Hey, I am a new pool owner and am concerned about my pool not being drained below the skimmer, did I hear it right, I don’t need to drain below the skimmer? Everywhere else says to drain below the skimmer, can you please clarify why you say to “never drain your pool”? Thank you!
Yeah sure! As long as you either put a gizmo in with a bleed hole on top to where the water in the lines can come out when you blow it out. Or our method is, we blow it out, plug it while the blowing is running (you will get a little wet) and then put an empty gal jug up side down and wedge it in like I showed in the video. I hope that makes sense
Here in NYC we will drain below skimmer if you have tile. But that's about only reason I can think of to drain below...aside maybe to compensate for water accumulation through a mesh cover...
Before totally draining system with that filter, spin the tank band off, open the breather and turn the filter on, the lid will pop off no effort. you get a little wet but youll thank me later
you should absolutely not be keeping water in skimmer, even auto cover pools should be drained 1 in below skimmer and body of skimmer filled with af then a bottle floating half full of af.. Seen sooooo many skimmers crack from this.. experience comes from working on pools for 20yrs and replacing more skimmers then i can count
@@k20in321 right on. So using the method that I use in your climate, you say that you’re more prone to cracking skimmers or are the people skimmers that are getting cracked are they not servicing them correctly?
nice job
