I think some people are just burnt out on it cause they spend so much time tryna get to level 40 as quickly as possible. If you just play it casually and not 24/7 you’re still enjoying it.
Honestly the community is a big problem. Getting stuck with randoms that left right and don’t pass the ball. And don’t let them be missing their shots, they’ll just leave before they can lose. Those types take fun out of the game

2K needs devs that actually play their games heavy. That way almost any problem or balancing issues will be known asap. Apex legends and valorant devs actually play their own game heavy so they know about issues really fast and address them. Also they would know what needs to be balanced and how to balance them so much better. The 2K devs barely play the game and when they do they suck azzz at the game. I seen apex devs stream apex and are actually way better than most players at their own game. I feel like the devs need to be actual gamers and not just a developer.

When the game first dropped the defense was good, content creators couldn’t cheese and make clips they were losing to players who had good basketball IQ and teamwork so they started crying about how OP the defense is! Defense got nerfed and dribbling received a buff! Then they exploit the dribbling moves! Always have and always will. I think 2k should get rid of speed boosting and dribbling cheese and make people actually play team basketball!

Honestly the biggest problem is the lack of creative builds from the community and the lack of realism in the game. Everyone has the same build, jump shot, dribble moves, badges, everything. Like the thing that always made 2k fun was that it was a basketball game. It doesn’t resemble real basketball at all. No team aspect, unrealistic movements, unrealistic blocks, unrealistic shots. Feels like you play the same team over and over again in rec and park. Just not fun anymore imo
They need to go back to patch one defense in 22 next gen. The game being too offensive oriented & catering to these 5’7” builds is killing the gameplay.
It's just burn out. You play a game nonstop, you'll get tired of doing it. 2K, no matter how deep, is basketball. When you don't want to play basketball, you'd need major changes to get people invested. Need orgs, support, money put in, skins, etc. But I don't think it's really gonna get solved, this franchise is falling from it's peak

Nah this is going too easy on the devs… I played 2k17 heavy and was extremely good with like a 95% win rate. Since then I’ve branched out into other games and find 10x more enjoyment in them than I do playing any 2k since 15-17. Horrible franchise and don’t care about what they release to the people cause they know they’ll buy it anyway
The devs need to understand that both offense AND defense need to be fun. I play current gen and I think they need to bring back the defense in 2k20 and improve upon that. I swear it's only gotten worse since they changed it in 21. There's just so much wrong with it. You've got heavily contested greens(with no steady shooter in existence now) that make you question if the shooter is cheating or if the game just sucks, weird shot contest ratings that make you wonder what 2k devs consider "wide open" and contested, slow turn around speed on defense when switching from post to a chase down(so blow bys are harder to guard if clamps doesn't activate the cut off animation), hard stops whenever you change direction (like i'm driving really fast and I suddenly hit the brakes), and a whole lot more I could list that makes playing defense an annoying experience at times. It's even worse if you combine all of this with a dedicated screener and non stop dribbling. I still clamp up and all, but the difference between 20, 21, and 22 defense is very noticeable. The offense is wonky at times too, but not as much as defense.
I feel like the difference between these games & 2k is that it’s one game compared to a new game every year.. it’s a lot easier to perfect one game over tryna make a perfect product each year

