When HoS was still a new release in 2013, I remember that marine was also firing while yelling "blast it!". Perhaps the chat bubble update is the cause of it.
Not much to control, you set them a healthy distance from the enemy and they auto-spawn the locusts. Deep-tunnel to an area not close to enemies and kill with locusts.
what he did against those thors... and at start against hellbats... its like sending zerglings through chokepoint against siege tanks and after they all die cause they simply cannot get throught you call them usless... jeez man i love you but srsly, swarm host is great, you just do not know how to use them, kinda like you are using kerrigan wrong the whole game. Anywho you at least picked the right upgrade for the host since if you got flying locusts nonAA units just ignore locusts and rekt your hosts.... they being an awesome free meatshield is half of their strength
I don't believe you when you say that you ''want to love the swarm host'' when you deep tunnel them with spawn locust on cool down into three thors and just watch them die. Swarm hosts are not close range units, stop rooting them right next to enemy fire.
Or give them the upgrade to be burrowed rather than rooted. Sure he loses the anti air, but really the only thing you'd need to watch for is Banshees or Wraiths, which aren't even that common.
If you use Span Leviathan along with Ability Efficiency, then, as long as the Leviathan doesn't die, you can have on on the map at all times; it's timed life is equal to it's cooldown.
it's an other type of spawning pool than his, it would probably not develop too well.. just like Kerrigan changed alot from being in the spawning pool on Zerus
I feel like if he imagined the Swarm Hosts as less damaging Siege Tanks, he'd understand how important it is to NOT have them close up, and rather more in the back dealing poke damage to the enemy.
What if Lowko is Izsha? Think about it, both habe no legs, an attribute everyone makes fun of (big forehead/no nose) and both constantly tell you information you either already know or don't care about. Just saying
If you think about it, Izsha`s face does kinda look like it has two foreheads. So she still only has half the Forehead area of our boi Lowko, but at least she tries.
I'm hoping he replays NCO as well so people can point out things like what you see if you orbital scan in the top right corner on mission 2 or replaying mission 4 with the bugs fixed.
I think the premise for Kerrigan not getting shot down is because she's this uber psychic powerful chick who could shield the drop pod coming down. ;) Great video Lowko, i love the upbeat attitude you always have.
Well Izshas nose was already missing before Dehaka joined the zerg club. But who could have stolen it then? Well, who do we know who also wants essence and is constantly on the leviathan...? Abathur... What have you done.
29:30 is one of those moments where you see that burrow in the campaign is way to valuable due to the fact they are weak and expansive. Burrow is really the creeper swarm hosts' main defense as they remain undetected by most of the units (especially in the campaign) and as long as there is one swarm host, any future one that you make can instantly burrow, deep tunnel to his friends' location and reinforce the current mass and you know what they say, the more the merrier.
Can we all admit that even after Kerrigan gathered entire zerg population in the sector and concentrated it entirely on Korhal - that one world can still defend itself quite well?
Kinda reminds me of cadia from Warhammer 40k. It took the combined strength to the demons and one of there followers dropping a moon sized space station to shatter the planet.
Hey Lowko theres an Easter egg in the Ultra's evolution mission: If you are doing the 2nd one ( purple) find a car you can destroy and there will be a funny line from a marine
Tucker Williams agreed! i was also really happy with his choice its just so much fun to rain down on the terran parade (which is why zagara is my favourite coop campion)
Can Bolat leviathan can solo the whil mission with the virophages, untill the last bases, which you need kerri she just has to destroy one missile turret for the leviathan kill the entire bases on hard dunno about brutal, kerri plus the leviathan and kenetic blast with the ability efficiency is great
You can click on stukov, dahaka, abathur and others even when they don't have name written over them just like you clicked on Kerrigan. They always say something different depending on where you are at.
After the 5th launcher is deployed, there's usually a short cutscene and then you are back in the mission with the objective to destroy the base in the top right. This is the first time I've seen it where the mission just ends after the 5th launcher is up since you had destroyed it already :) nice stuff!
These swarmhosts look pretty good if you want to do a 'no units lost' run for its ability to spawn units and to let you kite back so easily. Its like a long distance blink for broodlords if you think about it.
