still cleans everything. you can wash stuff exclusively on the Bulky/Sheets

1. Covid supply issues (ordered mine in July.) Received November. 5 year warranty. Works great. Is noisy...but I don't care. It cleans and built like a tank.
Where did you buy yours?
You can thank the US Federal Reserve for adding 41% to the money supply in 2 years for all the inflation. Your money just lost 30-40% of its value when buying a house, appliances, cars, honey at Costco….all up 30-40%

Unlike a General Electric, which often is total trash the first day you use it (I am actually not exaggerating).
But I would bypass and defeat the lid switch.
-Charles-
Pop that lid anytime
Fine if you don't have young children.
How do u bypass the lid switch? I want to see the agitation in progress, not just able to quickly open to add an item. Can u give directions or is it too complicated?
I would have considered this machine except for the fact that you can't choose the water level except for extra fill, that's a deal breaker for me.
These are designed to last like 15 to 25 years.
Speed queen wizard .
Wish I could watch this to the end but the music is so annoying It's painful to watch. No need for music.
Nothing is like before
DONT LIKE THE MUSIC FEELS IM IN A FUNERAL.
The music is distracting, fells like it's coming from somewhere else and makes it annoying just trying to listen to what he is saying. Had to stop watching, which is a shame. Would have liked to watch all the way through.
Never thought of that, until now. You're right !!
My speed queen from 2008 broke. I replaced it with tc 5. The tc5 has 2 major issues that need to be fixed. First the spin cycle produces foam that overflows the drain onto the floor. This caused by the drain pump cavitation. The motor is extremely loud (2x as loud as the old speed queen) and struggles to get the drum up to rpm on the spin cycle. Dont buy this machine.
There is a video on RUclips to correct the foaming problem, as far as the spinning problem, the first spin is slow now final spin is high speed. I don't know why they changed it. 😡
They have a lid lock now...
TC5 does NOT have a lid lock. The TR series does.
@@parkdw1 My mistake. We have a TR5, which does have a lid lock.
@@parkdw1 When u say no lid lock, does that mean I can actually leave lid open while agitating? Or does it mean u can briefly open to add an item?
@@rosettebattista6121 you can open to add items, it will stop filling or agitating.