I think this speaks to a era we live in. I’m 35 and started out playing live in 1993. Live and Madden were established as a top product for a very long time and there was plenty of competition. When 2k first released it was just for Dreamcast so there was a small fan base to appeal to. Once it spread to other consoles Live and Madden were already established good games so more than likely anybody that was playing 2k was also playing Madden and Live. Anybody that was playing 2k and Live at the same time knows that 2k was better by the time 2k5 hit. This isn’t even arguable for basketball. Football is a different story cause Madden 05 dropped and was one of the greatest Maddens ever and NFL 2K5 was so good but Madden was still on top of the food chain in my area. By this time I was in college we only played Live 2005 for all star but when it was time to hop on sticks and go at it, we played 2k5, but I can only speak from a cultural stand point of being African American and going to an HBCU. Now mind you we played sports games year round, no updates, no change to roster, no specific animations, roster players if they couldn’t get a real players likeness lol. So it always trips me out that folk can get tired of playing sports games if you like sports. 2k is very extensive but it requires a lot of focus towards specific modes. Growing up playing games we were playing multiple football and basketball games, college, professional, fighting games, wrestling, racing, shooting etc. Most games that required a grind could be paced back then but now a lot of people have to grind game within certain amounts of time and drop content. People are burning out from games because it’s not meant for us to sit and play one specific game like that. We use to have all these wonderful games we could sit and play with our friends for hours. Me personally I’ve been watching a lot of different content creators and know you all have built good relationships. I honestly just want to see you guys play games against each other and have fun. Problems with 2k22: Same pie chart for years Chase down is stupid op. No update to the game to make the gameplay fresh. Rewards are ass. Meta is still playshots abusing screen = not fun. Increasing wingspan hurting shooting which is stupid.

I can play a game for 5 hours and feel like I've accomplished something but when I spend 5 hours on 2k it feels like it's never enough and never ending lol. It's like you gotta dump Thousands of hours to become a legend when in the end another 2k is already out and by then Im already burnt out from grinding and grinding for pretty much nothing.

Unlike 2k21 and 2k22 the line up and the gameplay everygame are always the same (playshot, lockdown, paintbeast) These line ups are just so boring to play against. Coz they all have the same gameplay, abusing screens and playing left right bs...

Here me out, it isn't the game that's not fun, its the people. 1. People just care to much about their win percentage and dumb shit like that. 2. People aren't inclusive in gameplay, its just to much 5 out and 2-3 zone everywhere. 3. People are more focused on grinding than they are about having fun. Its all about comp now and there's no way to have casual fun anymore because everybody takes it to serious.

Like rec right now is unplayable if you dont have a squad, park is full of sweaty tryhards, pro am is pointless. Then when youre in the rec, if your teammates don't get the ball 247 they get salty and sell. Either that or they're super selfish. The game isn't perfect (I have plenty of suggestions to fix it) but its far from garbage. The people that play it are the biggest problem though. Like I play to have fun which means my win percentage is low. So nobody will even look past that. But im shooting over 60% from 3 in the rec and 70% in the park but nobody even cares. In current gen, the left right cheese is getting annoying! Interceptor seems to be completely broken as well! Dudes are spamming square and flying across the court or stealing the ball off a rebound when you have no control over your player.

The steals come from all the little play shots with low defensive ratings. I can barley get a steal when I time it properly. I usually only try to steal off of help defense or when a player exposes the ball to me and I’m in good position but unfortunately me with a 80+ steal rating and pick pocket is no match for unpluckable
A lot of you won’t agree but 2K needs to direct more of its energy to 5v5 play and the REC/PRO-AM. Expanding what you can do in the Pro-Am from practices to scrimmages. In gym drills would make a worlds of difference.
Definitely agree, I don't enjoy Park nearly as much as 5v5. There needs to be a maximum of 3 or 4 allowed in a squad for rec... And make the court bigger.
Yea I feel as we are getting older the shift to 5v5 is starting to happen it’s just less BS in the rec and pro. There’s still the left right bs but that’s easier to guard in 5v5 than in 3v3.
2k ain't been that terrible, gameplay has flaws and the drip content is kinda weird, especially with the bad rewards that we have received, but it hasn't been too terrible, maybe because I play a 6'9 I haven't felt like I've been dicked around by patches, but the game, for me personally, has been quite good
Agreed I don’t play that much 2k I’ve played about 300 games of park this year and a decent amount of my team to where my team is above average so the game still feels fresh I play on a spot up so the game feels the same to me

I’ve been playing the current gen version with my friends and had more fun than in the last 2 years of 2k. 22 gave us solid gameplay and seasonal content. As someone who plays mycareer and myteam heavily I am thoroughly enjoying the game.

