⇢ Alison Krauss covers the Blind Faith classic “Can’t Find My Way Home” (written by Steve Winwood). Recorded for the early aughts television series Crossing Jordan. The guitar is credited to Greg Leisz. ⇢ Also, this is not an official music video. It’s a video I made ages ago comprised, as stated in the description, of random footage and photos of Alison Krauss and her fantastic band/collaborators Union Station (it’s not very good 😂😂😂). ✌🏽
Always wonderful, Alison. Gorgeous. And, btw, I was one of the lucky one who got to see only one of the twelve US stops on Blind Faith's Tour in 1969, and saw Stevie Winwood sing this live, with Eric Clapton, Rick Gretsh (on bass), and Ginger Baker in the band. Never will forget it. I was 18 years old.
This song is so wistful, so heartfelt and aching, I've thought about it, sung it silently for at least three decades. I'm so glad Steve Windwood composed it. A true classic.
Steve Winwood's song has been covered countless times, and in truth, I've never heard a really bad version. There is something universal about the feeling the melody and lyrics generate. I would wager that a lot of us have been wasted and coudn't find our ways home once or twice.
I agree that it's such a great song that you can hardly find a bad cover!😊 Obviously, it inspires the artists who have covered it. My own favorite, however, remains Ellen McIlwaine's.
Steve Winwood is a genius for coming up with this song in the first place. It is very interesting melodically, and lyrically it's sad and amusing at the same time. Alison, of course, is angelic as always.
A fabulous cover of a great Stevie Winwood song by the beautiful and multi-talented Alison Krauss and her superb band. Why did it take me so long to discover her? All those wasted years!
Every song she does, no matter what the genre, sounds fresh and vibrant. I listen to a lot of music and she is one of those artists that grabs my attention, makes me stop whatever I'm doing, and divert all my attention to her.
Hang in there Zeppolino! There is still hope for our downtrodden species. People like you and music like this proves it. I am mighty hopeful that our generation will come to its senses, jettison the materialism and consumerism and start tearing down all these walls we have built.
One of the great rock songs of all time sung by one of the great all time voices. We had the pleasure of seeing her perform live with Union Station a few years ago. I don't care what your musical preference is... this is GREAT
Alison Krauss could sing the phonebook... and it would win a Grammy. Although it's not her band behind her, the musicianship and instrumentation is near perfect for this rendition. She nails the 'ache' you feel when you're far from your home and have no clue how to get back to what made you... you. I'll be hunting down a recording of this one. Beautiful and expressive.
Dave Nemo from the Road Gang radio show WAS the first guy to give Allison airplay . I was BLOWN away by that voice and more than that ...she has such great taste in selecting songs ! Way to go Allison & THANKS DAVE NEMO!! for letting me hear her angelic voice those long & lonely nights trucking in the dark!
Home.... can't find my ways back either. Love her version... it takes a human perspective towards the lyrics and musical presentation. If Alison is singing IT, She will ALWAYS SING IT WITH FEELINGS. ♡
I remember listening to this song as a teenager and not knowing where my life would take me. Well at least I found my way... but not necessarily back home!
Brings back great memories, I was a child of the '60s, and became transformed during the 'Jesus movement.' But many of these songs still maintain a grip on my heart. This is one amazing cherished singer, she can take any song and transform it to her own unique expression! God, please let me record with her someday!
Alison did it her way... and with her wonderful voice has created her own thing.. Don't compare or contrast, just listen without all of those voices in your head.... Enjoy life
A terrific version of this great Steve Winwood/Blind Faith classic, with the always superb voice of Alison Krauss and the understated but equally always perfect guitar playing by Greg Leisz, who at 72 is still going strong.
On Dec.26th 1983 I found my way home when at the age of 24 I asked Jesus into my heart and life. At the age of 62 I'm still walking down the narrow road with Jesus that leads to life. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Jesus, not religion. Jesus will show you the way home.
"Come down off your throne and leave your body alone, somebody has to change." Greatest first line of any song ever. Can fit every kind of adiction you can think of - drugs, alcohol, food, sugar, work, sex etc.
The Hand of God reached down and touched this ladies voice. Very few can make a cover anywhere close to the original anything. This woman could sing the Phone book and make it her own.
I've been a fan of hers for years. Yet to see her live. But she proves here she can think outside the bluegrass box. And when she does, it makes me want to hear her cover so many other songs. Wow.
What a dark song, heartfelt and true. I think of this song. I hears its notes. It gives me a strange kind of comfort. I pray this, and then I get what I least expect. So home is a state of mind. It's not a lifelong promise. Take the gift when offered and never, ever, expect more. Enjoy those moments of joy.
I love this song! I had no idea she did a cover of it! I am a rocker primarily but my roots are totally grounded in Southern hillbilly kinda blues. And she is very good at it. I have sooo much respect for this woman! I am so glad Robert hooked up with her and not some empty headed beautiful 22 year old 'model' or some such.
This great old blind faith tune fits allisons range to a T, These songs and great ones like them are for musicians to play. Covering them is the best way to keep them alive and in no means a bad thing, unless you don't play them with the conviction they were written. Allison does this with that conviction perfectly...
Why is it such a big deal about doing "covers"? And whining who's better than who? I've been doing covers for years, BECAUSE I LOVE THE SONGS. And this is one of the finest covers ever. Rock on Alison! the Radman
In my teens this song gave me strength and understanding that I am not home and won't be until God is ready. As he guides my footsteps I listen for his guidance, for I have learned through my own reliance I only fall away. His mercy has lifted me as high as the mountains his grace has Instilled my soul with hope As I strive for sanctifacaton with hope that I will be found blameless in the return of our savior jesus. Amen,so shall it be. Total surrender as your love lifts up the weariness of this world we must live in peace, love and harmony with his holy spirit until the day I go home.
Though she has a beautiful voice to say the bar has been raised..well..I simply disagree. It lacks the raw emotion that Winwood desperately draws from. I will admit ..rarely do I care for covers.

