They don't make love songs like this in this day and age anymore.. Such a better time back then.. People everywhere were just happy and lived life with much more compassion.. This is why songs like this were written better.
This song was played at my husband's cousins funeral. He was on a construction site when another worker accidentally cut a guide wire which whipped him and catapulted him off of the top of a 17 story building. He was just two months away from his 28th birthday and it was a big blow to the whole family. He said he never seen so many tough Chicago guys (my hubby included) cry like babies when this song was played. It's kind of bittersweet for my hubby, he loved his cousin very much.
Still a sweet, loving song. A pop song with R&B overtones in his terrific voice. Leo has had many health problems over the years, but is still alive and very well and still recording.
YES!!!! Leo Sayer!! Bring me back to the 70's right now; I don't like today! "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" and "More Than I Can Say" are must listens!!!!! 💖💖💖
This was Leo Sayers biggest hit. "When I Need You" (1977). It was the year I met my wife going on 45 years now. This monster hit for Leo came out when Disco music was playing on all the airwaves and television shows. The movie "Saturday Night Fever" (1977) with John Travolta. Capture the imagination of the country then. Yet this song stood out amongst all the disco music and dance crazed of the time. When the slow dances came on at the night club. And this song was playing. My wife and I just held onto one another... And we never let go. Thank you for this gem of a song. A memory I will never forget. Great reaction as always.
💞💞💞💞💞 What a wonderful memory to have. My husband passed away 10 years ago. We were married 31 years. I have been grateful every day that I love you were the last words we said. 💞💞💞💞
That is beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Met my husband in 1978. He's passed now but all these musical memories bring his love to me. So glad you still have your wife.
Leo Sayer is English but moved here to Australia as he loved this country so much and he says in his Facebook page, he can be himself. So many hits! You make me feel like dancing The show Must Go On Thunder in my heart
I didn't think anyone would react to Leo Sayer ... So glad you did ... he was doing his own thing back in the day. Something different. I loved this song growing up.
Hi I'm from the UK and he still is to this day one of the best song writers over here with so many people wanting him to write for them and they are big stars in the music industry and yes he wrote that beautiful song, 🍻and stay safe over there guy's 🙏🙏
I remember this song very well, when I was in basic training for the Army, one of my buddies was from Guam, he would play this song over and over in the barracks, bring back memories of my youth,
Having watched you two react to a couple of classic 1970s love songs, I just love how you two are with each other. Dennis De Young, lead vocalist of rock band Styx, has been married to the same woman for decades and has written a couple of fabulous love songs to her. I don't know if you've already reacted to them, but the first one is "Lady," which is a hauntingly beautiful song... the second, "Babe" was written as a tribute to his wife on her birthday sometime around 1979 and when the record execs heard it, they wanted it included on Styx current album of the time (I'm spacing out which album that was) and so it was. I think they even took the spontaneous recording of it as it was performed for his wife on her birthday. Babe has a similar theme to this song (When I Need You) in that De Young was largely singing of his wife's praises with respect to his life on the road as a rock musician. Babe went on to be one of Styx' biggest hits. If you haven't reacted to these two songs, I think you lovebirds will really appreciate them.
Love the way he sang this song. I remember it like it was yesterday. Celine Dion performed this years later and of course, most know how powerful her voice is.
Hey guys I love your reactions to the songs 👍👍😁😁 Keep on acting to go to all songs of the 70s and 80s. Best Songs everrrrrrrr!!!!!! Yesssssss 💜💙💚💜💙 🌹🦋😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Leo had another great hit title "The Show Must Go On" (1973). It is a song on how entertainers must perform even when they do not want to. When their mangers made recording and concert dates without them knowing about it. And because of contractual obligations...They are force to perform whether they like it or not. Recording artist are stuck between a rock and a hard place. They must please their audience and fans...Their contractual obligations...And their record label. Wishing sometimes they can say no to it all. He does this song in Clown Face...To hide the deep depression he has inside... While all the while smiling in clown face...The Show Must Go On.
Ahh yes. Slow dancing back in 1976 to this song. And if you were dancing with the one you love it was magical, if it was your first date, well, a bit awkward. Still a beautiful song. Awesome reaction.
The love of my life for 44 yrs. Lives in Canada and i am in the states even though there is so much distance between us. our love is still strong. Soon i will be with him i can't wait. He is my everything.
Oh man, what a great song! I've loved this song since I was a kid.....and I grew up a hard rock/ metal fan! Great reaction S&M to one of my guilty pleasures! Lol
The first record I ever bought!!!! And played it on my little record player, looking back, was red and white like a Fisher-Price toy and sounded just about the same lol. I love this song!
Yes I watch you too all the time and I just love you and I am with the other guy that wants you to play more of his songs like makes me feel like dancing and he’s got a Lotta good songs in the car as always when you get time play mate Etta James I have every record of hers and Janice Cell but they told you before I’m 76 and I saw most of these people already live we’re going back for when you were with ElvisLiz is the queen
When I went to the record shop the white guy look at me so funny when I asked for album ,after paying I said "LOVE HAS NO COLOR "and I smiled and so did he.
I caught The Midnight Special of You make me Feel like Dancing and it it fire. I actually fell in love with his drummer, he looked like he was having too much fun...
One of the absolute best pop ballads of the mid 1970s. Just as Leo was riding the wave of his brief popularity, I had the opportunity to travel to Los Angeles and saw him live at The Troubadour Club in Hollywood. Standing room only. I turned to my right and within arm's reach I saw standing next to me was George Harrison of the Beatles. Unbelievable. Leo Sayer was as hot as hot gets in show business, albeit for only a little while. As soon as his star rose, it fell just as quickly, and I'm not sure why. Check out his debut hit, "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing." It's just as much fun as "When I Need You" touches your heart. Both songs reached #1 here in the US. He had one other hit in America called "More than I Can Say" that peaked at #2. But after that, he only had one more single chart in the US, and it only made it to #23. Leo Sayer's star shone bright, but burned out almost as quickly. That said, his popularity in the UK was much greater and more long-lasting. Now in his 70s, he's still around and still performing.
Yeesss, the 70's was full of songs like this one.
Someone on a different video said the 90's produced the best music, I laughed
@@glyjack yeah that was a dumb thing to say
@@glyjack You should have laughed. The 70s is music's best decade hands down.
They don't make love songs like this in this day and age anymore.. Such a better time back then.. People everywhere were just happy and lived life with much more compassion.. This is why songs like this were written better.
If you want to do another Leo song, "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" is a great one. Always played at the roller rink in the 70's! Fun tune!
Great call....side note, for years I thought Micheal Jackson sang on "You make me feel like dancing" along with Leo.
I love both of these songs brings back a much easier time

This song was played at my husband's cousins funeral. He was on a construction site when another worker accidentally cut a guide wire which whipped him and catapulted him off of the top of a 17 story building. He was just two months away from his 28th birthday and it was a big blow to the whole family.