But they can make significant changes, they’ve gotten lazier and lazier as the years pass by because people buy the game anyway. I’m not one of the people that continuesly buy the game, I haven’t bought a 2k since 2k18, nor do I plan on buying one in the future. Just because it’s based around of sport doesn’t justify rereleasing the same exact carbon copy of the product you’ve released for 4 consecutive years, but then again they have no incentive not to.
Ranked mode would be perfect ranked parks etc because it’s hard for newer players to get games I had to deal with that when ur not fortunate enough to get it early like everybody else so that would be good
The problem is the community. The suggestion is good but I 100% guarantee you that these garbage players will do everything they can to bring a high level character into the lower ranked modes. Happens all the time like people making a 75 for boot camp and grinding all badges and keeping that character at 75 to abuse people with actual new builds. 2k always puts good modes in the game. The community finds the fastest way to ruin it just for some easy wins.
I feel that for a group of 5 friends to go onto 2k and just have a fun enjoyable experience is no longer there. For us we have lives and can't sit and grind 2k all day and become the best there is. So there is no option for us to have a fun online experience where we aren’t playing against people that might play this game for a living. Because the modes like all-star team up just aren't that entertaining. So we have to play rec because that's where the developers put all of their focus.

Comin from fortnite, cod, wow, and valorant competitive I really didn't expect my worst experience to be 2k. if I felt like I could hop on and play fills without being screamed at cause my internet is kinda choppy, I'd probably grind a bit more. Again that's just my personal experience though, my friend group doesn't play 2k so it could be more on me.

Imo, the greatest thing 2k lacks is any real sense of accomplishment anymore. 2k needs to fix pro am, bring back the cash prize tournaments, and introduce ranked matchmaking and a stat/teammate grade system that ACTUALLY works to measure yourself against others like you mentioned. Without those things, there are no real challenges to overcome and no meaningful bar to measure your own progress against. Games like Dark Souls challenge you to become a better player by overcoming the obstacles thrown at you. The game doesn’t get any easier just because you’ve been stuck for hours in one spot. You can’t buy an upgrade or complain on Twitter to have the sliders changed. You either rise to the challenge or you quit. That leads to a real sense of accomplishment when beating a tough boss because you actually had to become a smarter and better player to do so. 2k on the other hand rewards you for hours played and dollars spent. You no longer have to be good at the game to win. You just need to spend more time and/or money than everyone else, have a decent BBIQ, and have other people to play with in rec vs randoms. As soon as they tune the game in a way that introduces more difficulty, the immediately scale it back to coddle the community. Until any of those things change, there is no incentive to spend hours and dollars grinding out a player just to play meaningless games of park, proam, or rec.

Buff paint D, Nerf left right, Buff on ball steals with the use of pick pocket, fix rebirth, and gym rat rewards, nerf blinders or contested shots going in general, buff pick dodger, nerf hail mary pass success and the game would balanced on current gen.

My group stopped on current gen early. Would be on the game for hours just to play 2 games because people would hop off or wouldn’t pull up. I don’t know if we were just unlucky but everyone seemed scared to play. We weren’t even high level we were around the average level. It really killed the vibe for the game.
Locks on 19 were IMPOSSIBLE to score on and that’s how it should be like for example: shooting builds should almost never miss wide open if they have all the right badges regardless of what jump shot they have on
The issue is MONEY. Ppl are tired of spending so much money on a game that sucks. The shooting mechanics, the zombie cpu teammates, if you don't spend money your build is gonna be ass for half the year. It's the money we pour into 2k that has those at the top complacent.

I am going to take a break from 2k because these 12 weeks have had a lot of ups and downs in 2k. I hit 40 on myteam and mycareer but it feels like a constant grind rather then fun. I liked the game before seasons where you just played to have fun and if you grind you did it on your own time rather then feel rushed or missed something if you don't play the game everyday.