A strategy for example could be swarm host with those spawner roaches, you have the locusts tank for your roaches then the roaches land hits n baby roaches come out for free n tank for the roaches as they close in further.
i wanna say the corruptor is my least favorite unit because of how simple and boring the unit is, while id have to say the baneling is my favorite just for those special moments in ZvZ where two or so banes take out their entire ling force and you auto win
Lowko, first of all, I love your videos and your attitude, i hardly miss any of your vids. I have a suggestion for your swarmhosts: try to use their burrow mutation so they shouldn't be slaughtered by 3 Thors :)
The leviathan is just too cool Lowko ! And his live is timed to 300, so you can have a leviathan alive all the time if it don’t die (It’s easy to keep big units alive with the healing spell).
I almost never used swarm host in my 1st two playthroughs of HotS, however, going back I tried different compositions just for fun and found swarm host to be very deadly in mass (with queens nearby for healing and protection from air ambush), especially carrion strain with flying locusts. The ideal is a large investment in both resource and supply at 1st, the payback being free kills over and over if you can keep the host alive.
As long as you have a swarm host with your army, you can always burrow it to spawn creep (like a mobile creep tumor) , and deep tunnel other swarm hosts to that location.
Lowko theres a Easter Egg in The Ultralisk Evolution mission..... In the 2nd strain or the purple strain's experiment/test there will be a car you can destroy. If you destroy it then you will have a funny dialogue from the car's owner. Tip: The car looks like a Optimus Prime color or like a hot wheels car.
the creeper strain works well with the creep upgrade this allows them more area to deep tunnel as it increases creep radius but creep will also give a significant regen upgrade turning the swarm host into a powerful slow push support
Loco should get the automated extractor. You can end up with 8+ gas on this map and the worker it takes to effectively mine from all those is too high. And just mass whatever you like because gas is 1:1 to minerals.
My favorite unit is the Swarm Host (I like a really strong defense), my least favorite would probably be the Hydralisk, mainly because it's just boring to me (I like stuff that spawns more stuff)
you should use the new swarm host as static defence, when one bile launcher is under attack you should burrow to it, when another is burrow to that, it demonstrates in the tutorial how they are meant to be used, to defend things that are out of position normally, with a active swarm host army you can attack and then when you need to defend burrow backwards
The thing is the Swarm Host is a pure defense unit. Mass Swarmhost doesn't function, in the same way mass Siegetank won't. They are good if the enemy run into them. Not like you use them Lowko where you tunnel them into the enemy. The best way to use them in this mission would be to build up a little bit of static defense everywhere and when it is attacked tunnel the hosts behind it.
@LowkoTV The swarmhosts are such a good unit for the last mission against all those elite units that attack in various locations. Plus, extremely cost effective to siege the heavily defended areas. Just food for thought! Also, if using the creeper swarmhosts, having Malignant creep as a Kerrigan perk works awesome.
If izsha is a leviatan , it means that izsha is connected with this spawning pool as well, so she can change and evolve at any time, or that means that she is immune to spawning pool efects because she is one.
The SwarmHost are HUGE for creep-spread. If you use them in conjunction with the creep-tumors I think you can actually creep-up the entire map in no-time and you only need 3 or 4 of them, because you can use their creep-spread and deploy the creep tumors almost instantly all over the map. Then, you can even teleport the hosts anywhere. And you get the vision. And all the creep advantages. So, they do have this great strenght.
If you liked the mission in space, where you controlled the Hyperion, there is a cool arcade map you might like as well. It's called Warships and in it, you and 2 of your teammates build choose and arm your own big ships with various properties. Then you battle against another team of 3. Try it out!
19:13 it does seem a little bit annoying how Kerrigan is in every single mission even after she’s all maxed out. It doesn’t make sense that she’s down there amidst all that confusion up in orbit. She could have gotten shot down like you said.
