Whenever my kids said, "Don't judge me!". I calmly said what you said. "I don't judge, I assess." Now they call me HR Dad. I never realized the parallels between being a CIA field officer and a business human resource manager.

Totally agree with this. However one thing that should be pointed out is that the attitude of solely gathering information shouldn't be too overt. If you live with that mindset too strongly, you will project that too noticably which makes you sound like a psychotherapist. Sounding like a psychotherapist or psychiatrist in a non-therapeutic interaction tends to creep out almost anyone sooner or later.
Currently I'm reading a book by an ex-agent of the German agency for Constitution Protection (LfV Bavaria, a subagency of the BfV for Germany) who was part of an intel operation infiltrating a Russian organized crime group and recruiting a Russian, who was part of that group - to provide him information.
His approach that he presents - he was the best agent from the whole operation notably - is reframing the negative judgments in a way that the positive personality aspects of the recruit weigh more than the negative aspects. This way you might find some valid criticism or judgments in the recruit's behavior, however you still see him as a "friend" because you like him and ask the same questions / make the same empathetic statements as well but with a slightly different, a more supportive tonality which comes across as more authentic and less robot.

Nobody minds being "judged" positively. I have yet to find the person who objects to being made to feel judged as "intelligent", "virtuous", or "special".

Going down the list of military superiorities reminded me that the new strategy of the Marines are littorral superiority. Pretty freaking rad idea.

The negative connotations associated w "judgement" are artificially superimposed by the broken theology of Abraham... continuous Judgement is absolutely necessary for an individuals sustained survival.

There comes a point when there is a disagreement and you make judgements...we all make judgements everyday. There is no neutral zone..information isn't enough...why because people will close down if the conversation is getting uncomfortable...I think a CIA like Andrew is to disarm the conversation to open up the way for more info ...I'm in serious distress these days ...where I am not getting any answers to my questions....

I believe he has been trained to gain information and to influence to successfully complete his assigned mission. Dont make the mistake the goal to make someone feel better or that it's even moral.
However that's just my immediate arrogant and meaningless opinion lol.
To me I try to remember that his advice comes from the CIA and why they teach what they do.

Just start making comments about why someone's ideals are wrong and your's are right and ask them what idiot made them think that way (Religion or Politics). That's usually good for at least 50 to 100 comments on a popular channel 😉. ...I've heard.

The secret is not to verbalize in your head things that you don't like. Most of the times your face will tell a lot about what you are thinking.

I know that you're playing this game with me. Why do you think I keep giving you little scraps here and there... Because you see every little bit that I give you you accidentally give me more back... 😂 I love the information superiority game. Because the more I judge you the more you react to me. If I get angry and react you dig for more information... Are you starting to understand the game?; are you starting to understand my game? If I know that you are collecting information... Then I give you a lot of information to collect... 😂