But every game has negatives to it. And then you tubers say the game is dead because THEIR views are low. I’ve never loaded into an empty park or ante up. The game is very much alive. I have plenty of fun playing it and grinding the seasons is the best decision 2K has ever made. I feel like ever since 2k21 2k RUclips has kinda been dead or ass and you tubers feel the same way look back at all the you tubers in 2k16 playing 2k most of them got too big for 2k or gave up. Hell amp members barley play 2k anymore tyceno and gman disappeared in the first few months of 2k21 it haven’t been the same
A couple of things coming from a lover of RPGs. Having to run around and collect quests is cool the first week but now not so much. These dailies shoud be able to be started from your apartment or cell phone. Running to the same people day after day after day takes away from the game. That's my biggest complaint. Outside of the defense nerfs. Before the defense nerf I said this was one of my favorites. Now it's meh. Allowing dudes to just left right left right with no penalty takes away from the game. There's some flaws here and there but overall I like it. Quests need to be made better. Like Gatorade quest. You can only do workouts once. So after you get your workout boost if you get a quest to hit a certain rank you can't do it. Stupid design choice. 2K has made some questionable calls. Events so far have been boring and weak. 2K literally has had the same tats from like 5 years now. They can get more creative. Hell hire a real tattoo artist to come up with some designs and pay him for the work. Endorsements make no sense this year. Making it so basically everybody can shoot isn't great. They need to buff steals again so this left right cheese will stop. I play games and even my teammates will left right 20 seconds over and over and over. It's just annoying. Dudes be wide open and instead of shooting they gotta left right cheese before they can shoot. You set a pick and instead of taking the pick they run right back in the defender. People play so stupid this year. Some people. When you find a good squad though, it's a beautiful thing.
I agree with the innovation shit 100%, honestly just adding a rank mode that people care about like in valorant, overwatch, apex etc. would be really good. However, I think that the best thing they can do is make the game just one more time and making that one the 2k for the next couple of years instead of making people buy it every year. It would be the best scenario cause they don't have to spend time each year re-creating it and can now spend time patching/adding shit to a game with a solid base.
I actually like this vid because I did get hyped for a bit because “2K got it right!” But then I remember all the old stuff they had better. And getting complacent with them is what lead them down this path in the first place. Stay on they neck, Agent.
I think the only 2k will become the game we’re all looking for is if nba live steps up and beats them. 2k needs competition cause the fact of the matter is they have no competition it’s no other basketball game that’s going to compete with them and make the fall off or take all their fans. Which is why they feel the need to not go all out.
I've recently been playing the new Halo, a series I've literally been playing since I was in pre-school. And Halo Infinite is amazing but it's not so extremely different then any other game in the franchise. It's just fun, competitive, quality, and carefully crafted. The best cure for franchise fatigue are just good games. A game that is fun and has a skill gap and a good amount of content can be revelant for an entire decade if the devs play their cards right.

I have been playing 2k with my freinds for a while now. What I have seen is that how much fun people have is dictated by winning or losing, and I don’t like that. I think that the experience of playing the game should be fun, yes you should want to win, but if winning is the only thing that makes the game fun for you I feel like that’s a bit toxic. Sometimes I wish people could stop taking it so seriously and just try find enjoyment in the game, not just winning.
Charles Barkley predicted a NBA lockout next season which could interfere with NBA 2k23. The visual concepts team needs to follow through with wwe 2k and take a year off to rebuild NBA 2k from the ground up no replication of anything in 2k22. Newer engine new game modes replacing the existing library, controls, & at least 5 realistic street basketball activities (21 horse 3 point shooting contest slam dunk contest & make it/take it) not the neighborhood fantasy schemes Push the release of 2k23 to October 2023 not September 2022. Unlike previous titles, have the latency issues and server crashes adjusted beforehand
I am amazed by how easily confused this 2k community is. As a RUclipsr I support you making videos as thorough or complicated as you like. As a 2k player ( since 2k7) this is all pretty simple. People were very excited about this game in Season 1 and then Season 2 killed that. The game had balance in terms of offense and defense. What we learned was that people like me that lean towards defense said: ok, steals are a bit overpowered so nerf it a bit to make it an even experience. Then they killed the steals and boosted the cheesy mechanics on the offensive side. People that prefer that type of gaming experience do not have the same integrity and abuse the Left/Right cheese to the maximum. So now it is half of a Basketball game and it feels ridiculous at any age, any maturity level, or how many years you have played the game. P. S. 2 generations of consoles might be tough on content creators, but it is only a positive thing for actual gamers. Please stop listing that as a problem, especially when most people can't get next Gen systems.
Easy solution, make the game crossplay. Like most big titles are these days. And if the damn city prevents that, take the bullshit city out. Lame ass excuse to keep us all seperated. Crossplay is easy. And we should definitely be complaining about this