Creeper swarm host with burrow in combination with pocky bois and shooty bois are a pretty good defensive unit, specially in maps where enemies push on your base from multiple fronts, but burrow is pretty much essential because they don't have a lot of HP.
creeper swarm host with burrow are very good delaying unit: if you are attacked somewhere you haven't planned and need to delay the attack, a it, warp 4-5 creeper there and they will keep create distraction while staying undetected
Lowko loves two things : playing with a very mobile zerg army and not having to manage activated abilities. Swarm hosts are the exact opposite of these preferences, there is no scenario where he falls in love with them, especially considering what they cost. That being said, I'm not sure that burrowing them under ennemy fire and not evading damage by tunneling away was the best way to "give them a fair chance". ;)
my favorite unit is the Broodlord because when you have only a few broodlords and manage to get them into the opponents base, you are in a Good position.
you can also use them together with some infestors. the infestors can consume locusts to eagin energy and can take out the big scary terran tanks and thors and BCs. then the hosts can clean up everything else and if you have a ton of time you get a big scary terran army with i guess infinite supply It takes time tho and doesnt make for a fun youtube video
Also, Swarm Hosts are supposed to be a kind of siege unit. You're really supposed to root them out of range of your opponent so they have to shoot the Locusts instead.
Exactly, He's not giving them a shield to give them time to spawn locusts or he does something dumb and move them face first into the enemy instead of pushing forward with a Kerrigan group and letting the locusts pop safely in the back to clean up. I cringed at the amount of times he just let his swarm hosts die to easily avoidable shit and his response was "Well Swarm Hosts suck." basically.
I cant agree more to all these answers. Swarmhosts are amazing, but Lowko is dropping them in range of the enemy. thats like sieging tanks WHILE being already fired at.
Since SH generates creep you can have one of them with your army. Then you burrow it and you can deep-tunnel all of the other swarm hosts. So you can have them deep-tunnel everywhere.
Maybe sometime before the start of HotS, Issha managed to secretly go to Zerus where Dehaka cut off her nose and she in turn cut off Dehaka's right arm. Me too, I didn't use the swarm host after it's introduction mission. It feels too sluggish to use and doesn't mix well with ling, bane, hydra, roach, ultralisk army that I use in every mission.
The tunneling swarm hosts would work really well with stealth while rooted, because they could just keep leapfrogging forward, continuously spawning units as they go, and unless the enemy has some form of detection, they could basically take on entire armies without taking a scratch, and if the enemy does have detection, they can easily burrow back behind your defenses before they take much fire. If nothing else, they'd make a great instant response group for enemy harassment.
18:35
Marine:"Zerg! Blast it!"
*Proceeds to do nothing*
This was exactly what a boss would do.
When HoS was still a new release in 2013, I remember that marine was also firing while yelling "blast it!". Perhaps the chat bubble update is the cause of it.
Marine Zerg! Blast it!
Proceeds to get shot in the face
I feel that you don't want the hosts to be decent. You walk them in enemy lines, deeptunnel empty hosts into 3 THORS
We could talk for days about our boi Lowko's derpiness.. Another such example^
My thoughts exactly as he's bitching about them.
He's just really a macro player, he's talked about how he doesn't like control intensive units.

Or give them the upgrade to be burrowed rather than rooted. Sure he loses the anti air, but really the only thing you'd need to watch for is Banshees or Wraiths, which aren't even that common.
I dont get why he wasnt even using their ability, but moving them slowly normally instead..
If you use Span Leviathan along with Ability Efficiency, then, as long as the Leviathan doesn't die, you can have on on the map at all times; it's timed life is equal to it's cooldown.
Megtheridon and leviathan has two powerful ability too. That’s my setup.
Same with drop pods
29:00 You pop the locust, then immediately deep tunnel to the front lines with no support.
Don't blame the swarm hosts.
why cant dehaka just go into the spawning pool to get his arm back?
Reminds me of one of his poke lines, "I have not evolved a new arm... why?"
Top 10 things science can't explain
Actually he had evolved a new arm, it is small but growing :)
Reşit KOÇ Deadpoolhaka
it's an other type of spawning pool than his, it would probably not develop too well.. just like Kerrigan changed alot from being in the spawning pool on Zerus
I feel like if he imagined the Swarm Hosts as less damaging Siege Tanks, he'd understand how important it is to NOT have them close up, and rather more in the back dealing poke damage to the enemy.
21:31 Those banelings
That poor Goliath.
Behold, why you pick the splitter strain for banelings.
Roly poly games 😄
They have to have some fun right?
What if Lowko is Izsha?
Think about it, both habe no legs, an attribute everyone makes fun of (big forehead/no nose) and both constantly tell you information you either already know or don't care about.
Just saying
If you think about it, Izsha`s face does kinda look like it has two foreheads.
So she still only has half the Forehead area of our boi Lowko, but at least she tries.
HAHAHA
its true
What if you are izsha?