Great! Thank you!
Very incredible, much more, fantastic performance, thank you for your voice. Thank you
Her and Steve should do a duet of this
Absolutely stunning voice and so is she inside and out!!!!
Fucking money kills art!
One of the FEW artist that can sing ANY song by ANYONE and do it justice.
She could sing the list of ingredients off a box of cereal and it would be great.
Better than the original in many instances!
She does, except she doesn’t look wasted, lol
Angels can sing anything
I think part of her talent is picking the right songs to do.
No woman ever takes my breath away like Alison! Her beauty, feminity, grace and unbelievable talent makes my heart sing! 100% class!
Linda Ronstadt..
bonnie
AMEN!! Straight up voice of an angel.

so memorable. so lucky!
I saw them in Seattle on that same tour... I was 19.
Our musical tastes have changed some, huh? From Blind Faith to Alison Krauss.
I like this version. Saw Blind Faith too in 1969 - London Hyde Park.
I am one of the millions who are very jealous of you
I was in Seattle, too. Delaney and Bonnie opened. Fabulous show.
She is my favorite vocalists. I now know how Angels sing. She has to be the most Beautiful woman on the planet.

Winwood is a genius period
Alison Krauss and Steve Winwood on duet is a necessity
I've never heard a version of this song I didn't like ❤
Steve Winwood is a genius, full stop. This is so typical of the style of music from his "John Barleycorn Must Die" album.
I can't stop listening to this. Magificent.
A fabulous cover of a great Stevie Winwood song by the beautiful and multi-talented Alison Krauss and her superb band. Why did it take me so long to discover her? All those wasted years!