2k needs to understand that it’s when you’re on the court playing that you’re the most interested in the game because it’s a BASKETBALL game. They need to get more innovative with how we can play. Add more button combinations for us to do different things. They added the ability to throw on command bounce lobs by pressing A and B or X and O for ps. Why is that the only input innovation added to the game in forever? What if I wanna try and throw it off the back board? What if I wanna do a one handed fake pass while retaining my dribble? There’s so much stuff you can do in basketball that you can’t do in 2k. Throwing a measured full court fast break pass that someone can run onto. I’m sure the could ask their madden team how to do that. It’s like they don’t even think about implementing what’s possible in the game
The little things they took out I feel also is annoying like from 2k16-19 after you win you can walk over to the other team and emote or walk around which is fun/funny but now we just stand and dance with 3 animations available

2K needs devs that actually play their games heavy. That way almost any problem or balancing issues will be known asap. Apex legends and valorant devs actually play their own game heavy so they know about issues really fast and address them. Also they would know what needs to be balanced and how to balance them so much better. The 2K devs barely play the game and when they do they suck azzz at the game. I seen apex devs stream apex and are actually way better than most players at their own game. I feel like the devs need to be actual gamers and not just a developer.

When the game first dropped the defense was good, content creators couldn’t cheese and make clips they were losing to players who had good basketball IQ and teamwork so they started crying about how OP the defense is! I think 2k should get rid of speed boosting and dribbling cheese and make people actually play team basketball!

Honestly the biggest problem is the lack of creative builds from the community and the lack of realism in the game. Everyone has the same build, jump shot, dribble moves, badges, everything. Like the thing that always made 2k fun was that it was a basketball game. It doesn’t resemble real basketball at all. No team aspect, unrealistic movements, unrealistic blocks, unrealistic shots. Feels like you play the same team over and over again in rec and park. Just not fun anymore imo
They need to go back to patch one defense in 22 next gen. The game being too offensive oriented & catering to these 5’7” builds is killing the gameplay.

Nah this is going too easy on the devs… I played 2k17 heavy and was extremely good with like a 95% win rate. Since then I’ve branched out into other games and find 10x more enjoyment in them than I do playing any 2k since 15-17. Horrible franchise and don’t care about what they release to the people cause they know they’ll buy it anyway
The devs need to understand that both offense AND defense need to be fun. I play current gen and I think they need to bring back the defense in 2k20 and improve upon that. I swear it's only gotten worse since they changed it in 21. There's just so much wrong with it. You've got heavily contested greens(with no steady shooter in existence now) that make you question if the shooter is cheating or if the game just sucks, weird shot contest ratings that make you wonder what 2k devs consider "wide open" and contested, slow turn around speed on defense when switching from post to a chase down(so blow bys are harder to guard if clamps doesn't activate the cut off animation), hard stops whenever you change direction (like i'm driving really fast and I suddenly hit the brakes), and a whole lot more I could list that makes playing defense an annoying experience at times. It's even worse if you combine all of this with a dedicated screener and non stop dribbling. I still clamp up and all, but the difference between 20, 21, and 22 defense is very noticeable. The offense is wonky at times too, but not as much as defense.
I feel like the difference between these games & 2k is that it’s one game compared to a new game every year.. it’s a lot easier to perfect one game over tryna make a perfect product each year

