An easy hike, scramble and fly above Chamonix on the Aiguilles Rouges

- I head up the Brevent cable car and enjoy a late afternoon bimble across some lovely granite on the Aiguilles Rouges. Following my nose I pick out some enjoyable, stress free scrambling with a view to flying back down into town as the light fades. Of course not everything goes to plan - but that's life in the mountains :-)

Fantastic video with spectacular views. I was there in 1998. Snowboarding for 4 months. Thank you for taking me back. ❤
Fantastic video. Amazing views. Enjoyed watching the video. Thanks for sharing. 👍55
Sad to see how much those glaciers have thinned since I was last there in the mid-90's. That was a lovely walk you video'ed Rob, thanks!
Yes absolutely, the change is dramatic isn’t it.
Well you did it. No drone and still a beautiful experience shared beautifully. ⛰❤️
Thank you, that’s very kind.
Very nicely done Rob 👏You did well getting some peace and quiet up there and the rock looked ideal for scrambling. A few years back I flew from Brevent towards Le Grand Bornand with Bob Drury. I couldn't make the climb onto the Aravis and landed in the Bonneville valley. Look forward to seeing your 4000ers film ☺
Happy days 😀 Thanks very much Ian.
Weather looking good in Cham - great wee video 👍 A pity you had to put the knees through another 1000m of descent 😉
@@gcsScotland 😂Got to be good for me 😀
Awesome Rob!
Thanks very much 😀👍
What a stunning place to have to yourself! The views were amazing, even without the drone! I'd love to visit there one day so thanks for sharing it with us all. One day I will learn how to paraglide and save my knees the trouble of hiking back down lol (WHEN THE WIND ALLOWS)...I'd be cursing all the way back down if the wind scuppered my flight lol.
It’s such a stunning place isn’t it and a real treat to enjoy in peace and quiet. Luckily the light on my walk down was lovely and I got to see more Ibex and Marmot so I didn’t mind the walk. I was sad to miss dinner though 😀
@@RobJohnson Yea I bet, who wants to miss pizza night lol. Look forward to the next video ! Cheers.
Stunning location Rob. I assume you were sponsored by the shirt provider....?
Sadly I think I sponsor them 😂
It was watching paragliders over Chamonix when I was about 10 that made me want to learn. One day I will fly Chamonix.
Great video
Yes it’s one of the places that inspired me to learn too.
I might be wrong but the French might call scrambling “Rando vertige” or “Topo rando”
Enjoyed that... I camped up at Plan Praz in July with some mates doing a volbiv trip - see ruclips.net/video/EKWwnGD51xU/видео.html (PS. I'm looking forward to your Welsh 3000s premiere tonight)
Hey nice one, thanks Tim. I’ve enjoyed watching your adventures over the last couple of years and that’s another great trip. 😀👍
@ ooh great, thanks! You should join us one year!