Good God! What a rendition of the great Blind Faith song. This woman is a prodigy!
Hey Monty, your choice of prodigy is a perfect descriptive of this most gifted woman!!!!!
WOW, another magical performance by Alison and band. Don't forget the accompanying musicians because there playing creates the ambience.
One of the great rock songs of all time sung by one of the great all time voices. We had the pleasure of seeing her perform live with Union Station a few years ago. I don't care what your musical preference is... this is GREAT
I just love her. Everything about her. She and "the boys" are just flat out "something else".
I don't see how ANYONE can view this as anything other than eclipsing the original. Allison sings this with her soul on display, for all to see.
My thoughts, exactly.
Beautiful emotional song. Brings back memory's when I watched this lost in addiction described me perfectly and sung by a angel. We do recover...
This is one of the better covers I've heard of this tune. She nailed it.
Dave Nemo from the Road Gang radio show WAS the first guy to give Allison airplay . I was BLOWN away by that voice and more than that ...she has such great taste in selecting songs ! Home.... can't find my ways back either. Love her version... it takes a human perspective towards the lyrics and musical presentation. If Alison is singing IT, She will ALWAYS SING IT WITH FEELINGS. ♡
I just love Allison Kraus. Beautiful voice angelic she can sing Zepplin and gospel
i never thought Allison could touch my heart with her version of this song... but she did !!!
I remember listening to this song as a teenager and not knowing where my life would take me. Well at least I found my way... but not necessarily back home!
And everything in between
Brings back great memories, I was a child of the '60s, and became transformed during the
'Jesus movement.' But many of these songs still maintain a grip on my heart. This is one amazing cherished singer, she can take any song and transform it to her own unique expression! God, please let me record with her someday!
Is there any song she can't do and make her own--and do it beautifully?
She is such an amazing vocalist...and her fiddle playin'...!
Tracy Black How could she turn "Black Dog into a train wreck" by adding harmonies that should have been in the original?
Alison did it her way... and with her wonderful voice has created her own thing.. Don't compare or contrast, just listen without all of those voices in your head.... Enjoy life
What a songbird!! Love the bluegrass element in this cover. Sweet.
Must have enjoyed Singing hun.
A terrific version of this great Steve Winwood/Blind Faith classic, with the always superb voice of Alison Krauss and the understated but equally always perfect guitar playing by Greg Leisz, who at 72 is still going strong.
So much talent! Not only does she have the voice of an angel, she plays the violin/fiddle!
Everything she touches turns to gold...even the old rock has new luster. So awesome!!
A Beautiful little lady with an equally beautiful voice.

Great version of a beautiful song
Great song. Love that bass and her beautiful sweet voice. Keep singing to us Alison. We love you so much....
Always one of my favorite songs! But, she takes it to another level!
i could listen to her sing a phone book
Yes. Her voice is pure honey.
Is that out yet?
@@stevekuhn9138 genius....
You know it, she has a beautiful voice
@@stevekuhn9138 👍👍👍
Beautiful rendition of a classic.
Allison is amazing and Union Station is one of the best bands ever assembled. It's beautifully done...perhaps it's a little too beautiful.
Now _this_ is how you cover a song...
As perfect and sweet as the rain on a tin roof!
Rain on a tin roof can be very loud and also very annoying. I don't know if you ever had one
The Hand of God reached down and touched this ladies voice. Very few can make a cover anywhere close to the original anything. This woman could sing the Phone book and make it her own.

Allison Krauss just does it for me. A VOICE & those Green Eyes!! LAWD have Mercy on My SOUL!!
Alison makes the angels cry.
Beautiful cover of this classic song.
Stunning. Beautiful. Gorgeous. The songs not bad either.
I love this artist
What a great version and a stunning array of string works.
One of my all time favorite songs, cover by Alison. Wonderful.
So beautiful! God Bless You Alison Krauss...you're amazing...Peace
She has vast knowledge of rock music and she should do more revamping some of the CLASSIC tunes. One cool country mama, Alison is.
What a beautiful version of this song, finally someone did it... beautiful job Allison, and producer...
I listened to the original of this in the '60s many times. Now refreshing to find this innocent sounding vocal from this wonderful fresh young artist!
Absolutely beautiful, thank you Alison , God bless you for your heavenly voice.
What a sweet voice on a classic song.
Stunning.
The way she bends the notes is so perfect -- I'll never be able to hear any other rendition the same way after this.
Her voice, this song, and the dobro - beautiful. Was skeptical when I played it, but I'm sold now. I think Steve and Eric would be OK with this.
In spirit, soul, voice and appearance, nobody could do this song better! Best wishes to Allison Krauss then, today and forever..... You are an Icon!
Voice of an angel. I would just love to sit in on a recording session with her. Probably the best cover of this I have heard.
The purest voice I have ever heard.
Do yourself a favor look up Eva Cassidy on RUclips. Another voice of an Angel
Listening to Alison puts the world into perspective. Remember the good things in life, the rest will come and go.
As always, thanks.
She's gorgeous here, the voice speaks for itself
Wow! To have seen Blind Faith live! Way cool. I wore their albums out.
The best thing about this is she's singing. What a joy.