I think this speaks to a era we live in. I’m 35 and started out playing live in 1993. Live and Madden were established as a top product for a very long time and there was plenty of competition. When 2k first released it was just for Dreamcast so there was a small fan base to appeal to. Once it spread to other consoles Live and Madden were already established good games so more than likely anybody that was playing 2k was also playing Madden and Live. Anybody that was playing 2k and Live at the same time knows that 2k was better by the time 2k5 hit. This isn’t even arguable for basketball. Football is a different story cause Madden 05 dropped and was one of the greatest Maddens ever and NFL 2K5 was so good but Madden was still on top of the food chain in my area. By this time I was in college we only played Live 2005 for all star but when it was time to hop on sticks and go at it, we played 2k5, but I can only speak from a cultural stand point of being African American and going to an HBCU. Now mind you we played sports games year round, no updates, no change to roster, no specific animations, roster players if they couldn’t get a real players likeness lol. So it always trips me out that folk can get tired of playing sports games if you like sports. 2k is very extensive but it requires a lot of focus towards specific modes. Growing up playing games we were playing multiple football and basketball games, college, professional, fighting games, wrestling, racing, shooting etc. Most games that required a grind could be paced back then but now a lot of people have to grind game within certain amounts of time and drop content. People are burning out from games because it’s not meant for us to sit and play one specific game like that. We use to have all these wonderful games we could sit and play with our friends for hours. Me personally I’ve been watching a lot of different content creators and know you all have built good relationships. I honestly just want to see you guys play games against each other and have fun. There are some people that do this and it’s fun to watch for me, cause it brings back good memories from the old days. lol bless anybody that read all of that. Happy thanksgiving!!!

I can play a game for 5 hours and feel like I've accomplished something but when I spend 5 hours on 2k it feels like it's never enough and never ending lol. It's like you gotta dump Thousands of hours to become a legend when in the end another 2k is already out and by then Im already burnt out from grinding and grinding for pretty much nothing.

Like rec right now is unplayable if you dont have a squad, park is full of sweaty tryhards, pro am is pointless. Then when youre in the rec, if your teammates don't get the ball 247 they get salty and sell. Either that or they're super selfish. The game isn't perfect (I have plenty of suggestions to fix it) but its far from garbage. The people that play it are the biggest problem though. Like I play to have fun which means my win percentage is low. So nobody will even look past that. But im shooting over 60% from 3 in the rec and 70% in the park but nobody even cares. Its just so stupid how everybody cares about everything to damn much. Like just play the game and enjoy it. This fucking is bullshit is the worst out of all of it tbh

The steals come from all the little play shots with low defensive ratings. I can barley get a steal when I time it properly. I usually only try to steal off of help defense or when a player exposes the ball to me and I’m in good position but unfortunately me with a 80+ steal rating and pick pocket is no match for unpluckable
A lot of you won’t agree but 2K needs to direct more of its energy to 5v5 play and the REC/PRO-AM. Expanding what you can do in the Pro-Am from practices to scrimmages. In gym drills would make a worlds of difference.
They need to add A.I back as well for those who don’t have a full 5 but still want to run smh.

2k ain't been that terrible, gameplay has flaws and the drip content is kinda weird, especially with the bad rewards that we have received, but it hasn't been too terrible, maybe because I play a 6'9 I haven't felt like I've been dicked around by patches, but the game, for me personally, has been quite good

I’ve been playing the current gen version with my friends and had more fun than in the last 2 years of 2k. 22 gave us solid gameplay and seasonal content. As someone who plays mycareer and myteam heavily I am thoroughly enjoying the game.
Samw here, my son I both play my career and MyTeam. I play Rec a few times, but beyond that, playing park is just asking for more stress after while.

