Picked mine up yesterday. I bought a CE Bolt on in 1991 but sold it years later. I’m blown away by the quality of this DGT SE. It sounds great too. Nothing not to like except there’s no buy one get one free sale!
I recently picked up an Iris Blue Swamp Ash Special SE and I'm planning on getting locking tuners for that too. My only complaint about the setup was the action was high like just your DGT. I wonder if that's a common thing for SEs. Mine was set higher than Willie Nelson, in fact, the saddles bottomed out before I could get the action low enough. I had to lower the whole tremolo bridge by carefully lower the knife edge screws and making sure they're level, along with adjusting the 2 screws in the back of the guitar so the bridge is level with the strings and floating. It was my 1st time so it took a few tries to get it perfect. Everything else was good though. The frets on mine were great, body looked nice (which was a relief because I waited 3 months on backorder not knowing what it would look like), perfect bird inlays, neck was perfect out of the box.
Great review and playing! Do you know what type of nut this model has? Would it benefit from the USA self-lubricating PRS nut or does this already have it? Thanks.
What was the signal path for this video? Any pedals between the guitar and amp? If this was explained somewhere, I missed it, but the lead out of the guitar is different from the one going into the amp. I didn't like the overdriven sound.
These are demo models from PRS!!! We weren't able to make any changes to them unfortunately! Though as plastic isn't magnetic, rest assured a thin piece of film will have practically no impact on the sound.
As of they're gonna strip them all down when they get to the US to check them. That'd make the exercise of putting them together in Asia pointless. Maybe back off a bit on the hard sell. Sounds like an okay guitar though.
That subtle Peter Green 'honk' sound is right up my alley. And a tremelo to boot. Love it.
I just bought this guitar and hands down one of the best gits I’ve ever had!

Thank God someone finally got this correct. Coil tap not coil split. 2 totally different things.
Technically neither...it's parralel with one coil with a resistor to ground
I've got the tobacco sunburst one and the action is really high,I've put se locking tuners on it ,but it does sound incredible, such a clean bity sound

When will you have them in stock?
Dude how you could play and demonstrate the pickup while the pickup plastic still there…

@@GuitarVillageFarnham . Zero in fact 👍
Glad PRS is getting away from the ink blots on the neck.
No locking tuners
no 09 46
no good neck joint
only 6 points trem vs 2
next !
And which guitar do you suggest on the same price range?

Not every guitar, but the PRS videos show them taking random guitars from the Asian stock for detailed inspection.
Marketing fluff. As demonstrated by some of the YT videos from people who had clunkers.
Cor-Tek built - Paul still won't say why he changed from WMIC to Cort.
Hard Pass bc human rights.