He's quite rather tall actually. Saw him on Winter's channel. o.o ♥
We are looking forward for the Protoss Campaign :)
Will definitely watch entire Protoss campaign
I'm hoping he replays NCO as well so people can point out things like what you see if you orbital scan in the top right corner on mission 2 or replaying mission 4 with the bugs fixed.
Me to
I think the premise for Kerrigan not getting shot down is because she's this uber psychic powerful chick who could shield the drop pod coming down. ;) Great video Lowko, i love the upbeat attitude you always have.
THE SATELLITE FROM THE ORIGINAL STARCRAFT
I thought nobody else noticed that!
MULTIPLAYER!
Yeah
I was thinking that
Well Izshas nose was already missing before Dehaka joined the zerg club. But who could have stolen it then? Well, who do we know who also wants essence and is constantly on the leviathan...?
Abathur... What have you done.
Abathur has a vageena for a mouth, I dont think he needs a nose.
You don't know how noses taste; maybe they're a delicious snack!
they're aphrodisiacs!
@@WoWFtw8 And you only could guess where did put on that nose to
You should click on characters even when they don't have new conversation floating above their head because they still say stuff
18:37 This one marine was like "naah"
THE MOlTEN SALAMANDER HAS RESURFACED! If the commanders are going to do something, now might just be the time.
THIS JUST IN! DOMINION FORCES KILLING AN ENDANGERED MOLTEN SALLY! THIS MAKES YOU WONDER, WHO IS THE REAL FIRE BREATHING MONSTER???
donny is the true fire breathing monster.
Just saying, you missed abathur before starting the mission
oh no :((((

Hey Lowko theres an Easter egg in the Ultra's evolution mission: If you are doing the 2nd one ( purple) find a car you can destroy and there will be a funny line from a marine
Xergio Jose Barriga and in the toss campaign there is the same marine
hey lowko! i suggest that since you have creeper strain hosts, go get them burrow and malignant creep for that sweet attack speed buff
I mean if you make them spawn right on top of the enemy , while visible, with the attack on cooldown is it really giving them a fair try ?
Drop pods is my personal favorite. Good choice, Lowko!
Tucker Williams agreed! i was also really happy with his choice its just so much fun to rain down on the terran parade (which is why zagara is my favourite coop campion)
Can Bolat leviathan can solo the whil mission with the virophages, untill the last bases, which you need kerri
she just has to destroy one missile turret for the leviathan kill the entire bases on hard
dunno about brutal, kerri plus the leviathan and kenetic blast with the ability efficiency is great
I love lowko's evil laugh when he reads the leviathan description
Those banelings hopping around chasing the retreating goliath! lol 21:31-21:41
Lol I felt that moment at 29:50 when you say "screw it" and switch back to the tried and true after trying something gimmicky.
Lowko's first HotS playthrough: Kissy kissy Abathur!
Lowko's second HotS playthrough: Isha. Nose. Get one.

I can finally finish my HotS campaign. And those banelings 21:30 chasing that poor scared goliath is hilarious.
You can click on stukov, dahaka, abathur and others even when they don't have name written over them just like you clicked on Kerrigan. They always say something different depending on where you are at.
Like how no one is talking about the drop pod scene
Truly shows the mass of the zerg like the opening cinematic just endless amounts of flesh
Lowko: Swarm Hosts are bad!
Also Lowko: What if I used my swarm hosts to tank Thors?
21:31 and people wonder why I prefer the Splitter Strain
Change the swarm-host mutatin to "borrow" so they don't get detected
That feel when he deep tunneled his swarm hosts with no locusts ready
Lowko : I don't like swarm hosts so much
Also in Lowko's mind : I'll just tank with my hosts
Lol, love you lowko
LowkoTV The satelite in the orbit of Korhal it's an Easter egg from SC1, it's the same as the one in the main screen of the game Hope you see this
Creeper swarm host + borrow = OP static defense + creep
Poor Lowko, in his blindness he can't see the defense potential. Think Abathur can get rid of Lowko blindness?
i love how you are spinning the mouse and saying brutal has been selected when you are starting a mission.
After the 5th launcher is deployed, there's usually a short cutscene and then you are back in the mission with the objective to destroy the base in the top right. This is the first time I've seen it where the mission just ends after the 5th launcher is up since you had destroyed it already :) nice stuff!