But they can make significant changes, they’ve gotten lazier and lazier as the years pass by because people buy the game anyway. I’m not one of the people that continuesly buy the game, I haven’t bought a 2k since 2k18, nor do I plan on buying one in the future. Just because it’s based around of sport doesn’t justify rereleasing the same exact carbon copy of the product you’ve released for 4 consecutive years, but then again they have no incentive not to.
Ranked mode would be perfect ranked parks etc because it’s hard for newer players to get games I had to deal with that when ur not fortunate enough to get it early like everybody else so that would be good
The problem is the community. The suggestion is good but I 100% guarantee you that these garbage players will do everything they can to bring a high level character into the lower ranked modes.
Happens all the time like people making a 75 for boot camp and grinding all badges and keeping that character at 75 to abuse people with actual new builds. 2k always puts good modes in the game. The community finds the fastest way to ruin it just for some easy wins.

I feel that for a group of 5 friends to go onto 2k and just have a fun enjoyable experience is no longer there. For us we have lives and can't sit and grind 2k all day and become the best there is. So there is no option for us to have a fun online experience where we aren’t playing against people that might play this game for a living. Because the modes like all-star team up just aren't that entertaining. So we have to play rec because that's where the developers put all of their focus.

Not gonna lie the biggest thing for me has been how toxic the comm has been. Comin from fortnite, cod, wow, and valorant competitive I really didn't expect my worst experience to be 2k. if I felt like I could hop on and play fills without being screamed at cause my internet is kinda choppy, I'd probably grind a bit more. Again that's just my personal experience though, my friend group doesn't play 2k so it could be more on me.

Imo, the greatest thing 2k lacks is any real sense of accomplishment anymore. 2k needs to fix pro am, bring back the cash prize tournaments, and introduce ranked matchmaking and a stat/teammate grade system that ACTUALLY works to measure yourself against others like you mentioned. Without those things, there are no real challenges to overcome and no meaningful bar to measure your own progress against. Games like Dark Souls challenge you to become a better player by overcoming the obstacles thrown at you. The game doesn’t get any easier just because you’ve been stuck for hours in one spot. You can’t buy an upgrade or complain on Twitter to have the sliders changed. You either rise to the challenge or you quit. That leads to a real sense of accomplishment when beating a tough boss because you actually had to become a smarter and better player to do so. 2k on the other hand rewards you for hours played and dollars spent. You no longer have to be good at the game to win. You just need to spend more time and/or money than everyone else, have a decent BBIQ, and have other people to play with in rec vs randoms. As soon as they tune the game in a way that introduces more difficulty, the immediately scale it back to coddle the community. Until any of those things change, there is no incentive to spend hours and dollars grinding out a player just to play meaningless games of park, proam, or rec.
All this would be dope but they forced sliding AI defense and the badges and removing features from NBA players based on badges which turns people to spend 40$ and use meta just to fit in bro it’s horrible it’s like this in any online game that came be manipulated

My group stopped on current gen early. Would be on the game for hours just to play 2 games because people would hop off or wouldn’t pull up. I don’t know if we were just unlucky but everyone seemed scared to play. We weren’t even high level we were around the average level. It really killed the vibe for the game.
Locks on 19 were IMPOSSIBLE to score on and that’s how it should be like for example: shooting builds should almost never miss wide open if they have all the right badges regardless of what jump shot they have on

I am going to take a break from 2k because these 12 weeks have had a lot of ups and downs in 2k. I hit 40 on myteam and mycareer but it feels like a constant grind rather then fun. I liked the game before seasons where you just played to have fun and if you grind you did it on your own time rather then feel rushed or missed something if you don't play the game everyday.
Ball handling is a big reason why it’s so bad I’m not asking for no speed boosting shit cause I don’t know how to do it but speed it up just feels so slow too slow

