Back when that movie was still the rage, I took my two sons to the Florida Theater in Jacksonville to see Union Station. It was like getting to see three or four acts for the price of one admission ... BOY. Were they all good!!
I’ve always wondered why they that song so low, I think in the key of F, where the Stanley’s used to do it in B. I still don’t know why they picked that key, but it’s nice to hear these stories.
My wife and I saw Dan, Kane Brown and Brad Paisley at Syracuse a few years ago. My wife didn't know much about country music. We Both loved Dan and Brad, didn't care much for Kane.
I watched George telling this story on some talk show. I had no idea George was the critic who decided he wasn't good enough. He just said, basically, my aunt is Rosemary Clooney. I thought I could sing, so I went into the studio and tried it. Turns out, I was wrong. 🤷 I like Dan's version. I think he made the right choice.
I thought it sad when he left the Lost River Band and replaced Tim Stafford in Union Station. With Stafford and Steffey, Union Station had an edge. With Dan, and then plus Douglas, the band had polish, but without the edge it was no longer exciting. I also preferred Alison Brown but she's not the songwriter Ron Block is.
It's a great story, but it's not a "voice over". James Earl Jones did a voice over for Darth Vader... George Clooney lipsang to your song. Great song though. Cheers.
whisperin bill is everything about nashville that makes me want to hurl. he is the snoop dog of country music. his hair looks ridiculous... yeah bill, you tricked us, we all think you're 20.
Dan’s so freaking good!! Such a compliment to Allison and Union station!
I've only heard Dan play and sing in the past. It's fun to listen to him talking.