I love the Korhal missions because they are SO DAMN EPIC!
Banelings bunnyhopping in pursuit are just way too cute.
Never enjoyed a playthrough as much as this one, good job lowko 👊
Infestors, I've never been good with micro, so I could never keep my Infestors alive and provide value.
Lowko casually deep tunnelling sieging unit to the frontlines...
i wanna say the corruptor is my least favorite unit because of how simple and boring the unit is, while id have to say the baneling is my favorite just for those special moments in ZvZ where two or so banes take out their entire ling force and you auto win
I hate dealing with brood lords
Pyr0manc3y corrupter is boring broodlords are cool
Glad you chose the creeper strain! They look much better and I actually find them much more useful.
Using swarmhosts like artillery and not like zealots should help
10:09
*Dropping the reinforcements*
Abathur: MoaRRRR swarm hostssss
Least fav: swarm hosts, but love to see them off meta played by pros
Most fav: mutalisk, cuz the variety of their use almost like risking all ins
The Relay Satelite! It's a heartwarming Easter Egg from Good old StarCraft! It was the sign of multiplayer part of the game in the Main Menu.
That "YES!" at 2:52 lol
Lowko, first of all, I love your videos and your attitude, i hardly miss any of your vids.
I have a suggestion for your swarmhosts: try to use their burrow mutation so they shouldn't be slaughtered by 3 Thors :)
The leviathan is just too cool Lowko ! And his live is timed to 300, so you can have a leviathan alive all the time if it don’t die (It’s easy to keep big units alive with the healing spell).
I wanted to tell you that I think your an awesome game caster and made want to play sc2. Thanks for the episodes.

*Do a frontal assault with a support/harass unit*
*Gets absolutely annihilated*
"This unit sux"
at 29:10 i was just like lokow please move the camera to the gate i wanna see the zerg entering the city!
The banelings are the *bane* of the Terrans.
Hehehehe.
Flying locusts are beast, flying units always kick ass, those tanks, hell bats and more cant even touch them :DD
As long as you have a swarm host with your army, you can always burrow it to spawn creep (like a mobile creep tumor) , and deep tunnel other swarm hosts to that location.
Fun drinking game: take a shot every time Lowko says “indeed” and “simply”
Lowko theres a Easter Egg in The Ultralisk Evolution mission..... In the 2nd strain or the purple strain's experiment/test there will be a car you can destroy. If you destroy it then you will have a funny dialogue from the car's owner.
Tip: The car looks like a Optimus Prime color or like a hot wheels car.
My favorite zirg unit is swarmhost.
The swarm host mutation that lets them burrow completely and requires detection is really useful for this mission.
the creeper strain works well with the creep upgrade this allows them more area to deep tunnel as it increases creep radius but creep will also give a significant regen upgrade turning the swarm host into a powerful slow push support

16:45 Well thank u very much voldemort, I MEAN you know who. -Lowkotv
I love harry potter
lowko in the upcoming ultra evoloution mission there will be a super cool car and if you destroy it youll get an easter egg
my favorite unit is the Broodlord because when you have only a few broodlords and manage to get them into the opponents base, you are in a Good position.
Doesn't utilise the range of swarmhosts, walks swarmosts straight in to the middle of battle, swarmhost die. Damn swarmhosts!
The fact that they made so many models is very helpful for making arcade maps
No offense Lowko, but Swarm hosts in the campaign are amazing, you've just been using them pretty badly.
If you give them the deep tunneling ability they become so useful for defending multiple locations quickly.
you can also use them together with some infestors. the infestors can consume locusts to eagin energy and can take out the big scary terran tanks and thors and BCs. then the hosts can clean up everything else and if you have a ton of time you get a big scary terran army with i guess infinite supply

Since SH generates creep you can have one of them with your army. Then you burrow it and you can deep-tunnel all of the other swarm hosts. So you can have them deep-tunnel everywhere.
Finds heavily fortified enemy base
"Oh hey, expansion."
Lowko you better keep feeding us with regular campaign episodes or there will be an uprising and we'll steal izsha's nose again.
34:20 is that a dead drop pod landing?
Ability Efficiency (in the second to highest tier) also works on the three ultimate abilities, allowing you to start using them sooner.

If nothing else, they'd make a great instant response group for enemy harassment.