A couple of things coming from a lover of RPGs. Having to run around and collect quests is cool the first week but now not so much. These dailies shoud be able to be started from your apartment or cell phone. Running to the same people day after day after day takes away from the game. That's my biggest complaint. Outside of the defense nerfs. Before the defense nerf I said this was one of my favorites. Now it's meh. Allowing dudes to just left right left right with no penalty takes away from the game. There's some flaws here and there but overall I like it. Quests need to be made better. Like Gatorade quest. You can only do workouts once. So after you get your workout boost if you get a quest to hit a certain rank you can't do it. Stupid design choice. 2K has made some questionable calls. Events so far have been boring and weak. 2K literally has had the same tats from like 5 years now. They can get more creative. Hell hire a real tattoo artist to come up with some designs and pay him for the work. Endorsements make no sense this year. Making it so basically everybody can shoot isn't great.
They need to buff steals again so this left right cheese will stop. I play games and even my teammates will left right 20 seconds over and over and over. It's just annoying. Dudes be wide open and instead of shooting they gotta left right cheese before they can shoot. You set a pick and instead of taking the pick they run right back in the defender. People play so stupid this year. Some people. When you find a good squad though, it's a beautiful thing.

I agree with the innovation shit 100%, honestly just adding a rank mode that people care about like in valorant, overwatch, apex etc. would be really good. However, I think that the best thing they can do is make the game just one more time and making that one the 2k for the next couple of years instead of making people buy it every year. It would be the best scenario cause they don't have to spend time each year re-creating it and can now spend time patching/adding shit to a game with a solid base.

I've recently been playing the new Halo, a series I've literally been playing since I was in pre-school. And Halo Infinite is amazing but it's not so extremely different then any other game in the franchise. It's just fun, competitive, quality, and carefully crafted. The best cure for franchise fatigue are just good games. A game that is fun and has a skill gap and a good amount of content can be revelant for an entire decade if the devs play their cards right.

I have been playing 2k with my freinds for a while now. What I have seen is that how much fun people have is dictated by winning or losing, and I don’t like that. I think that the experience of playing the game should be fun, yes you should want to win, but if winning is the only thing that makes the game fun for you I feel like that’s a bit toxic. Sometimes I wish people could stop taking it so seriously and just try find enjoyment in the game, not just winning.
Charles Barkley predicted a NBA lockout next season which could interfere with NBA 2k23. The visual concepts team needs to follow through with wwe 2k and take a year off to rebuild NBA 2k from the ground up no replication of anything in 2k22.
Newer engine new game modes replacing the existing library, controls, & at least 5 realistic street basketball activities (21 horse 3 point shooting contest slam dunk contest & make it/take it) not the neighborhood fantasy schemes

I am amazed by how easily confused this 2k community is. As a RUclipsr I support you making videos as thorough or complicated as you like.
As a 2k player ( since 2k7) this is all pretty simple. People were very excited about this game in Season 1 and then Season 2 killed that. The game had balance in terms of offense and defense. What we learned was that people like me that lean towards defense said: ok, steals are a bit overpowered so nerf it a bit to make it an even experience. Then they killed the steals and boosted the cheesy mechanics on the offensive side. People that prefer that type of gaming experience do not have the same integrity and abuse the Left/Right cheese to the maximum. So now it is half of a Basketball game and it feels ridiculous at any age, any maturity level, or how many years you have played the game.

2 generations of consoles might be tough on content creators, but it is only a positive thing for actual gamers. Please stop listing that as a problem, especially when most people can't get next Gen systems.

2k needs to understand that it’s when you’re on the court playing that you’re the most interested in the game because it’s a BASKETBALL game. They need to get more innovative with how we can play. Add more button combinations for us to do different things. They added the ability to throw on command bounce lobs by pressing A and B or X and O for ps. Why is that the only input innovation added to the game in forever? What if I wanna try and throw it off the back board? What if I wanna do a one handed fake pass while retaining my dribble? There’s so much stuff you can do in basketball that you can’t do in 2k. Throwing a measured full court fast break pass that someone can run onto. I’m sure the could ask their madden team how to do that. It’s like they don’t even think about implementing what’s possible in the game