So PURE and beautiful. Raw talent. Thank you allison. 🙏😊💜
Nice. I absolutely love the original but this is a beautifully done cover.
After only three nites I fell in love with this cover. OUTSTANDING vocals backed by an exceptionally talented band❣
This is an awesome song and she sings it well.
Love it. Honors BF and Windwood. All Alison
One of the sweetest voice's in the world !!!
Purest voice this side of eternity!
I love her cover songs. she has great taste in her choices. This one is particularly suited to her voice.
You have that right!
beautiful cover of one of my `ole time favorites , Blind Faith ....and WELL DONE!!...she`s got the voice of an angel ...
Alison , you killed it . Much love!
Why is it such a big deal about doing "covers"? And whining who's better than who? I've been doing covers for years, BECAUSE I LOVE THE SONGS. And this is one of the finest covers ever. Rock on Alison! the Radman
Most orchestras are just 1800s cover bands.
Right on dude! A cover is big compliment. Real musicians get that. Watch the award shows where folk are covering the recipient's songs.
Amen. The BEST cover of this song ever
Man, there are so many great covers of this song on RUclips! Love 'em all!
Nice! The Alison touch on a great song! I love it.
Have het entire catalog and Union Station, WOW! Jerry Douglas, what more can i say! Surreal voice and such a cute little thang.
Have her entire catalog! 😎
This song has been covered many times and I love them all, because I am waisted and I can't find my way home.
Alison: Thank you for your beautiful rendition of this classic song.
Holy cow! What a beautiful voice, and a beautiful version of this song. And yes -- I love the Blind Faith version as well.
Hey look no auto-tune or nothing. Just plain talent....
Kinda reminds me of the cranberries. Women who can SING ftw...
dude, why is there not a HUGE thumbs up I can click.....
my favorite song to play, all acoustic
l am all thumbs and they are all up
Can't beat a dobro and a voice like that.
Love this version. She is an angel.
In my teens this song gave me strength and understanding that I am not home and won't be until God is ready. As he guides my footsteps I listen for his guidance, for I have learned through my own reliance I only fall away. His mercy has lifted me as high as the mountains his grace has

Very faithful to the original, no pun intended, she is always tasteful
Incredible. I love this song and this rendition of it.
Oh, there IS a god! Angel face, angel voice, angel music! Peace!
Love this! What a great cover! Much love Alison!
wow what a blessing to have a voice like that !
Alison Krauss has the voice of an angel.
Stellar.
Allison took Stevie Winwood's classic and raised the bar about 5 notches!
This is such Tapestry for a piece.
Though she has a beautiful voice to say the bar has been raised..well..I simply disagree. It lacks the raw emotion that Winwood desperately draws from. I will admit ..rarely do I care for covers.
A nice cover, but nobody "raises the bar" on Blind Faith.
raised the bar... lawl..
More like destroyed a classik.
Nice version of this great song, For all of us who can't find our way home,
EERILY BEAUTIFUL.SHE WEAVES SONGS SO WELL!!
The voice of an Angel! Love to Alison!
Wurlitzer piano in one ear, Hammond B3 in the other and Alison's angelic vocals in between... I'm in heaven! ;^)
she has such a gift and she is our gift! win/win
