Honestly, the new RPG mechanics are very well done. As well as that, from a gameplay perspective, it is soooo much more balanced and a genuine joy to play AT THE MOMENT. with that being said, monetisation is still disgusting and idk who’s idea it was to keep the city a thing but goddamn either get rid of it entirely or add more fast travel points than just your apartment.
I like how intricate next gen is even though some of the features don't have the best execution, such as the dunk "creator", all things are minor that they can work on making better moving forward. I find the 2k community weird, communities in other games get excited about silly things devs add, cause it means they can meme and have some fun with the game. Content creators could make some hella funny content with the whole runway thingy. But most will shit on it n call it a dumb feature

We can all agree the micro transactions are too much, but the actual game is SO much more detailed than any competition, it’s not even close.

How's everyone liking the gameplay? Either current or next gen. For myself it does feel better than 21. I'm on ps4 btw. The ball handling does feel more responsive. Behind the back hesitation step back fading mid ranges even work sometimes. And unlike 21 inside play actually works. Shooting is still pretty easy but I don't feel like I'm forced to just shoot 50 3s a game and that's the only consistent way to win, which is how I felt in 21. Also it seems like ball handling ratings matter and it's harder to use a center and play like you're a guard. Trying to dribble too much with a C has lead to me stumbling and having to pick up my dribble a lot of just getting stripped. Also defense, unlike 21 it's actually possible to play consistent effective defense. Thank god. Now tell me how fuckin stupid i am and how this is the worst video game ever created in the history of mankind or something.

Assuming you're playing on Series X; press up on the d-pad to open the map when you load in, or make sure quick resume is on, have youtube ready to open right when the menu pops up, once the red youtube logo pops up switch back to 2k22. But if you open the menu again it'll crash.

its fun but contests are a bit broken. sometimes people contest heavily out of nowhere, othertimes people can be in your face and it says open. also, open layups & dunks still randomly miss (not the flashy dunks, literally blew a wide open right stuck - up basic dunk)
@Clyde Wellington nah next gen is the next systems being developed. PS5 and Xbox Series X is about to be a year old. They are the current generation. PS4 is last generation. As in a new generation came out after it.
Made a big to start out with this year and was nervous about only having an 83 3 point shot.... No need to worry it's ridiculously easy to shoot this year. Atleast it is when I'm wide open. I haven't had to shoot with a hand in my face because bigs like to pack the paint to make dunking harder for thev guards/forwards.
I feel like thats how 2k is gonna get us tho. If too many people start saying its easy to shoot theyre going to patch shooting again to encourage people to start buying boosts or scrap their players to buy more vc to make new ones that can shoot better.

And most folks don't even try to dunk when they get a lane because they getting terrible animations or they haven't figured out the dunk meter yet. I know I was thinking about making another build until just now. I finally figured out the dunk and alley oops meter. Getting a posterizer badge helped too. This game plays at a different speed and different way than 21

The traveling part of the game is pretty good if you have the time to do the quest then you can fast travel anywhere
